Great Clips

On behalf of my mom who had a hair cut today with Julie. She wanted to leave a review that she always has a wonderful experience and great quality cut. Not just the first time, but every cut since, has been consistently fantastic! She has tried many salons in New Westminster, and Great Clips McBride has been the best!

Hanna understood perfect my idea. I love my haircut! Thanks Hannah. I will absolutely come back here soon.

The worst hair cut I’ve ever had. It was so uneven on the top that I had to ask the hairdresser to shorten the top using a trimmer. It gets worse…. When I went to pay the advertised price on the window of 13.99 they charged me full price for a haircut they messed up! Maybe I should have checked the reviews before I went. It looks like I’m not alone! Zero stars!

The worst haircut I’ve ever had. I went in with thinning hair falling out.wanted it layered, and shorter for volume. I was scalped! Stylist took a razor to the back of my hair, and took out all the volume! It’s uneven.it’s 2 inches shorter in the back than I asked.will take months, and months to grow out! I’m going to have to buy a wig.never again. I don’t understand how you can do this to people.with complete disregard

I had the worst hair cut of my entire life! She even gave it to me for free as it was that bad! She started to buzz my old head with a number one she went completely of the chart! I will never go back there again I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wants to have a nice haircut! Very sad to see incompetent people like that working with public. When I left she said they will grow back in a week you won’t see the difference

I have cancer and am losing my hair due to chemotherapy. I am so grateful to have recieved a complimentary haircut (buzzed it off) by the gentle and friendly staff.

I will definitely be a regular customer when my hair starts to grow back in.

Good staff. Always remember your style and get it right. Recommended. Price is about $24, (19 for kids), but worth it, and everyone needs a living wage

Ok I went in and asked for thin wispy bangs to my eyebrows and a small trim so it would reach my shoulders I left with a decent base haircut but my bangs (while not absolutely horrible) we’re not at all what I asked for I received thick chunky bangs just above my eyebrows. Not only that but both me and my father were surprised that it took them MAYBE 6 minutes to cut my hair I was rushed and felt like a burden she was giving the vibe of “I have better things to do” overall I was rushed and quite unsatisfied with my haircut as they could not have done something more different then what I asked for

Had a terrible experience today. Even after showing her my desired styling picture before the haircut, the lady (with red hair) totally messed my one side of head. She left the other side completely different. When I advised her in the end that she should patiently analyse a customer’s desired haircut first and then proceed, she rudely replied ‘credit or debit’. She wasn’t even sorry for her mistake/bad skills!
Totally disappointed by the treatment and her attitude.
Never trusting Great Clips again.

The ladies here are really nice and good at haircuts, one lady went above and beyond for my mom and I, even braided my hair after and showed me some good hair stuff to buy, we can’t thank you enough for the awesome hair cuts, and your amazing kind service:)

I've been going to great clips on McBride for at least a decade. Once you find a good hairdresser you don't let them go. I would recommend Josie.

Second haircut today, this time by Amrit, super professional, knew what I wanted before I did. Seemed like she belonged in aa expensive high end salon. Highly recommend. The manager, Rojina (I think) cut my hair this morning. She was excellent, very great at saying what she was doing showing me and then cutting. She was professional with the right amount of charm. I have spent a lot of money on really expensive haircuts and got my best one here.

For the last 4 years I tried to take my son to so many hair Salon and it was such a struggle for each haircut (scared, smell noise) except this great clips. He initiated haircut when it gets long and every time the experience and the look is so satisfactory. They always keep their haircut notes for past customer so I don't have to repeat myself. Great price! Online check in is also available (hence my LO never needs to wait). Highly recommended

The lady working was rude. I understand I arrive half hour before closing. But that is not a reason to be rude. From the time I enter, she just behaved like she did not want another customer. I came in taxi spending 20 bucks. What a waste!

It's a hit or miss depending which hair stylist you get. The lady I had was very nice but didn't really take time to look at the photo I wanted to use as reference and my hair came out shorter and not what I expected. Having a hard time to accept it and have been wearing it in a bun until it grows out.

I told her I wanted a trim and she cut it short. Too busy helping a staff member with the computer and I guess she forgot it wanted just a trim.

JULIE did exactly what I asked her to do, and though I am not a stylist, she understood exactly what I wanted

I decided to try this Great Clips location at Royal Square as it is close to where I live. Yesterday there was a bit of a commotion as it seems like one of the stylists was trapped in their washroom. Looks like it was quite a while too as I had to run next door to the Safeway to use their washroom (as the one at Great Clips was obviously out of order) and by the time I came back she was still trapped. What was even more unprofessional to me was the manager there was asking the customers to help open the door instead of calling 911 or even a locksmith? I’m glad it wasn’t me that was trapped inside as the staff/management clearly had no idea what they were doing. I would have panicked and called the Fire Department and had that door busted down! The staff all in all seemed pretty unconcerned about this clear safety issue and continued accepting more customers. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be coming back!

We go here here and love it as staff are always friendly and have never had a bad haircut. Price is great and I always leave a good tip.

Poor service. Just had a haircut. Barber rushed into the job, spent less than 10 minutes cutting. Zero attention to detail, barber lacking customer service. Never using this place again.

It's a decent haircut 6 out of 10 times. I have been pretty disappointed more than once. On other hand I have been real happy with the service as well. Most the time it's an average cut. The website allows self check in, which is real handy. The downside is the self check-in often says 0 guests in front of you, so if you check in at home then head over someone has usually taken your place.

Horrible service I asked to use the washroom I’m a customer and they said it was for staff only so I had to go looking for a bathroom just to urinate finally had to go out in the alley. I think it’s horrible that you don’t allow customers to use the bathroom will never go back to that again

Only giving one star because I can't give less. Took my daughter there for her first cut. My daughter was a total statue the entire time, such a trooper. And somehow the woman doing her hair managed to absolutely destroy it anyway. She first said she would not touch the sides as to leave it looking natural but she completely balded her around the ears. All I wanted was the mullet evened out and the tips brought from her nose to just above her eye and in 3 minutes she butchered my child's hair. I was in tears and ran out with my daughter. She still had the nerve to charge us $17 something. My husband paid and left.

Serves me right for going to a strip mall dive.

My friend zach comes here to get a haircut every few years, seems like he hasnt gone back in awhile though even though there is coupons

Horrible place, they had no knowledge of any haircut terminology, completely ruined my hair since my regular barber was out of town. Already overpriced in contrast to other barbers and they still only spend about 15 minutes on your hair, and 10 of those minutes are used talking about which shampoo and what to ask a normal barber next time I come. When it came to payment, I was forced to tip at least 15% even though I was planning on walking out as soon as I sat down after realizing that my barber at the time had no idea what she was talking about. Never coming back again, do yourself a favour and don't waste your time or your hard earned money at this place.

Got a haircut earlier and this was my horrible experience, I showed her the hair style that I want but it turned out into a nightmare. Not recommended for women haircut.

Horrible place. Couldn’t even take simple instructions. Next to that it was way too expensive. Definitely will not be returning and I will make sure no one else makes the mistake I made.

Listen here. If you go here it is 100% over. I literally have a bald patch on my head and worse hair then when I arrived. Best of luck if you go here. I recommend you don’t. P. S idk how I’m going to survive school tomorrow

The service was just so so, it was definitely decreased their quality of service compared with around two years ago.
I brought my son there for his hair cut this morning at around 11: 10am. One lady was helping for check in and let my son sit down, and then the other lady was going to help him for hair cut. She kept ask me ' Is number 2 ok? ' I said I don't know what's number 2? And tell her what I expect for my son's hair cut. But she just kept asked me if I satisfied with the last hair cut? I then answered I do not remembered! Haven't been here for almost two years or more!
Sounds like she is not professional and lack of experience and knowledge in her profession.
The outcome of the hair cut was just ok.
Then we was going to pay for it. The lady told me that their credit card machine was not working well this early morning. I asked them why they didn't put the note to let the customer know ahead of time? She said it was OK, the ATM machine is just outside their store ！！！ But the reason is that I have to pay the machine service charge if I know earlier I might have change my mind to not come in this store!
I will definitely not come back again and not recommend this store to any of my friends.

I've been seeing Amrit for years. This last time she butchered my bangs. When I left the salon my hair was wet and seemed fine but when it dried it looked awful. My boss asked if I'd cut it myself!
I went back to show her how uneven my bangs were and she was having none of it. Literally argued with me, claimed she gave me the best haircut. I spoke with the manager, who was sympathetic and said Amrit must have had a bad day, she gave me a full refund. I went to pick up the money and once again, Amrit started telling me she didn't wreck my hair, that I was being disrespectful and she'd "like to know who said my bangs looked bad because they don't know" Apparently there are plenty of people out there, like me, who don't know we have square shaped patches of extremely short hair on our foreheads.
More angry about the incredibly rude and belligerent response than the horrible haircut. My hair will grow, it's not the 1st awful haircut I've had, and I'll forget about it but I'll never forget how unprofessional Amrit was in blaming me for her screw up!

Very happy with my sons first try at going to a hairdresser. Its something he has avoided for 7 years and his first experience was handled very well. And his hair looks great! Thank you!

Went in for my usual haircut. Told them I was taking chemo so not to worry if some of my hair came out. The manager & a hair dresser were close by, the manager immediately responded NO CHARGE. I was told they have a KINDNESS PROGRAM & I did not need to pay. As I did not know this I was in dismay. Anyone knowing what it feels like to go through cancer treatment would realize how special this is. Thank You so much for making my day. I am sorry misplaced the managers name & hairdressers also GREAT CLIPS Thanks
