GT Hiring Solutions / WorkBC Centre - Victoria

So far I've been given a bunch of paperwork, an appointment a month from now, and a whole lot of recommendations to do seminars. I'm used to social services being basically non-existent in Victoria, but it still stings. Walking into a big fancy office and finding out it's basically smoke and mirrors run by a skeleton crew.

When will you be repeonening computers to the general public? It is disgraceful that in a time of mass unemployment that you are preventing people from accessing help they need to recover from covid and find stable employment and job opportunities.

I found this office terrible. Impatient, not friendly and unhelpful. Unwilling to help me. Terrible. Do not go here if you can help it. You are better off.

Have a friend who got sponsored for a nurse practitioner course. She was a honor student and had done souch work towards completion and due to covid and the issues that came with it has been suspended with 10 days left. To me this is a waste of time money and so hurtful and stressful for her. Something needs to be done to correct this and rectify the situation.

The computers here are 10x (prob.more) faster than the one at home. And if your looking for a job.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service. The secretary acts like she knows everything and tries to give answers to things she knows NOTHING about. You are not a work counsellor, you answer phones and take messages. Don't try to pretend you have any clue about what programs are still available. Sit down and do the job given to you, not trying to do everyone else's. Useless place

So far very unhelpful staff except for one lady who really stood out, rest officious rude. Trying to help our son get appointment with them was impossible. Will have to use another place.

I'm sure this place is great. Nonetheless, during the week of the snowstorm, it was the only place closed. Labour Unlimited was open. TLC was open and, the superb Randstad was open.not WorkBC.
There's a lot of people who depended on these places during that storm, I was one of them.
So, to Randstad, Labour Unlimited and TLC - a huge thank you. You pulled through for us. I could only hope that, we pulled through for you.

Standard BC people profiling by this staff. Came one day with a fuzzy beard and backpack too register and was dismayed at the negative facial ques from reception. Her vocal tone also betrayer her biased BC vibes. Next day clean shaven nice suit.reversed attitude. Another fail. Hire people with at least a spec of empathy.

Useless unless you've never had a job before.

They are more interested in getting you into workshops for their funding structure, than they are helping you FIND employers. With these guys, you're the cattle.

Don't ever tell them where you do get work, they will "call to confirm" leading to super awkward conversations explaining why you decided to use them, and a dramatic change of tone from your boss.

Rating 4 because I have had mixed experiences. Usually I am offered zero support and advice (friendly staff but no one usually makes an effort to assist). Yesterday, I was met by Julia who spent her time checking in with everyone there with respect and positivity. Also, liked her proactive and forward thinking suggestion to coworker about a pen recycling bin. Overheard this, don't think she recieved appropriate praise or feedback on this idea but she's got it going on for sure!
Same coworker was half rude and mansplained backspacing to me.yawn.
