Glass Doctor of North Vancouver

I had glass doctor install mirrors on some medicine cabinete doors. The doors already had mirrors but the glue was failing so it was to replicate what was already existing but with different glue. The price was expensive but i was expecting a high end result. The existing mirrors were installed perfectly so they had an idea of how well they needed to be, i had also said to the salesman it needs to be perfect.

I picked them up from their shop and went straight to the job to install them for the client. They hadn't been cleaned so I was cleaning then off the back of my truck before entering the clients house. I then realized how poorly they were installed. Some mirrors were too small, not glued consistently, glued on an an angle. Just sub par work for such a high price. I immediately contacted glass doctor to let them know this wasn't good enough and something had to be done. 3 days later I get a phone call from Rashid the glass installer screaming down the phone to me.the customer. Glass doctors logic is "if I took it away from their shop, it's my problem now". Those were the actual words. I guess my standards are too high for them, taking responsibility for your own work.

I then escalated it to who I thought was his manager. He spoke to me on the phone and asked for emails with pictures. I have had no reply or contact from them since. I've rang multiple times, emailed and text messaged. Finally speaking to a salesman I was informed that his manager was actually the owner of the business! The owner is ignoring me and not rectifying any problems. Purely a poor business with poor workmanship lead by a a man with no conscience, The glass butcher.

Needless to say this was a big waste of time and money for me. If you need glass go to Vancouver Glass. They are professionals with much better workmanship.

Glass Doctor has moved no longer at 1455 crown street! They have no location in north Vancouver.

I ordered a shower glass door from glass doctor March 27th. I've had the techs come 3 times and each time, I've been told the glass is manufactured incorrectly. I inspected the work recently and the fixed glass is installed on the wrong side allowing water to leak through. The fixed glass is also not level and the top rolling bar has been bent. This is absolutely unacceptable and I've been offered a $100 off. Sure, that's something, but I'm getting sub par quality for 3 months and to see this, it feels like I'm getting robbed of my money. I've been in contact with Angelo and he has been understanding, yet it is now June 19th and I am still left without a shower door. He gave me the contact to the owner a week ago and I haven't heard anything back. I am left extremely frustrated. I contemplated leaving this review for many weeks and have hit my wits end not feeling reassured that the next time they come by, it will be done correctly.

I had previously used Glass Doctor North Vancouver to do 2 shower jobs as well as replace the glass in a sliding door. That door is now not sliding as it should. I just called Glass Doctor and they are now charging $500 just to roll a truck! I find this completely offensive and will now not use them again.

Called yesterday to get somebody to help with an issue on the glass sliding door in the bathroom that they installed, never got the call back from head office. Called again today and the same thing happened. I'm still waiting to get a call back from head office to schedule somebody in to help us out. Not impressed.

ROBERT AND JONE did a really.good.jobs for.my.unit they did it.professional replacement for.all.windows and.also.helps change.the.wheels of.silding door so.it is.not.noises anymore.after all.the jobs done.they also.cleans.up after themselves.it.was done fast and clean didnt left.anything behind. I really liked what.they.have done.for my apartment.

Great service, followed up on arrival of glass booked appointment following day.
Told was going to be a 3 hours job they called said ready to pick up 2.5 hours later.
A pleasant professional experience.

UPDATE: Since my review above, I submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint - they did not respond at all.

Some time after that, I received a call from "Ron" who claimed to be the manager. He said that he would sort out my issue. After some text exchange where he said he would come by and take a look at my door, I never heard from him again. I stand by my review above now with the "manager". Find another glass repair place because if something goes wrong, these guys just run away and hide.

I am now left with no choice but to take them to court. Be warned.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: In reading all the reviews and my own experience, I would say that if everything goes well, you maybe ok with this company but if something goes wrong with the job, they walk away from any accountability. For that reason, I would strongly recommend that you find another company to avoid being completely screwed if something goes wrong.

My own story is that the outer pane of glass on our wood front door was accidentally shattered by our gardener. Glass Doctor was very responsive at first doing a fast quote, ordering the replacement glass and then installing all within a week.

However, when I got home, I realized that their technician had done a bunch of damage to our wood door while installing the glass taking gouges out of the wood and generally scratching and poorly finishing the work. The technician admitted to the damage to my sister-in-law who was there at the time.

Initially, they seemed responsive to my complaint but then sent the same technician back to examine the door – clearly very unhappy about it. He concluded that it would have to be replaced. Apparently, they did send someone else although I was not home at the time and never heard back from them again.

The original sales guy, Justin, promised that the issue would be handled but then completely washed his hands of it. Since then, I have left messages and sent emails and they do not return them.
There are some other glass repair places on the North shore. Pick one of them as they are more likely to stand behind their work if something goes wrong.

Ryan and Dasha were incredibly helpful. My windshield was fixed in half and hour and I was on my way. I highly recommend this place.

I have used this shop on more than one occasion, and have to say that they are consistently excellent. They did an outstanding job on replacing my windshield, in the usual professional and friendly manner.

We had a leak from one of our skylight in the winter. We covered it with turf to prevent the leak and waited for summer to fix it. In summer I called Glass Doctor because they were local business. They sent a technician the end of July. I clearly told the technician that he has to fix the seal around the glass. He told me it is fixed and there won't be any more leaks. They charged me $235.00 for an hour for one technician.

With the first heavy Fall rain, the skylight started to leak again. Exactly the same as before. I contacted Glass Doctor a few times talked to Chris and their receptionist. I said they need to send their technician back to fix the problem. I even went to their office in North Vancouver. They totally ignored me. Their customer service and work ethic is very bad. Stay away from this business or you will lose your money.

First-time customer for repair of a windshield chip. Very impressed with the customer service from Chris and the efficiency of booking the appointment and having the work done. They did all the legwork with my private insurance company. Made the whole process very easy. Won't hesitate to give them a call in the future.

Almost 10 days waiting for a clear estimate for a piece of flat glass, Called them couple times and each time they keep saying we are sending a message on your phone and very confusing!

Wonderful. Efficient and friendly service. I went in to get a chip on my windshield filled. They directly billed to ICBC, I didn't have to deal with ICBC at all. Hopefully I don't get another chip on my windshield but if I do I will definitely come back here again

We live in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast and used Glass Doctor for supply and install of the glass in our showers. Darren, Trevor and Justin were very professional, friendly and communicative throughout the project. The glass is perfect, it is exactly what we wanted!

Very professional friendly staff and an excellent job well done. We have had a windshield replaced previously and have now had a rock chip repair done in a timely manner. I had two vehicles that required windshield repairs. Young man that attended (Ryan Cox) was very professional. One of the windshields was near needing a total replacement, but Ryan managed to save it by completing the repairs. Ryan completed the work on both vehicles efficiently and professionally. I was very impress with the quality of work.

My mechanic sent me here after my windshield was hit by a rock.

Everyone was professional, as well as considerate, and given the Covid precautions in place, I was very impressed by the experience.

We put our bike rack through our back window on Monday night. I emailed a request for service and Justin called me at 8: 10 the next morning, confirming that the job can be done THAT DAY! I did get another quote, but Glass Doctor was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper!
The car was dropped off and picked up again within 6 hours - all fixed!
We are thrilled with this service and Justin was helpful, professional and offered a very fair price to us. We would highly recommend the Glass Doctor!

Professional installation on car with sensors in the windshield. Vacuumed the carpets, provided a can of glass cleaner, and returned the car in clean condition. Highly recommend.

I had my rear windshield broken into on Sunday of a long weekend. Called Glass Dr on Monday (Holiday) John was nice enough to come to the store when they were closed so I could drop my car, work started on Tuesday and was done same day! Excellent Job! Chris went over the invoice with me and took care of everything.

I was visiting Vancouver when my back window got smashed. I called Glass doctor and spoke to Ron. Since I was going through out of province insurance, I thought it was going to be tough to get the whole situation sorted out. Ron went out of his way to call my insurance adjuster and chat about logistics. He got me booked in promptly and the fix was done in a very timely manner. They tried to repair something that they later said had a 99.9% chance of failing, but did not warn me appropriately, so their repair ended up costing me the replacement of the windshield. They take no responsibility of their actions. I would never recommend this company for any work or repair.

These guys are great. Efficient and easy going. They came to repair a vandalized window at my workplace, just to inform us that we had a terrific shutter security system for the window that we simply didn't know about. It was a pleasure to have them fix our window.

Reached out to GD to quote on my shower door. In the end I chose an equally well known company with a similar warranty and more competitive price; I'm very satisfied with the work done in my ensuite. I thanked GD for quoting, but then started to recieve the incessant, repetitive and unrelenting emails and text messages asking me to move forward with the quote, reach out for info and read our testimonials. I unsubscribed from emails but still receive the texts. I'm glad I didn't choose a company to install a precision piece of glass that can't even manage their marketing.

The pick up vehicle and drop off, that is a very great option, as most cannot leave work and wait for it to finish. AWESOME work as well, never an issue
