Had dinner last night to celebrate my hubby’s birthday. Kitchen was slow to turn out food. We ordered before 7: 30 pm. Every course took almost an hour! We finally have to hurry and eat our dessert and managed to leave at 10 pm! Ruined our plan to go somewhere else afterwards.

Wow, what a great experience. The service was a bit slow because the place was packed! Every bite of food was enjoyable, and the service was perfect. Very clean too, so I’m not sure what the other post referred to. The steak I had was the best I’ve had in awhile. The sauce it came with was too sweet, and the steak needed a little more seasoning for my taste, but that’s what table salt’s for. A+

The restaurant is inside the airport. You can park at the airport parking for free. Food is delicious and the presentation is top notch too. Price is on the higher end, around $90 per person. Overall we had great experience here and would definitely come again.

We came in for dinner last night as we were staying at the Fairmont.
Was a little caught off-guard at the prices. $42 for a burger. But other than that, kelt was great.
Mostly, the service. We were lucky to have had Cheri helping us. She was so friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt, which as the evening went on was even more impressive as it was so busy.
I will certainly recommend this spot to fellow travellers.

Super impressed with the updated menu and overall experience. This is the best quality food at YVR - 1000%. It's pricey, but the quality is by far the best food at the entire airport.

Lovely place to grab a meal and a few cocktails while watching planes move about the airport

We used Groupon for their high tea set. Good thing it was heavily discounted but seriously for a hotel restaurant, this was not up to standard. Everything felt it was randomly put together, the flavours don’t work well.
The saving grace were the scones, those were really good.

Food is great. Service is great but if your sitting at the bar, the ac is blasting. It's almost unbearable. I would have stayed longer had I not become an ice cube!

Nice place to watch people and see the activities on the runway. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and overpriced. Service was also very slow.

Sat down and ordered 2 coffee. The waitress brought them over promptly. We had about 2 sips when we started smelling something awful. My 7 year old daughter could smell it from the other side of the table. I stood up and sniffed around. Finally I found that the seat I was sitting on smelled like URINE! I told the waitress and she asked if I wanted a different table. I told her no thank you, I've lost my appetite and we would be leaving.

Now remember, we've been in the restaurant for about 3 minutes and had 2 sips of our coffees. Not specialty coffees, just regular black coffee.

The waitress brings me a bill for $14.70. That's when I realize these guys are pathetic and I would leave this experience on a review.

Don't eat here. They've probably burned that chair by now but I also feel burned. Horrible service, smelly restaurant. Take a pass.

Tried the afternoon tea, not impressed. Honestly for $79/person, I expected more quality. We have tried over 10 afternoon tea restaurants over the years, the only good one is Urban Tea Merchant in Downtown Vancouver, but it’s closed.

The tea here I would rate it below average, afternoon tea set is average but if you consider the price, it’s definitely not worth it. Service was not bad, but I expected more if it’s under the name of Fairmont. Kid menu is good, my daughter enjoyed the food.

Unfortunately I think the interior of the restaurant is really outdated; the presentation of food needs some improvement; the view of YVR is the only highlight of the experience.

I wouldn’t recommend to try the afternoon tea here.

Best thing about YVR Airport is this lounge in the Fairmont Hotel. Beautiful views, outstanding service, good bar. When I am finished a business trip it’s a little slice of heaven to not have to wait in a food court and feel like I’m in an airport.

We made a phone reservation for an afternoon tea at the YVR Fairmont to celebrate Easter. There was a lot of excitement especially since we had a fantastic high tea experience at the Fairmont Empress just a few weeks before. I'm sad to report that we did not have a good experience here.

We arrived a few minutes after our allotted time as we had to battle through the reconfigured airport parking caused by the ongoing renovations. We checked in reasonably quickly and were ushered to our table. The designated table was rather noisy, however we managed to be relocated to a quieter spot.

While waiting for our assigned server 'J' we were approached by another staff member 'R' informing us that we had to commit to four full afternoon tea orders instead of the three full and one junior teas that we wanted. She said that we should have specified this in our reservation since the kitchen cannot accommodate a junior tea at the last minute. We did not have any choice but to oblige. Interestingly the hotel staff member who took our phone reservation never asked us for this information and only asked for the number of guests and whether there were any special requests to which I only requested a peanut free meal for a family member. At this point we were more concerned whether our child who is a very picky eater would even eat any of the savory food items from the full order.

A few minutes later 'R' returned and surprisingly told us that the kitchen would comply and make the junior tea, to our relief. I suspect that they noticed while adjusting our order that we were paying full menu prices rather than the Groupon deals many of the other patrons were using. However we were again lectured on how we need to specify our orders precisely next time we make a reservation not knowing that we were never asked that question when we made our phone reservation.

Our tea arrived shortly after this exchange and about ten minutes later a different server brought our treats on three separate towers. He was very courteous and described all the different treats to us. At this point our designated server 'J' still had not attended to us. We had to inform the staff member at the check in desk a few times during our visit just to get any type of service. A big part of the high tea experience is the service and the sense you get of being specially attended to. There was essentially no service.

The treats both savory and sweet were just average at best, especially for the price of $79 per full order. Would also have preferred to have more savory to sweet treats.

This was a very disappointing experience overall especially when comparing this to what we experienced at the Fairmont Empress a few weeks earlier.

We did leave some gratuity specifically for service we received from the unassigned server who brought and described our treats and topped up our tea.

Appreciated the complimentary parking that was provided.

The afternoon tea at the Fairmont YVR is not recommended unless their service and food quality is improved significantly.

The service is fantastic every time we go to the YVR Fairmont, which is why we done there for special occasions even though we live in Vancouver. Also great with a young child as they can be distracted by the planes.

We arrived with a group of five on a busy Saturday night. Once we were seated in the bar/lounge, we were greeted and ordered quite promptly. Food arrived in a reasonable time. A great dining experience with the mountains and airport as your backdrop, I'm looking forward to coming back

Good fast eats after a long flight. Pricey but worth the cost when you're not wanting fast food and not much else to eat after landing and baggage claim. Expected expense in a 5 star hotel!

Arguably the most overpriced average restaurant in all of lower mainland. $51 for a burger with fries and a beer! The fries were soggy, the burger was way too big for a normal human to eat and it was not even that good. If you want a burger go to a fast food chain (A&W) in the terminal and you will get a better quality burger and fries for 1/3 of the price. Unless you are going for the view of the mountain and airplanes, do not go there.trust me!

We went here to celebrate Valentines Day and last we came was to celebrate for my husband’s birthday. Both experiences were great. Food and ambiance are both fantastic, would highly recommend this place for any special occasions.

Their drinks are on point. Extremely refreshing. The server was extremely attentive and friendly.
Had the mushroom risotto, which was good. Love the ice wine jelly and balsamic pearls.but the risotto on its own. Could use a little more seasoning.

We had a wonderful high tea experience! The food was excellent and our server, Ben, was wonderful.

Been here a few times, each time the staffs were very friendly. Tried their Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings and Aperol Sparkle drink, both were very tasty.

Great place to eat and relax, before your flight to where ever you need to go. YVR a great airport.

Really nice setting, with views of the coastal mountains, and later the lights on Cypress and other close-in ski hills. It was busy on this Saturday evening, but the tables are comfortably spaced out. We didn't try any of the mains, but the calamari & dip was really tasty. Tried the crab bisque, which had a lovely color and consistency, but there was no crab flavor. The Spring salad was lovely. Good wine selection with a few local BC ones on offer. The habanero marguerita was flavorful but could have been a touch heavier on the tequila (another 1/2 to 1 oz would have been perfect). Cristinica offered pleasant and attentive service. The help with the cost of parking was a nice touch.

There is no better accompaniment for the gloomy Vancouver rain than sitting along the window enjoying Eggs Benedict, crispy split potatoes, and a coffee with good company. The food was wonderful, the staff pleasant, and the ambiance is calming. Expect a heftier bill than average brunch costs in town, however. Roughly $80 for two breakfasts, coffee, and tip.

Took the family here for lunch and they absolutely loved it. Food was delicious, atmosphere is nice, staff is phenomenal

Used the Groupon for afternoon tea. The service we got from Josh was excellent. The tea selection was good. Generous portion of food, but the offerings were hit or miss. On one hand the chicken puff pastry sandwich was good. On the other hand, the beet pickled, devilled egg is a hard no for me. Don't think I'd pay full price for that but at the Groupon price it's a nice treat once in a while.

You need to be a hotel guest at the Fairmont to eat at this restaurant. This is the first time I have encountered a rule like this in Canada. Extremely unfriendly staff and unprofessional. Seems the Fairmont brand and everything associated with it keeps getting worse by the day since the covid pandemic.

Probably the best place in the airport. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. The service, as always, acceptable. The windows give a view of the airport and the North Shore mountains. They made a very good martini.

Was a great dining experience for the afternoon tea groupon. Service was great. All covid protocols were being followed. Airport was completely dead but restaurant had a few people inside dining. Chose to have coffee instead of tea which was fresh. Great selection of items on the 3 tier tray. Would definitely recommend if you have a groupon. However, if you don’t it’s very expensive.

My first time trying out Globe, I had a great experience right from the start to the end! Everyone there was very welcoming and friendly! Our server Melissa was amazing she us a five star service and helped us taking pictures. The food was delicious with big portions. Thank you for all your outstanding service and food!

My partner and I went for afternoon tea, and had a wonderful experience! It was perfect. Beautifully set, clean, calm, and pleasant.
We decided to go back for our V_Day Dinner and it was exactly what we wanted as per above. Wonderful Staff, we will be back.

The place is kids friendly Resturant. They accommodate kids with colouring and kids menu. As adults we ordered high tea which varies by season. They also provide you with a free parking pass for 3 hours. Remember to book your table and ask for modifications if you have special diet. These guys are fabulous! I go there on regular basis, they never disappoint me. COVID update, each group should not exceed 6 persons including infants.

Their Christmas turkey takeout was awesome. Great service from start to finish, catered the order to our dietary restrictions. Would definitely get again.

Utterly lackluster service. Expected more from a Fairmont location, even if it's located in an airport. Calamari was soggy and lukewarm when served. Drinks were uninspired. Server did not make us feel welcome at all and seemed like he'd rather be at home than providing us with a nice experience. Will stick to the airport lounges on next visits.

Free parking and great atmosphere. Service was fun, professional, and attentive.

Our server recommended some great teas and taught us how to best experience it.

The treats came in 3 levels. Lowest level was an amazing biscuit and a biscotti style cookie. With fresh cream and jam. The middle level was all savory sandwiches. Top level sweets.

We were there for about 90 minutes and it was a good relaxed pace.

Im just a regular joe so I would not come here at full price. But if you can get the Groupon it is much more worthwhile.

I would come back with another Groupon or if maybe the boss was paying.

This hotel and restaurant created a safe haven and nurturing community for my husband and myself during our 9 day attempt to Immigrate to Africa. The warm and understanding staff consistently went above and beyond to meet our needs on a daily basis. The food at Globe was tasty, nutritious and very well plated. This comfort was greatly appreciated. Thank you Oskana, Diana, Josephine and Richard, the Globe managers and all the staff at the Fairmont YVR. Your kindness and comfort will be long remembered.

Delicious food, great drinks. Fairly pricey but that’s a given. Staff was super friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted and more.

Good restaurant with good service. I highly recommend stopping in for a meal if you want something nice. The food was really good, definitely would go back.

The bread they serve is AMAZING! Food is pretty pricey tho and it's ok. Went for a work meeting and won't be back.

We when for the afternoon tea, me I ask? Where is the manager for food and beverage of this place? Food was good, service is probably the worst in my life.extreme slow. I will never go again totally unacceptable, if is a manager have to teach the staff.was slow and rude

The view from the table was nice but i found the food to be rather average, especially for the price. The service however was quite good.

Absolutely delightful meal, the lamb shank was tender, the seafood pot was amazing, and the honey beer bread was so yummy, we loved all our dishes!

Decided to bring my staff to a restaurant for Chinese New Year. As there was heavy snow, we decided to go somewhere close. Decided on this restaurant.

The food here was pretty good. A little bit on the expensive side, but well worth the price as the atmosphere was great. Live music and a good team makes all the difference.

The only complaint is the service. It was quite slow and we waited almost 30 minutes before someone came by.

Overall, we would come here again as the staff really enjoyed it.

Amazing service. Went for high tea but was in a rush to make an event while my friends had plenty of time. Server has everything out in a jif and didn't even charge me premium upcharge for my excellent tea! The egg nog scone was the highlight.

It is in my utter most disappointment that I write this review with such unpleasant experience at the Fairmont during the annual Christmas Eve buffet. Our server was pleased when we ordered the sparkling water but quickly turned that smile upside down when we changed to drinking soda afterwards. After a couple of refills we had to catch her attention in order to get our drinks refilled as we are still eating our dinner and even then, it took her a while to bring us our drinks. The food's quality really went downhill from previous year. Everything didn't taste as fresh and the quality just wasn't there. Our server was quick with the bill though. There was an auto gratuity of 18% when we were only a party of two (the receipt showed auto gratuity only if there were 6 or more people) and on top of that, they added the tax after charging gratuity. With the amount that they were charging, I definitely expected a lot more in terms of service and quality of food.

I have always come here for our special occasions but after this experience, I think it's time I discover places elsewhere.

Came here for afternoon high tea with my wife to celebrate our anniversary, found the amazing deal at Groupon. Great food, tea, service, and atmosphere. Ken was awesome, you're lucky if you get him as your server. To top it off, they made us feel extra special with the free chocolate covered strawberries!

Came here for high tea for the first time as a treat with my mum and made a reservation;
service was commendable (4/5) tea selection was very detailed and innovative but lacked the usual selection (eg they didn't have regular earl grey, only CREAM of earl grey).
to be honest, the food entirely not to my liking and not up to standard. We had the coronation chicken sandwich, which had a good filling but the bread underneath was stale and cold as if it had been refrigerated for a while.the smoked salmon with caviar was also a great filling - light and fresh, but the piece also felt like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while as well.what a pity!
The desserts were way too sweet and quite dry. I would've liked to see something a bit fruitier (perhaps a mousse of some sort) because all I could taste was sugar, sugar, sugar.
The scones were the saving grace and were nice and fluffy.overall, I would say the service and ambience was great, but the food was definitely sub-par for a high tea costing $70 for two people (originally $120). I hope they make some changes to the menu so that the savoury sandwiches don't taste like they came from the airport lounge refrigerator from the day before. I cannot speak for the lunch/dinner, but I would not come here again for the high tea.edit: : I had been contacted and returned for another go
