Gokudo Shabu Shabu Hot Pot-Richmond

Found this “hidden gem” while walking around Continental Shopping Centre for a dinner place. Service was fast and staff were super friendly.

We went with their combo selection with no add-ons and the bill came to just under $55. It came with your protein, chicken soup, udon noodles, daily drink and ice-cream. Sooo filling.

The server kept checking on us and refilling our chicken soup hot pot. Will definitely be coming back.

FOUND 5 BUGS WITH WINGS in my daughters soup after she had been eating it for about 10 minutes already. Showed the waitress and she said "Oh its probably the vegetables". They offered her another broth. My daughter was sick in the bathroom for the rest of the day. NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD BUGS IN MY FOOD.

Yvonne is amazing at this restaurant. Ordering is slightly complicated but the food is good and very keto friendly.

It's delicious and the service is good, the only downside is that it's a little expensive for one person

This place has been a binding place for me to go every time I crave for hotpot since 2017. No need to mention about quality and price. Every single thing is just on spot. I always forgot to bring my membership card: (but I really enjoy here. Pick seafood plate, basa fish fillet, 10oz beef. I have to remind you guys that this Gokudo is systematically different from the one nearby metrotown. So, it means membership of Gokudo metrotown cannot be applied here, and vice versa. Other than that, I love eating here. Parking lotz are everywhere. Remember to eat their desserts as well. I hope I can get 2 free hotpots here since I am a loyalty customers since 2017: eat a lot but never get a free meal (always forgot the membership card)

This is the first time I try the hot pot style combo beside the all you can eat, they have a fixed portion of the combo which includes a soup base, a meat platter and a veggie platter, a side, a drink and a dessert. They have a great variety of combo to choose from, meat or seafood or veggies.
The soup base of Tom Yum is perfect for me, spicy with a hint of sour, taste very good. The size of the portion is good enough, I can’t even finish it and need to pack away.
Even the service is very nice, polite and hard working, they also have a loyalty program, spend $25 to get a stamp, with 10 stamps you get $20 off.
I will highly recommend if you like personal hot pot but not AYCE, I will come back for sure.

Omg this place is amazing. Top star service, super healthy and delicious hotpot combo. Price is so good and taste is so good. I could eat here 7 days a week! Pumpkin soup base and the ribeye beef combo is my fav. You can't get this quality of food for 30 per person anywhere else. Simply amazing.

There are not enough people waiting for friends to sit down, and it's not very busy. I'm speechless.

It's my first time to eat in this restaurant and I really like it. Serving is great the waiter who serve us is really good and fast she's working alone during big hours.

Came in for lunch on my birthday with my mom. We wanted a table since we have back problems and don't do well with bar seating, but they refused to give us one, saying it was reserved for parties of 3 or more. This was early on a Monday and the restaurant was almost completely empty, but they still refused to accommodate us. We left without eating. If you prefer low top seating go to the burnaby location instead.

Food was good! Wait time is definitely on the longer end of the spectrum but the food and service was good enough to combat the long wait!

Menu items range from $24 to 33 per person, portion is decent for the price and freshness. I like they have free soup base, otherwise another $4 to $8 on top. Customer cooks his/her own portion, no time limit to eat. Services are excellent. The Richmond store has a circular old style layout sitting on stool in a bit tight space. If prefer table, go to their Burnaby store.

It was my first time here and I had a really fun time with my friends. I was so impressed with the idea of having your own personal hot pot. It's a combo type of meal, you order your preference of meat (7oz or 10oz) and it comes with a tray of assorted vegetables/sides. It also comes with your choice of rice, udon, or vermicelli, and then a drink which seems to be different on certain day. We had the wintermelon tea which was super refreshing and paired nicely with our meal. Lastly it came with ice cream! It's a fun experience for you and your friends/family. We sat at the bar which indicated that we were paying for our meals separately, there are only two tables that were meant for combined bills. The service was amazing, they took great care of us and explained the process of how it worked. The only complaint I have are the bar chairs, they're not very comfortable and was barely any back support. Otherwise great place! Would definitely come back again (:

It a little small and crowded at times but it's still pretty comfortable. The food is not bad and they have a meal (if u want healthy option cas they have more vege) it's cheaper than ordering each item individually. The flavour is not bad too. It's kinda expensive in general, 2 people we ordered 2 meals for approx 75 (with tips)

Delicious self hot pot.they have combos that allow you to choose your meats and includes tons of vegetables/balls and a drink.the servers were also very kind and made us feel welcome and always checked to make sure our soup was topped up

A little bit pricy but the portions are good and the combos are very filling. I got the mix ball & meat combo which includes a variety of veggies, your choice of rice/noodles, a drink, and a dessert. There are options to upgrade your combo, such as choosing a soup base other than the 2 complimentary ones or upgrading your rice. The base price of the combos are already pretty high so picking the upgrades can add up really quickly. The taste is pretty good and I like that you get your own individual pot. There are limited seats so come early or be prepared to wait.

Server's are super friendly. Sauce is great. Soup base soy milk with cheese or just regular chicken base both good.

Went to Richmond location after Burnaby re-open their new store.
Not really surprised, but Richmond store also increase the price for the new menu.
I still love the food, but just wonder why everything is so expensive now.
Shabu shabu used to be a substitute for me when I want hotpot, but do not have too much budget. But nowadays price is pretty close to those big brands.
Beside price, the food is still amazing. Good quality meat and soup base. They include an ice cream for the combo, but I actually like the jelly more.
The Richmond store has better induction than Burnaby one, and the table is slightly bigger than Burnaby.

Dining on Valentine's Day, the front desk was short-staffed. The place was busy, but the front desk was still kind and friendly, which is encouraging!
