Gates Park

Love this park, great place to walk your dog, or sit and enjoy the sun. Too bad they will be ripping it all out to put in FIFA style soccer fields that no one asked for. In the middle of many quiet townhomes and apartment buildings. Such a disappointing move by the Poco Mayor.

We have a nice afternoon at the beautiful Gates Park. Along the Coquitlam river, people go hiking or biking on the green trail, and enjoy the natural gift. There are many spacious sports fields and other facilities that are well maintained. I found an air kit for cyclists on the way. It’s really thoughtful. Love the artworks on the ground.

Well maintained facilities. Poco trail winds around it - great for walkers, joggers and bikes. Playground, outdoor gym, fields, tennis.and spacious well groomed fields. Limited parking, best to walk or bike there.

Had a nice roam around this morning to let go some stress. Little work out. First concession is tidy and up to good standard. The park looks great. Sat on a bench, chat with a friend. 5 stars.

Update: new artificial turf being installed at the front of Gates, should be a welcome upgrade for the many teams that are using it.

Original review: Well kept, brightly lit, great facility with lots of options. There's good walking paths that connect to the PoCo trail, playground structure that's a hit with the kids, tennis courts, artificial and natural turfs. Cheap and reasonably priced concession is open in the summer.

Gates Park is awesome. From the wonderful amount of field space, delicious food from Game day and lots of parking, Gates Park is a brilliant place in Poco.

One my of my favorite parks for walking. Has a paved ring path around the park and public bathrooms. The parking lot is also convenient. Great park for walking

Love this park, lots of walking and cycling tracks and football fields. A great place to play Frisbee. It also have a kids play park.

I absolutely love this park. Whilst it is not offleash for dogs, your dog will still love it here. The availability for kids to interact and play sports is amazing and the park is impressively maintained. There's a mucky trail that runs by the river and there's a clean path for bikes and walking. Not many parks offer this much in one go

Great fields and perfect if either you're playing or watching a game. Numerous trails and weekend concession. Great for dog walking as well.

Lots of trails all through the park and along the creek with plenty of space for picnicking. Also lots of sports fields of all kinds throughout the park. Perfect place to bring the family!

Nice place for a really long walk.and there are paths to walk down to the water, some of these are good spots for some cute pictures

Beautiful nature, ample fields and accommodations for group activity. Be wary of bears and others if you go into the wooded area.

Lots of room for multiple sport activitys. Great place to spend with the family and walk your dog

Sunday night soccer in early December and you can't see one corner of the field due to fog Did anyone from City of PoCo research this before putting in sports fields.

Great park well maintained, lots of space and parking. Access to the poco trail and coquitlam river. Lots a baseball soccer and tennis courts. Seems like there is always something going on there on weekends.

Gates park is a good park because durring the summer they play movies in the park also the fields for sports are nice and if you play pokemon go then you will love this park because there is a trail that has ton of stops and a ex raid gym there also that gives this place 5 stars

Amazing patch of greenery bang in the center of Coquitlam City. The park offers some good trails to unwind alongside water features.

Though parking is limited - the place is worth visiting.

Great walking path. Pet friendly. Clean indoor washrooms. Concession stand has great fish'n chip.

Easy path to walk, bike or rollerblade. Softball fields, a baseball field, workout stations and easy access to a clear river. I'd give a 5 star, but Pajos wasn't open this year. Also, a short walk beside the river to Lions Park. If you don't find what you want at a park, head to Lions Park, it has the rest.

Great Park with many options, you can bike, skate, play on playground, football, tennis, eat fish and chips, exercise on the equipment available along the trail, nice river views.

Gates Park is beautiful, part of the Poco trail so for cycling there is a lovely elevated track for bikes and walkers next to the river. Tennis courts, great play equipment, training stations if you want to work out and in the summer people come here to swim in the river because it's shallow in places. Home to Poco Soccer and a few baseball pitches, toilets that were clean and open; what's not to like. There is a bit of parking lot too. Perfect!

Its a nice park, along the river. It has a dog off leash park. Its kept clean. Sometimes it smells like rotting fish, during the spawning season.

I love to go here with sisters, cousins, or other family. There's no spray park, but it still is a good place for a water gun fight. There is also a Pajo's fish and chip place, as well as water fountains. This park is good for all ages, with a playground, giant fields, many outdoor gyms and a good stroll around the perimeter.

The fields are well kept and the park is always very clean. Different fields offer lots of variety for different sports. Most fields are not public though

Nice place for outing with family and it has sport complex too with baseball, football and tennis play ground plus it's has excerise machine and walking, running tracks

Very nice park with about 5 or 6 soccer and baseball fields turf and grass. Announcers building, covered seating for spectators and players, exercise station and heated indoor bathrooms, reasonably kept, cleanliness inside.

Great place to play and watch some aoccer, go for a quick walk with the dog or have an easy workout on the outdoor gym. Good anytime of the year!
