Advertising works! According to the dealer, I needed some fairly expensive maintenance on my vehicle. Coincidentally I received a flyer in the mail from Garys. Well written, well presented and featuring women! I met with Sarah who is professional, friendly and knowledgeable without being condescending. Thank you Sarah for your kindness. End of story? A stress free experience and I saved a lot of money. Shop local. It pays.

Rarely do I leave an auto shop feeling genuinely impressed, but Gary's really is fantastic. Our 2004 Sprinter started having front suspension issues, I gave Gary's a call and not only did they get us in the same day, I had a full inspection report in hand about 3 hours later, along with a quote for all of the recommended repairs. One of the parts was discontinued but they worked with me to find a suitable replacement and were extremely friendly and understanding throughout.

I haven't had any actual work done yet and will update this review when the repairs are completed, but the first steps with Gary's have been a refreshing change from the stress usually associated with unexpected vehicle repairs!

UPDATE:
The day Gary's estimated the parts would arrive, I got a text saying the vehicle was ready for pickup - impressively quick service. In addition, they stuck with their initial quote and there were no suspicious extra charges. Just got the van home and it drives great! Thanks again Gary's, I'll be coming back!

The day I bought a Mazda RX8 I had problems with it. It stalled and wouldn't restart. I was having a rough day and I called, at random, Gary's and someone up there liked me that day. I was absolutely blown away by their service and concern. I had the car towed to Gary's for diagnosis. The major problem of it not wanting to start was solved quickly and they repaired it.

They looked all over the car to see what other issues were urgent and other potential issues that could wait. There was a long list of things that were working properly and they listed and approved them.

There were a couple of things needing done right away - tire rotation and a headlight problem - and I asked them to go ahead to fix them.

Sarah in the office was brilliant. She made me (and my dog) feel right at home. She explained what had been found and what it would take to fix it.

What could have been a terrible experience became much less of a stressor because of how I was treated and it didn't take me too long to place my trust in them.

I'll be getting all of my services and repairs at Gary's in the future. I'm sure the job will be done properly and at a fair price.

Had some major repairs to my 2013 Subaru. I was kept informed as to the progress of my repairs by the friendly staff up front. Newer model courtesy car was clean. A follow up was done at no charge to check that all was okay. All at a fair price.

These folks were amazing from the first phone call! Brought my car in for an out of province inspection, car was inspected and repaired the same day, they even drove me home so I didn’t have to wait at the shop all day! All the information regarding what was needed to be repaired was emailed to me with photos and was very detailed. The front staff ladies were so nice and helpful as well! My car is running great and there were no issues switching plates over. I will definitely be using Gary’s for all future issues and repairs! Honest and friendly and very helpful!

Exceedingly expensive.

I received a quote of $860 for replacement of two rear shocks including labor and mounting hardware on July 6th, 2022.

This compares with a price for OEM replacement parts, i.e. Factory original, directly from the Mazda dealership with all parts, mounting hardware, and labor of $520 for the pair.

Also exceeds another local independent mechanic quote of $430 for the pair, with taxes and install and parts.

Either this business is brazenly overcharging consumers and prospective clients, or they need to find a new supplier.

While I did not use this business, the provided quote on this one part was extremely expensive. I'm an informed buyer, having replaced multiple parts myself and knowing a reasonable amount about cars - including when I am being robbed for repairs - and I worry what might have happened had my wife placed his call for a quote.

Will be avoiding.

We had a number of broken bolts on the exhaust manifold on our 1994 Ford Corsair Motorhome. The Ford dealer wouldn't do it because they didn't have the expertise although they did recommend Gary's Automotive. Trevor did an outstanding job and kept us informed.

I highly recommend Gary's Auto Repair. Top Notch Service. Top Notch People. My last service was a big one as I have an older car. They had to keep it for a week, so they kindly gave me a Courtesy Car for the week. Their prices are good and the quality of work is the best. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Sarah was very pleasant and knowledgable, she booked me in for tire warranty owed to me by Michelin, and followed up to make sure the the service exsperiances were to my expectations. The staff at Gary's were lovely - very accommodating, communicative and efficient! They completed a basic inspection with my oil change and provided a very detailed report via email/text that included photos and explanations on other items that required attention. They were also able to identify and repair an oil leak that was previously misdiagnosed as an overheating issue at a very reasonable rate. I would definitely return for any future automotive needs and highly recommend Gary's Automotive!

They were referred by a friend as my other mechanic is further away and I needed something closer. I took my chances and I was impressed. Prices were decent and they are very informative. They are a good honest mechanic shop. At least my experience with them anyway. They balanced my tires and fixed my tires with an oil change.

This company found and installed a battery in our RAV4 on a cold rainy day when we were in a rush to get to a meeting downtown. We tried several other places before finding Gary's and they either couldn't or wouldn't help us. Great place with cheerful, helpful and very professional people. Highly recommend.

I brought in my car for what I thought was steering problems, after thorough inspection from one of there qualified mechanics found out there was no problem with it must of just been all in my head, but they did find that one of my wheel bearings were noisy and recommended I get it replaced, but they were never forceful about it as it wouldn’t be much of an issue till later on, but I decided to do it anyways. Sarah at front desk was so accommodating and great at communicating she’s awesome. They also have courtesy cars which is a plus as I needed to get to work. Overall great shop I very much recommend. I will be back for future maintenance.

I recently brought a 1977 Dodge RV in to Gary's for service. The staff and service were fantastic. I was very impressed with Sarah's eagerness to help, the detailed estimation system complete with photos and explanation as well as pricing for each item. They were up front and honest about which repairs to prioritize and which were not as pressing. The booking process was convenient and the automated messaging was very helpful. They did not hesitate to tackle the challenges of working on an older machine that had been sitting still for over 10 years and it came back working like a charm! I would definitely recommend Gary's.

I had my vehicle tuned and fixed up at Gary’s Automotive. This is a very honest and thorough automotive shops in Langley. I really admired their video walk throughs to show proof of mechanical needs and necessary repairs. Price is competitive and honest. Since getting my car back - I have noticed all the clicks and rumbles I was noticing are not extinguished and will be back for all other automotive repairs and tune ups.

I got new exhaust tips welded on my 4g tl as well as removing the resonators and was very impressed with the shop's work. Sarah was super friendly and helpful. She explained the reasons for the price quote once my car was lifted. As the job would require more time since I asked them last minute to remove the resonators, Sarah offered a courtesy car which was really appreciated. Definitely recommend this shop for exhaust work!

I brought my lower control arms in to have the bushings replaced. Had them dropped off close to closing time on Monday, got a call Tuesday afternoon saying they were done. Quick and professional. I will be taking my automotive needs here from now on.

They just earned a lifetime customer! I went to get my car checked after not using it for 6 months and they figured out what needed to be done in a timely manner; I got my car back the same day! I recently had my suv fixed at Gary's auto shop. As this is the first experience, I like to leave a review if possible. I was initially impressed by the thorough vehicle examination of my truck. They confirmed the initial electrical problem quickly, and discovered a few deficiencies that needed immediate attention also. They did not bill me or start any work until we agreed to a price and timeline. I can describe Gary's in three words:
Professional, accurate, dependable.

A mysterious vehicle noise brought me to Gary's for the first time since moving to Langley. I checked for reviews online and noted almost all 5 star ratings. I couldn't have made a better choice. The whole team was professional, efficient, thorough and friendly. Everything was fully explained. Work was done on time. I could not be more pleased and will definitely be a return customer.

Had my old Mercedes catalytic converter repaired here in the summer and my Ford F-150 repaired by Gary’s last week. I found them honest, always have their customers best interest at heart and do good work. They provided a work around solution for my old MB because the OEM part was extremely expensive. I’ve always look for an honest and competent mechanics and not a cheap one. I’m not saying they are expensive, they are very reasonable and give you good honest work. I’ve learnt the old adage is always true “you get what you pay for”.

They are willing to discuss the needed repairs for your vehicle and set up a time check for those items that need future attention
They provide a courtesy vehicle or a ride home if you need it while your vehicle is being serviced

I found this shop online and dealt with them for a major tune up and to fix leakage. My car generally spends more time in storage than driving.
While they did the majority of work required, they also recommended work that was not necessary. I have the quotations to back this up.
After two visits because the car still had a significant leak, they advised me that the main seal was leaking and gave me a quotation accordingly.
In fact, I took my car to another shop and they gave me a quotation to fix the main seal which was significantly cheaper and they phoned me the next day to say that the main seal was dry. The problem was the oil pan that Gary's had already "fixed". The cost saving was obvious.
I could have given them a 3 out of 5, but their warranty is in fact worthless, and honesty and integrity are missing.

Took my '61 T-bird to Gary's because they have a great reputation for working vintage cars and I needed alot of things worked on. They took care of everything and have great communication. The car runs awesome now.
Even delivered the car to my house when i was unable to pick it up. Great staff too!

Gary's team provided an efficient service when I had to get my car's wheel bearing replaced. They went above and beyond my expectations, and also performed a complimentary, but thorough, vehicle assessment to inform me of other areas of concern. As Sarah explained this to me, she was very realistic on what was needed for future servicing and what was not, leading to a greater sense of trust with their business!

The service that Luca and Will gave us was extremely professional and with a great attention to our needs. Price was reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

They were very detailed in showing me what had to be fixed and even sent pictures of the broken parts to explain it better. Gary's auto is the best. The estimates are always correct. Communications is always up to the minute and authorization is asked if any changes are required. Their Covid 19 procedures are simple but effective. A great experience.

Had a warning light show up on my Jeep Compass and contacted Gary's Automotive, we had used them in the past, right away. Sarah was so welcoming in finding out what the issue was and getting me in as I needed my vehicle back asap. I have had all my car repairs taken care of by Gary’s Auto for many years. Just recently had
my snow tires removed & a tuneup in their new building & as usual everything went according
to plan. They are very conscious of Covid19 and take all the safety precautions.
