Granville Island Public Market

Nice quaint little area with a pretty nice market. In terms of scale, it's nothing like Seattle's Pike Market. BUT it's nicely organized, and still worth a look. On top of that though, it's not just a market to buy trinkets and things, the surrounding area actually has improv theaters to enjoy shows at and art galleries, that are worth checking out!

Always a great shopping and eating adventure. I always take friends and family here when they are visiting from out of town.

The meat and pot pies are great and you can't go wrong with some classic greasy fish and chips!

I haven't been here in a good 25 years but it's still the same as I remembered. Great market for all your needs, every type of food to cleanse your palate, unique shops, restaurants, art studios, & so much more

Finally got a stuffed dinosaur I was a kid when I was last here and finally got my dream fulfilled. And drained my bank account out on nice spices. One thing about van that never changes is this place.

One of the best public markets I have ever visited. Some amazing food options available here. Also a beautiful lookout point with views of the city skyline and the river.

Excellent market. Lots of variety and all very good quality. The fruit looks excellent. The fish very fresh. Very nice to explore, as well as several places to eat. Outside there are people singing and craft places.beautiful walk

Great market with plentiful food options and boutiques. Beautiful views of the marina and Vancouver skyline. Would recommend the nanaimo bars at the bakery and the ice cream shop too. Only complaint is that it closes at 6pm even on the weekends. Can get very busy on the weekends so expect a long queue if you’re taking one of the ferries. Overall would recommend checking out when in Vancouver!

I’d stay away from the fruit stands though. That’s a tourist trap. The most likely fruit comes from the stores (I saw them transferring fruit from Costco style boxes into the paper baskets they sell them in)

Still a favourite of mine. The view is worth going even if you don't want to shop or eat, but I suggest enjoying all 3!

I've been to this market since I was young and always had a great time. There is a lot of tourist stuff hence why it's quite expensive but there's a lot to choose from, food wise.

The market is pretty busy around noon and onwards so it's a good idea to arrive earlier to beat the crowds. Great place to take pictures!

What seems like a tourist trap houses a vibrant food court, outdoor shopping plaza, fresh produce, and also an apparently super popular donut shop. The stereotype of food courts is that the stalls are hit or miss: we ordered from four different places and were quite satisfied with every one. The only problem is getting there, where you have to pay a steep price for the ferry if you aren't on the right side of the river.

I had planned so much to do on the day we were going to Granville Island but a friend said that I can easily spend the whole day at the public market, so I cleared up our schedule and had Granville Island the only itinerary for the day. Was she ever right! Such a shopping haven! We lost ourselves browsing at all the shops with unique things to offer and the prices were great! Not at all tourist prices which I loved! My daughter didn’t want to leave but the shops were starting to close down, so we had no choice. That shows you how long we have been there. Definitely a must in Vancouver!

The scenery is amazing, lots of selections of different foods/drinks, lots of pubs/eateries, live music, and good shops.

And you can also take a ferry to various locations. Costs 6.50 for a round trip.

Simply an awesome day.

Place for epicureans. Quiet and pleasant. Crossing water by taxi boat give a nice view on the buildings

The Granville Island Public Market is well worth a visit when you’re in Vancouver. The shops, goods, businesses and services represented are varied and fascinating. These will appeal to both tourists and Vancouver residents alike.

This is a great place to hang out, enjoy a nice breeze and take a stroll through many different shops and restaurants.

You can buy fresh pasta, cured meats, local produce, and delicious olives. What more to ask for?

First time there, it was really quite awesome!
Great food places. I'm assuming the donuts are amazing but the line had about 50+ people in it and we had to get going.
We ate at the perogi place, had amazing sausage perogi and beer! Service was great. Nice to have the little patio so you can sit and eat.
Easy to get to by water taxi (and cheap) or you can drive there but the parking is a bit hectic.
Loved the variety of vendors!
Came back for dinner one night at the Sandbar which we highly recommend!

It's a feast for the eyes with all the fresh fruits, veggies, meats, fish, deli, and delicious baked goods. Plus lots of unique shops with handmade products
