Ginza Ichiban

The kitchen is over flowing into the dinning area with freezers and deliveries right in the middle of eating.

We came in and sat ourselves and nobody said anything to us. Not a word about if we had to go to the till to order or even offer a glass of water. This restaurant is obviously best for ordering take out and show up when it’s ready. After 15-20 minutes of nothing said to us we got up and left.

I visit Quesnel every year to visit with family and my sister-in-law and I have a tradition to eat here for lunch. The food is great and the service is very good too.

Overall disappointing experience. I couldn't find their whole menu so I Facebook messaged them. Their auto message said the menu was on their page so I looked harder and found a menu from 2016. When they responded to my message they said they won't be posting an updated menu because prices change.most take-out menus have disclaimers and its far easier to update online menus then it is the printed menu customers have at home. New customers calling in take-out also don't have the printed menu to look at. We made an order off the only full menu available to us. A roll that was supposed to be baked was raw. Flavors were good but the food ended up not sitting well with me and I got sick.

Go to the place at 745 they close at 830 they say they had very busy day so we close early your advertised to be open till 830.

First sushi place I ate at when I came to Quesnel, and I was not disappointed. Good prices too!

I find myself trying to compare other sushi joints to Ginza unsuccessfully. Their staff is always pleasant, welcoming, and attentive.
I often enjoy watching my meal being prepared by exceptionally skilled hands.

Food was ok. Too much rice in the rolls for my liking. Service was good though and it looked nice and well kept inside.

Absolutely wonderful, thank you for great service and great good. I had the Hot Stone Yakimesi, OMG what flavour. Every bite was flavorsome to my palate. The food was hot to the very end which was a plus for sure. I shall return and I highly recommend that people check it out.

We absolutely loved the previous restaurant and the great service there! Covid has done so much damage to the dining out experience in so many restaurants. The food is still great but the prices have jumped a lot and the service is not the same. A lot of restaurants have gone back to the old ways of service, but unfortunately, Ginza has not as of yet anyway. I really hope one day they will.
Our patronage has definitely lessened because of it all.

Woohoo ginza is back with dine in and today's meal was amazing so happy to be able to go in and enjoy it again

Always delicious food, & quick and friendly service. Never too busy to get a table if you want to dine in, and a very cool atmosphere

Have been getting food from these guys since they first opened up in town.
It is always fresh and delicious! And the employees are always welcoming and kind.

This place is one of our go to places. They recently moved locations to a more local spot, with a much larger parking lot, and super modern. We always get our food in a timely manner, and it's delicious. Staff our wonderful, and always smiling. Very welcoming

My order was delicious. I only got a chance to try their bibimbap and prawn tempura. Both are amazing 10/10. It came with miso soup - also very good. Ordered mine for take out, service was fast, inside was quiet and tables are nicely spaced apart. Would love to try more from the menu when I get a chance to come back to Quesnel.

Trying this place for the first time.

I am perplexed at the concept.

Is this a night club after hours? Looks like 5 tables in a 2000sq foot room, you order at the till, but they bring your food to the table.why not have servers? There is enough staff on for it. 5 tables, 3 front of the house staff. Saying they don't have staff to serve tables is silly.

Food comes in to go boxes? Soy sauce in a to go remekin? Can hardly blend my Wasabi.

Rolls are decent, but way way too much rice. The quality of the internal ingredients (scallop, tuna, avocado) is good. Not knocking freshness at all. Maki is nearly half rice and half ingredients. Way too much rice. It takes a nice delicate roll and covers it up with rice. I barely taste what I'm eating. I'm having to remove rice and pile it up in the corner of this take out container.

Order a lot less off the menu than you think you need, you will be full of rice before you know it. In 6 pieces of tuna avocado roll I have removed over 1cup of rice. It's just not enjoyable.

Felt like a nice sit down meal in a restaurant, but feel more like I am in a cafeteria.

45 minutes until closing time and they are mopping the floor with pine sol as I eat. Had to ask of they are closed. What an awful way to finish up a mediocre experience. I feel like dropping this to one star but that seems harsh.

The staff are pleasant but seem unaware of my rice pile or the smell of cleaning agent permeating the room as their guests try to enjoy their food and drink. Pine sol doesn't pair well with the delicate beauty of Japanese food.

I won't come back. Its decent enough but I was hoping to have a restaurant experience. Wishing I just ordered a beer and sake, and skipped the rolls.

The owners response sounds like "you don't know me! " My reply is "I gave you a chance and wasn't impressed"

The owner refers to "this is what people want" well, the people don't seem to want authentic high quality sushi and rolls apparently.

Their star rating was what brought me in the door.

If you want to be full really fast, I guess this is the place. But if you want sushi where the kitchen cares about their cultural food, maybe middle of BC isn't the place to find it. I should have known better.

To be clear, the ingredients are quality and fresh, but what is being done with those great ingredients is sad. I won't be going back to a place that represents their cultural cuisine poorly.
