Good neighborhood Cantonese restaurant. Foods are average with reasonable prices. Maybe busy at lunch time dimsum but not dinner. Parking spaces are limited. Service is very good and it's clean.

Had the worst experience at lunch today! The stuff absolutely insisted we give a tip. That’s not how tipping works! You don’t demand gratuity from your customers. We are in an inflation! Shameful! Never coming back!

Not sure about dimsum but was invited to this twice for regular menu foods (maybe because it's cheap?). Personally, I would never go here if craving for Chinese food. The food is just tasteless. We had seafood stir fried rice and the shrimps were so bland. The spring rolls soaked up too much oil and were thinner than my 2 fingers. Braised pork with ginger was too oily.

Beware of Dim Sum scammers, my friend who bright me here said the place is so much downgraded after COVID. The ladies who push cart and offer pea tip veggies didn’t know the price, and pointing cheaper category, while you will be charged more at cashier, and the manager will blame that their English is not good and we miss-understood because they wear mask! The dumplings are not fresh anymore and the kitchen is overwhelmed as the order took so long to go out. No wonder the place is so quite now.better go somewhere else!

Dim sum was better than most but alot of room for improvement! Update! Went for dinner tonight and was very disappointed. It was very plain Jane Chinese food and considering the high prices of the dishes the value was very poor. Had a wonton soup that was very decent and ordered another one for take out and it was half the size and the same price! Their prices are the same as their competition down the street but the food was no where as good! Come on golden swan step up your game. There is a lot of Chinese restaurants in Vancouver.

Not happy with my experience at this restaurant. Dimsum is not bad, to be honest. But we ordered $75 of food and they still charged money for the tea pot that was on the table when we were seated. Seriously?

Food and service USED to be good. Don't know if its a change of management, staff turnover, or whatever, but it's been on a steady decline as of late. Prices going up, portions, quality, and service going down. I ordered a dinner for 8 the night before, and when I went to pick up the next day (at the designated time), I still had to wait another hour. The most frustrating thing was, I wasn't greeted or even acknowledged with a nod upon my arrival, several people walked in and got their orders as I sat there waiting. When I finally got home, I find they missed a main dish that was ordered and paid for, and they didn't include the complimentary dessert that was promised to compensate for my wait.
Dim sum hours are usually better, since they're one of the few places remaining that bring the food out on carts, so you could eat as soon as you're seated. Regardless, at this point I highly doubt I'll be going back, which is a shame, after eating there for years.

One of my family’s go to places for no nonsense, consistently good dim sum. A good variety of classic dim sum eats and generous portions. Order off the menu or flag down a cart.

Golden swan was a staples before, then the quality went down. I’ve returned recently and pleased to see that their quality is back on point. It’s also adds to the dim sum experience to see the carts being pushed around. If you stopped visiting Golden swan because of the same reason, I would suggest to give them another chance now.

Washrooms could be cleaner.

Cheap. Super big portion. Good quality for the price. Very good service. I didn't feel tons of msg in my mouth after the meal. Big selling point is their dim sum cart. You can get your dim sum right away without waiting. Definitely will go again.

They are very not thankful for the tips they get. We gave them some tips, we were about to get up and leave, and they go and complain to us that the tip is not enough and we needed to give more, because they gave us a "discount" even if there is a discount it is NOT an excuse to ask for more tips.

Still horrible for parking but the food actually decent and the peking duck promk under 69$ for three ways geoduck was not over cooked as I am very picky
only complaint was the slab of mango sago dessert presentation and portion

One of my go to dim sum houses. Their servers are super friendly and that is one thing that makes me and my family feel welcome and makes us return. Their deep fried squid is one of the BEST in Vancouver. No tentacles! Seasoned nicely and always fresh and has a crispy bite.

The food is good. I mean it's dimsum. But they get a two because communication is so poor amongst the staff. We waited 1.5 hrs for one order, yes we had the patience to wait that long.

Terrific Cantonese style cuisine for lunch (dim sum) and dinner. Vaccine checks still in place.

Excellent price $58 for fresh live king cod (2 courses) tonight. Stir fried boneless tasty cod fillet with snow peas and celery plus either thick rich fish soup with tofu and bok choi or stewed fish belly in soy sauce. Cannot emphasize enough the freshness and tasty fish dishes.big portions too. Will definitely return for this and others while the price is still very reasonable around Vancouver.

Haven't had push cart dim sum in a very long time and was not disappointed! Wanted basic dim sum restaurant and that's what we got. None of this pretentious truffle dim sum business.

Food was great, exactly what I was looking for. It was my first time here so not much to compare to. Most of the items were large and XL or special which means on average it would cost $8 a dish. Just over $100 including tax and tip for 5 of us.

Loved their egg yolk buns as the dessert, so runny and good. The baked tapioca was so so. Loved the braised tendons, very flavorful as was the chicken feet. The glutinous rice in the lotus leaf wrap was smaller than expected but still tasty. Oh and the seafood salad egg roll was also memorable, in a good way ️

The hostess scans your vaccine card when you enter and checks ID. The place was pretty busy with the tables pretty close together and no dividers. We made a reservation and didn't have to wait when we arrived, which was great!

There was a little robot that went around with tea pots but not entirely sure of it's purpose as our tea pots were filled and taken away by the servers. Service was great as well, very quick and efficient with amazing memory of what we would verbally order.

It's gone downhill a little the past 4 years.
Glad they are still open, but the dim sum is not as good as before

Unexpectedly good. Pretty good dim sum items and varieties. They had wuhgok, which is one of my favorite pastries. Definitely liked the steamed tofu dessert.

Great food we will be returning for sure. The service was exceptional. Make sure to try this restaurant.

Recommend the egg tarts and dried scallop egg white fried rice.

Their Dimsum is HUGE! Service isnt that great. I got my own utensils, filled my own water, got my own to go containers and had to walk up my paper order because they never took my order. Everytime i asked it never came or it took forever. Service isnt that great maybe need more ppl. But the food is quite filling. KINDA RUDE to ask for TIP when i really did everything else they couldnt.

Went back out to dimsum post-Covid. Golden swan seems to be the best in terms of taste, price and variety. It can be busy and lacking service. Had to keep flagging down a server. But the sui mai and har gaw are both just the way i remember it to be. You can make a reso, but don't expect the get seated right away. It just gets you in quicker. There is 10% off going on right now.

Great food! That says it all!

I do take out for dim sum and dinner but but going in person is the best way to go! Portions are bigger for dinner if you dine in.

Prices is good for Vancouver.
Plate sizes good.
Place older decor but comfortable n clean.

Do not visit this place. One of the dishes did not come out but no apologies at all and kept replying back that they cannot cancle the dish. After 2 hours we receive it. Still NO APOLOGIES!
Worst restaurant service ever.

My favorite Dim Sum place. Food is consistently delicious. Also, they have push cart ladies walking around so you can see what to order.

Perfect for people that enjoy Chinese food, but don't know what the dish is called.

We only go to Golden swan for dim sum when we're in town. Everything is delicious. Service is ok because of language barrier. I would recommend this place for dim sum.

Loved the Peking duck and we even had a few dimsum items I'd never had before such as this amazing deep fried shrimp ball with silken tofu and this delicious chicken salad with cold noodles. Thank you for the amazing food experience!

Was going to order from here as we’ve heard great reviews. Then I noticed they sell shark fin soup! Which is beyond upsetting and we decided to never order from here. Shark fin is banned in Canada in 2019 and yet it’s still on their menu. It doesn’t have any taste just eaten for status. Golden swan you should educate yourself on how horrible/damaging it is to keep up with an outdated tradition. You never know it may help you for the future in more ways than one.

Keep your staff vehicles off our streets. We watch them every day park illegally on east 38th. There are clearly marked signs that only resident can park. You having a restaurant that fits over 100 people and a parking lot that fits 8 cars is NOT the community’s problem. We will soon be having all vehicles from golden swan removed immediately. Thanks he whole street is now aware and we will begin removing vehicles starting this Monday.

I love this place fast service, solid food.but I noticed for the first time being charged a tea fee of $2.50 for 2 today. Is that new? I understand price inflation and all bc covid. Just curious.

Great place. Dim sum was fantastic. All the classics. Chicken feet, har gow, shiu mai, amazing deep fried shrimp rolls, the deep fried squid was a C- but everything else was an A+.
