Green Leaf Vietnamese Bistro

I was at this restaurant today for lunch. I couldn't eat the food, no taste. I used to go often but the quality is down. Chicken, rice and veggies were boiled and served. No spices and no taste. When I mentioned my concerns, the owner who is also the cook refused to take any feedback and made me pay full price without
even offering anything in return. I will never go back.

Absolutely delicious! Food was fresh, hot and tasty! Everything came out quickly, and was really enjoyed! We started with the coconut prawns, then had the Wonton Noodle Soup, Special Pho and Ginger Chicken.
We all enjoyed the Broth of the Wonton Noodle the most!
Washrooms were clean, prices reasonable!

Though prices are a bit steep for Vietnamese food, the quality is worth it. Our go-to place for pho on gloomy and rainy days.

Enjoyable place for an excellent Vietnamese dinner. The green tea is excellent and went well with our meals. Starting with the lightly fried tofu in ginger sauce, we had vermicelli lemongrass chicken & sugarcane shrimp dinners. Both were very good but know that sugarcane shrimp is a processed shrimp mix. All good and friendly service. I recommend a visit.

One of the best Asian restaurant around langford area.
I really enjoyed their dishes especially the chicken noodle soup. The staff is very polite, clean dining, reasonable prices.
It is the best feeling to have a hot soup watching the rain.

Langford location is larger than one downtown. I prefer location downtown as it is smaller and busier. Langford location, service is quick however they leave you to yourself once food is served. (Ie no checkins to see if you are doing okay or need anything further.) Had the beef brisket pho- broth not very flavorful. The slices of ham did not identify as ham. Meatballs are interesting. Liked that the slices of meat were raw and they cooked in the broth. Served with the typical sprouts, jalapeno peppers and basil. Tea was served with the meal. Serving was large and took the remainder in a container home with me.

Amazingly flavour-rich pho, gorgeous atmosphere, and attentive, kind, wonderful staff. Come here if you want a great dining experience! Bonus: the staff were intuitive. If you want to chill without being pressured at any step? Come here!

We arrived at 7: 40, and the restaurant’s “open sign” was still on. The server told us we can’t even sit down, or they won’t take our order. We go there very often, and we know their usual time for last call is 7: 45-7: 50. I am angry with the server that gave us a very bad attitude.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience with Vaughn. Salad rolls came within minutes and were delicious. Our pho broth was incredible. Vaughn brought such an amazing energy to our experience we both took note of it. I look forward to coming back!

I have tried many pho restaurants around Victoria and this was the best by far. I got the seafood pho. The serving size was great for the cost with lots of seafood. The broth is the best I have ever tasted.

Usually really good food here and we used to eat here often, but the last time was not good at all and we haven't been back since. There is no email contact info on the website (that I can see) and nobody replied to my Facebook message requesting a call from a manager. Its been a few weeks now and too late to phone them. Maybe this review will prompt contact. As an owner of a small business, I would appreciate it if my clients let me know if their experience was terrible. Sad how one terrible experience can erase the positive ones from memory.

Not the best. Their pho might be a diff story but disappointed in the salad rolls, banh mi and vermicelli dish. Will not be back, sorry.

Had nothing but good experiences here, until there was an issue. It wasn't handled satisfactorily at first, but the owner reached out to rectify the situation. Sadly, I was busy shortly after and for the rest of the week, so I never took them up on the replacement meals that were offered. However, their willingness to address the issue has made me reassess and change my review back to the five star this restaurant clearly deserves.

Best place in Langford for some comfort food. Hot soup, fresh salad, grilled chicken over rice noodle, you name it! Secret menu - get the spicy beef with pho noodle, surely rice impress! Papaya salad is awesome and the chicken vermicelli with shrimp or spring roll will satisfy. Portion is always so generous. Be prepared to get lost in good food

A solid solid go too! Please don’t change a thing! Portions are good. The pho is awesome! Not gonna lie I’m a solid twice a month at this place and would highly recommend to anyone looking pho a great bowl of soup!

This location of the Green Leaf is excellent. The food was delicious and very well prepared. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy.

The overall dining experience was exceptional and we will make the 20 minute drive from Victoria to come to this location again.

First time ordering from here. Worst service ever! Ordered 4 items - Missing 1 complete meal $18 Lemongrass vermicelli bowl. Ordered the rare beef pho- missing the bean sprouts limes and jalapeños, half the meal was missing.

Called the restaurant to tell them I was missing the items. The person did not know what to do. Didn’t know how to credit my card. Couldn’t deliver. Said owner would call, never heard back from anyone. Very poor service. Won’t recommend or order there again! So disappointed as this place was recommended.

Had lunch there today. I had driven past so many times and not noticed. Met my two brothers there only by a whim. This was the best meal I have had in any restaurant in a long time. Service was great. Food was abundant and tasty. Atmosphere was casual. They have their own parking. I highly recommend this restaurant. I would definitely recommend, and will definitely go back.

This is probably the only Vietnamese restaurant you can sit down in their patio and to enjoy a hot bowl of Pho during the pandemic dining room locked down.

Busy restaurant. Good food and reasonable prices. Location is great with lots of parking. This is my go to place while in Victoria. Try it out.

Just had takeout from this place. I've dined in many times, and the takeout was just as stellar! Great value for money, fresh ingredients, absolutely delicious!

Modest surrounding but great food! Thoroughly enjoyed again their take on Won Tong noodle soup - huge bowl filled with tasty broth, ramen noodle and tasty selection of seafood.

Sevice was lagging food was cold an had to listen to all there tablets going of while trying to have a peace ful meal with the wife.could be better

Must try on my list. Very friendly to the customers and the pocket too and tables are sanitized at every usage.

Just passing through town and absolutely delighted to find this place. Very fast service, food was excellent, and the restaurant was big enough that we felt there was plenty of room between tables.

I like the food, prices are good however the cook in the back screams and sings super loud which is annoying, not professional and uncomfortable. I don’t understand why he needs to yell and make such a scene.does he not know there are customers who want to sit & relax? I ordered lemon grass beef which did not taste anything like lemon grass! Very loud obnoxious place and waitress doesn’t even ask how my food tasted. Also they says there’s no desserts? Also the waiter gives me the receipt without asking me prior if there was anything else I wanted. I was going to get another glass of wine but if that’s how they treat people I won’t be back!

FINALLY! AI Pho place that does not skimp on the meat! I ordered the #25 Beef noodle soup with with sliced Rare Beef, Brisket, Meatballs, and I ordered extra rare beef as normally when I get Pho there is very little meat for a proper meal. Green Leaf however was a HUGE surprise with the amount of meat they added, plus the extra meat on the side was totally worth it and good amount extra too! We just moved over here and within walking distance of this place, which will be a staple of ours from now on!

AHHHHH THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD! Definitely one of my favourite places. The food is always delicious and you get large portions. We’ve never finished our meal and always get to take home leftovers to enjoy again.

The food is fresh and well made.

The service is good but if you want water you should ask for it right when you’re ordering cause they don’t visit your table often- which I like.

The bathroom is very clean and the restaurant is really cozy. The tables are spaced nicely apart so you don’t feel like your eating with strangers (sans Covid).

My favourite is the coconut crepe and fried tofu and number 44.

Was craving some Vietnamese food while traveling to Langford, and found this restaurant. Apparently this restaurant has a long history. Had beef pho, which was okay. Spring rolls was a bit strange with taro inside. I've never seen that done before.

In my opinion, this restaurant is great value for the money. It appears to be family-run, and the service varies depending on who's serving you, but the food is great, fresh, and hot. The bill is always less than I think it's going to be, given the amount of food I order when I go there with my daughter and grandchildren, and I always leave satisfied (and usually with a doggy bag, which is not for the doggy). As far as I know there is a Green Leaf Bistro downtown well, but the one that I go to is in Langford, on Goldstream Avenue. The only thing I can complain about, and this is pretty small, is that it has a lovely deck outside and a garden that someone once loved. If they were to clean the garden up, there would be more street appeal and I think it would be a pretty nice draw, especially in the nice weather when people want to sit outside. The building itself is very cool. It looks like it used to be a house. A few years back there was another restaurant in there, some kind of bistro that failed. The Green Leaf gang is doing well. They have managed to hang on in the midst of covid. They seem very careful with their masking, sterilizing and with seating people appropriate distances apart. They have a thriving takeout service. You know that a restaurant makes good food when covid-19 hadn't dragged them under!

Amazing and delicious! We ended up ordering way too much as the soup portions were huge.
Fast prep too. Only waited 10 min for our order and they even brought it out to the car.
Definitely will be back!

Great Vietnamese restaurant in Langford. We went to their other location dowtown as well and decided that we prefer this branch. Nice and bright dining room. Pho was consistently decent. My partner ordered lemongrass pork chop with shredded pork and fried egg on rice which was delicious. Portion is generous and service is quick. We went there twice in our recent 3 day trip to Victoria. Prices are a little higher than in Vancouver but that is expected. Gotta factor in all the freight and shipping to the island. Highly recommend!

I would give this restaurant a 20 out of 10 if I could! Hands down THE best Vietnamese restaurant that I have ever visited! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a cup of steaming hot tea - which was amazing because it was pretty chilly outside! Service was fantastic & very quick, and surrounded by a clean, spacious, and handicap accessible environment. I tried #78 with rice! HIGHLY recommend! We will be back soon! Did takeout on a vermicelli dish, portion was a lot smaller than it was a couple months ago. Part of the vermicelli was uncooked and smelled very bad. Had to throw up the food later, absolutely garbage. Time to go somewhere else for vietnamese food.

The service was great and the food was awesome. Large portions of really taste good. One thing I did not like was trying to eat the larger pieces of meat with chop sticks. They could have cut the pieces up.

Nice place and they are quick with the food. It seems like a hot spot for takeout services too. The pork vermicelli is awesome but the some of the pho has less flavor in contrast. I like a good portion, too, and they have variety.

I have yet to try other dishes. Definitely recommend and get the pork vermicelli for your first time.
