General Grant’s South Shore Bottle Depot

The manager chewed me out for showing up 10 minutes to close. Refused to take my empties when I said well google says you’re open 10 more minutes and then her employee chores in saying they were closing because it’s Sunday and they want to go home. If I treated customers like this my place would be blasted and I wouldn’t hear the end of it- but a bottle Depot can.
Unacceptable behaviour by the manager and the long term employee. Do better.

I arrived 50 minutes before close june 30th 2022 and was turned away. The manager said her employees were dropping like flies from the heat and she had to let them go. It was 25 and its the day before the long weekend, the reality is the manager was being lazy and wanted to go home for the long weekend early. BC bottle depots are granted licences in much the same way as liquor stores, closing early is not acceptable. I shouldnt be forced to drive across town wasting gas because of your ineptitude. I will be searching for a way to reach out to return it corporate since this is not the first time they have closed early and made me waste a trip.

Love all the staff here. They work hard in the winter and in the super hot summer. Always smiling and happy to see me. This is the only depot I go to.

Great! Busy, they have a great system for keeping a customers place in the line. Only waited 20 minutes to get my empties returned. Worth the drive from upper Sahalli as they sort your empties.

Great quick service and super friendly staff. I see reviews about how they do the sorting for you, and that is nice of them for sure, but what heck are you people doing with your recycling that makes it so gross? Wash them out when done and you wont have a problem, and yeah, if you brought a bunch of bags 15 minutes before close, I wouldn't be happy, but I would sort your stuff if there was time, if they didn't think so, go back the next day a little earlier or take your bags in stages. These people work hard, make little money and have to deal with people yelling at them and covid. We are lucky to have them. Treat them and everyone with some respect. Grow up people. Again, 5 stars, well done, and thank you for being here in these trying times.

If every bottle place did it this way, more people would recycle, guaranteed. They sort and count your returns for you, its awesome.

7 bag limit dont see it posted out on door,
2 month prior was 530 pm close, showed up 515pm and got the earful 3 bags was to much before close.

As far as bottle depots go, this one is luxurious. The staff sort the recyclables for you and are quite courteous. I had to recycle some stuff while I was in Kamloops. Carried some bottles cans and a car battery across town and when I was tired they took all my cans for me and sorted them without a question, paid me in full as expected.
