I had miguel tattoo me and was the best tattoo experience i have ever had.everyone was so nice.they even had tampons in the bathroom for women if you forgot yours.so so so good.highly recommend!

Super friendly and professional. Josh banged out two sound wave tattoos for us spontaneous walk-ins just visiting Vancouver. Also gave us a great sushi recommendation down the street at Tokyo in April, thanks guys!

Super great experience! All the employees were very kind and cooperative with one another and the customers! Cam is an unbelievably phenomenal artist whose work speaks for itself.

My boyfriend and I saw Josh while visiting from out of town. I had beforehand requested an artist with experience tattooing on coloured skin as my boyfriend is dark skinned and has experienced scarring from previous tattoo artists. We decided to place our tattoos behind our ears and were told we’d be charged extra for that placement… first red flag. After the appointment Josh poorly slapped on bandages and sent us on our way. We kept the bandages on as long as possible but due to the way they were put on they fell off by the end of the day. (Should’ve used second skin) we continued with usual aftercare as were both covered in ink and this isn’t our first time. Now about 2 weeks later my boyfriends new tattoo is scarred and bumpy. Overall unprofessional and clearly inexperienced in tattooing coloured skin. I do not recommend him to anyone looking for a walk in or even in general.

This place by far is the best tattoo shop I’ve been too. They have dogs on every floor for emotional support and everyone is super friendly and helpful! I got a tattoo done and I absolutely love it. If your in gas town and want a tattoo I 100% recommend ️

Ingryd is such a great artist. I have gotten a few tattoos from her and I am so happy with the results. Her freehand style is amazing.

Clean overall. The artist was on a mood and looked like he rushed the process resulting in some wonky lines, 120 bucks for a rushed tattoo is not the best experience that I’ve got.

I've gotten several custom designs from Jon Walters ranging from Chibi anime/manga pieces, to more personal memorial works. Every time Jon has been professional, consistent, courteous and open to feedback and changes. Planning some bigger work for the fall and winter season with Jon. Highly recommend.

Been getting tattooed here for years by different artists. Mitch is amazing! He is by far one of the nicest and talented artists in the industry. Overall: Pacific rose tattoo has a great group of artists who are all masters of their craft. Highly recommend

Out of the many tattoo experiences I have had, this shop was one of the best! Very helpful & informative over the phone, easy to follow website for what's needed to book an appt. Alec did a great job on a special tattoo in a painful spot on the ribs. Healing nicely & love it so much! Would definitely make the 4 hour trip again!

I got a tattoo here once in 2019 and then also yesterday (2022)! I can't say enough great things about this studio. Everyone is super welcoming, helpful, and happy to make it a pleasant experience. My artist yesterday was Keegan and we had quite a long session so that can tend to be not pleasant physically on the body, however, he was SO nice, helpful, and had a very calm energy that made the whole experience amazing! I have a bunch of tattoos and I always appreciate artists like that who bring a calm energy since sometimes I get nervous also the people working at the desk and the other artists there were very friendly and conversational.

In terms of artwork, they all do a fantastic job and there's a wide variety of skillsets/styles amongst the artists. If I heard them correctly they have around 12 or more artists that work there so there's many to choose from - check them out on Instagram!

Nick was my artist today. This is my first tattoo but he certainly put my mind at ease. He was professional, explained everything concisely. He worked with me until I am 100% happy with the design. My first tattoo looks absolutely perfect!

I saw Jordan Frank for a cover up at Gastown Tattoo parlour and left in shock. He did an AMAZING job. Not only did he cover up a part of my sleeve but he blended it perfectly back into it. He cause ZERO scar tissue which is a common thing with tattoo artists. He has a nice light touch. He makes you feel comfortable right away and the vibe was awesome. Highly recommend going to him.

Amazing experience with Jade. She made me feel super comfortable, and the tattoo she designed for me was beyond what I had originally envisioned. Highly recommend getting a tattoo made by her!

I got laser removal from Cleo. What a lovely human being! She made me feel at ease and was a pleasure to work with. Prices are the best ive seen, and the she gives u a good hit so you dont need that many sessions. I cant recommend enough. Regards, Chico

I had tried to get in with one of their artists for over a year, but I would never get any response back. And after a year I finally get an appointment, and they cancelled on the day of! Boo, hissss!

Jota is a really good tattoo artist! Overall they are professional and friendly! The environment is good!

Easily the best experience I've ever had getting tattooed! My artist Olivia was so welcoming, kind, and patient. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable at every step in the process, and really listened to what I was asking for. The day started out stressful and she immediately put me at ease, and made sure I could just focus on being tattooed. Miko was also incredibly kind during my time there, helping me over the phone and in person, and even offering me their food when I needed a snack. Everyone went above and beyond, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how my tattoo turned out. I'd recommend everyone come here!

Don't get tattooed here. My tattooer was late and left a window open even though it was winter. I was freezing cold during my appointment, and he was rude to me the entire time. It took twice as long as he estimated so I paid twice as much as I budgeted for. This was my worst ever experience at a tattoo shop.

Super friendly staff! I got to spend 50 minutes trying to get out of a dark room. The puzzles were well thought out and honestly, it was the most fun I've had in a while! Will definitely be back!

I had a terrible experience with Alexis Thompson, who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She also left scarring due to being too heavy handed (I was bleeding a lot during the process as well).

The shop owner was nice and called to apologize about the situation; however, that doesn't make up for the fact that I am now scarred due to amateur work, and having to get another artist to fix her mess.

My first and only tattoo that I received from a woman working at Gastown Tattoo Parlour was a massive mistake. First, I sent ahead pictures of what I wanted -it looked nothing like the pictures I sent and the "artist" said that they had their own take on the imagery. I'm the one paying for something that will be on my skin for the rest of my life.do it the way I want. Second, when she put the temporary one on, she got the saying wrong and had to change it. Third, she tattooed it so close and small, it has completely bled into itself and you can't read was it says. Just a horrible tattoo artist with little skill IMO.

The place is very accommodating and they have a very professional and attentive tattoo artist. Gives attention to details and gives good suggestions.

Had a Tattoo today with Amanda and it was incredible! Blown away by the skill and attention to detail that was put into the piece. It was a pencil sketch linework type design and the line weights and sensibilities of the reference drawing was translated perfectly. Still in awe.

Couldn't be happier, the actual shop itself is very clean and professional as well, very comfy. I would recommend the shop to anyone.

Got a tattoo from Lou and ended up with scars it was pretty evident that the needles were dull but he didn’t change them when he went to the shop to do a follow up with him the staff at the shop were extremely rude and ignored me until I made a point to get their attention I would never recommend getting a tattoo here they have a very “interesting” attitude towards newer costumers

Awesome! I didn’t feel any pain at all. I showed them the tattoo and it was very accurate. During the procedure, they make sure that the customer’s minds are distracted. They engage in interesting and funny conversations, so the customers don’t feel any pain. Reasonable rates. To top it all, after the procedure, they provide clear instructions of how to maintain the tattoo in a hygienic way, for the following few weeks, to avoid any possible infection/s. Highly recommend

Made appointment few weeks ahead. Come just to find out that the "artist" is not there. Very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful for costumers.

I have been going to Cleo for tattoo removal for 5 sessions so far. She is so lovely, makes a painful experience enjoyable. She is very knowledgeable, and realistic. No pushing to hard and blistering or scaring trying to remove faster like some other shops do.

Amanda was absolutely amazing.
My pet portrait is beautiful (dog) and looks exactly like him. I'm in love with it. She was great to deal with and her line work is A1

I've worked with both Matt M and Baily here and had nothing but good experiences. I've had primarily small pieces but my husband has had some long sessions in the shop. It can be super intimidating walking into some shops but both of these guys were relaxed and easygoing. My advice, look at the artists portfolios before you call to book - the shop has a diverse group of artists and will ask who you want to work with. The rates were what I would expect to pay for this quality of a tattoo. I will definitely be back again.

I was TERRIFIED of getting my laser tattoo removal done (I over think) I had a lot of anxiety prior but Cleo made the experience super comforting & she was patient and very kind to me! I used Emla numbing cream which helped a lot and didn’t experience any blistering or bleeding afterwards. The price was super reasonable also I would recommend this place!

I got a large piece by Arlin Ffrench over 2 sessions. It has now totally healed and I love it beyond my expectations. Arlin was patient and friendly throughout, and it was a great experience. The staff were quite helpful and friendly too. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Arlen is fantastic! Great conversationalist, great tattooer. If you love his style I highly suggest checking out him to getting a great tattoo. The shop was clean and very professional. The gallery was really cool as well.

I first learned that Gastown Tattoo also does laser tattoo removal from a coworker. I’d been putting off removal for years because every laser clinic I’d spoken to had such expensive quotes. I have two tattoos that I want gone, and one of them is fairly large, so having to pay per square inch really drove up the cost. But my coworker told me he was paying an extremely reasonable rate and his tattoo was fading very well. I went to Gastown for a consultation and was shocked to hear that they would charge me a fraction of what other clinics quoted. If I hadn’t seen the results on my coworker’s tattoo with my own eyes, I might’ve thought it was too good to be true.

I’ve since seen Cleo for several sessions and couldn’t be happier with the results so far. My lighter tattoo is almost completely gone, and the heavy, stubborn linework on my other tattoo is looking very faded and fragmented. Cleo has amazing bedside manner, explains everything very clearly, and has a fast and steady hand. It is different for everyone, as bodies and tattoos all respond in their own way, but I’ve never had any bleeding or blistering after a treatment. My only regret is that I didn’t find out about Gastown Tattoo and Cleo a lot sooner.

Walked in and girl at the door was rude. She was doing us a favor by answering our questions. Left and went somewhere else. We both got great tattoos and nice people

An hour before my appointment the front desk person called me to tell me that the artist could not see me because he had an emergency. Which is totally understandable, it can happen.

What I can’t stand for is her complete rudeness. When I explained that I was a little upset at the turn of events and if maybe I can get an urgent appointment or see another artist (it was a small piece I was getting), she laughed at me. LAUGHED. And said “yeah ok. ” And then hung up.

After that terrible episode I didn’t even want to make an appointment here and I went somewhere else.

So if anyone from the parlour is reading this review I want you to know that your front desk people are genuinely horrible and they cause you to lose your clients.

They were quick to reply to my email. They were able to accommodate my needs for a tattoo. The place was clean and the tattoo artist was very patient with me to ensure the tattoo I was getting was perfect. Dave was a great artist and I would come for another tattoo from him!

Have had several tattoos done here from Henry and Amanda. Super welcoming staff, consistently good work done.

Terrible customer service. I was in contact with them for two months. I emailed them. Called them and dropped trying to organise an appointment then the day I was meant to go in they said they didn't have a slot for over a month. Bunch of hipsters with no integrity.

Just got some laser removal. Such a great and comfortable environment. They are definitely bar setters in the industry. Absolutely gorgeous studio and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended! I own a tattoo studio in Vancouver and I refer my clients to them all the time. Must visit studio.

Get there at 11am (opening time) if you’re looking to do a walk-in. Super helpful front desk staff. Got mine done by Tio Lu (@tiolu_tattoo check him out on IG). Incredibly accommodating with some specific ideas I had in mind.

After losing the clip on my body piercing while in the city I called in to see if they sold any or could direct me to somewhere that could.
Downright bloody rude doesn't cover it. As soon as I mentioned piercing the woman kept interrupting me to tell me they don't do piercings. Yes I understand that I said but.and interrupted again. Manners cost nothing. There wasn't anyone else waiting so it wasn't like I was blocking other customers. I walked out in the end and to think I was planning to book in for some new artwork on my next trip. Got better places to spend my money than here. Nice thing about the experience was 2 customers in the shop ran out after me to offer help and alternative directions.

Got a wolf by Mitch who I was told by all employees at Adrenaline on Granville that he was “the best traditional artist in Vancouver”.

Extremely happy - not only is he the best, he’s incredibly fast. His personality sucks but whatever (just kidding! He’s a rad dude!) Daily I’ve been getting compliments - the work speaks for itself.

The shop is so freakin cool looking too, with lots of cool folks working there who love to chat about tattoos. Only complaint is he’s been solid booked up due to high-demand but I expect that when you want “the best in town”. Though he does have a fair system where he (at the time of this) books only one week at a time for walk-ins, so everyone has a chance.

Easily one of the best tattoo studios in Vancouver with a prestigious roster of talent. Had work done by Cody Zeek and Boone Naka and am overwhelmingly happy with the results! Definitely will be coming back.

This is one of my favourite tattoo studios with some of my favourite artists that I’ve worked with. It’s also where I get laser tattoo removal and Ed and his team are amazing.

I had the first session for a tattoo removal and it went brilliantly. I highly recommend Cleo, she knows what she’s doing and I felt totally at ease. A very cool and welcoming environment.

Terrible booking experience. I was booked in with one artist only for the shop to call back the next day to cancel on me. I was offered a few artists I could rebook with. After reviewing their work, I called back the next day to rebook with one, only to be told he is was no longer available either. Pretty lacklustre customer service.

Staff was mostly professional. The artist did a really good job on my tattoo. It was relatively painless. Only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I felt like the staff took it personally when I didn’t go with their recommendation for placement, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I’m happy with my chosen placement though and I’m glad I decided to go ahea because the tattoo looks amazing and is healing really well!

Recently started a sleeve with Mitch! It was my first tattoo and Mitch made sure I was comfortable and okay throughout the whole process. Not only is he fast (3 hours for almost a full coloured forearm), he is also really good! Would highly recommend!
