H & M Auto Repair

Twice I have taken my Honda CRV to H & M Auto and both times I have been impressed by their excellent service.

When given a choice, I prefer to support reputable, family-owned businesses. After experiencing the professionalism and kindness demonstrated by Myke and the staff at H & M Auto, I will definitely be trusting them with the ongoing maintenance of my vehicle.

2 weeks before Christmas I had problems with my car's brakes. The brakes had been fully replaced by a different business 11 months prior and *should have been covered by warranty. It had been within the year and was under the 20K wear limit. The original business refused warranty coverage and gave me a quote to repair. I instead took my car to H&M Auto Repair, who on inspection, confirmed that the work should indeed be covered by warranty. I was encouraged to follow up with the original business's manager, although H&M would get the job done and they may be able to get the parts covered by warranty, he was honest and felt that I shouldn't be charged for the service. I did go back to the original business and after a chat with the manager, they ended up being good with the warranty BUT.the real hero is H&M Auto Repair. The professionalism and honesty dealing with them was refreshing and most appreciated. H&M Auto Repair could have just booked me and made the sale but had the integrity to advise me to get the situation handled properly. I had work on my starter done by H&M Auto in the past and can guarantee I won't be bringing any of my vehicles anywhere else in the future!

I waited 5 days to get into another Mechanic else where and when I decided to take it here on the recommendation of the Great Canadian Oil change! H& M Auto repair checked it out that day told me what was needed ordered the part for my RV I needed to wait a few days but I was ok with that I was relieved that I got it in to be looked at I had this shimmy when I push on gas and Myke the manager has exceptional customer service and extremely impressed with the quality and the price was reasonable and they never charged me either for checking what was wrong with it in first place! Very reasonable, truly high integrity, says a lot about Myke and his team!

Simple safety check could have been put in the “later” bin but H&M did it in 30 minutes

It was our first time using them to service our car, no upselling! That was a nice change from some of our previous service providers.

I was visiting the island from the mainland and on my last day I was making my way to Nanaimo from Victoria when my car started smoking. It was a hot day and I thought my car was going to explode! I pulled into H&M auto repair and they worked very hard to get my car back on the road for me so that I could make my ferry reservation home that evening. They let my dogs sit in the waiting room with me to cool down as well. I was so impressed with how hard they worked to get me back on the road. They were polite and professional and explained the problem to me (my car was steaming, not smoking!) I made my ferry reservation! I also showed my dad the invoice when I got home and my dad was impressed, he says they were very reasonable with what they charged me for parts and labour. Thank you so much H&M auto repair for saving the day for me!

While on a trip the exhaust system of my 14 year old Nissan Versa that I bought new let go. I took it to H and M Auto to check out, fully expecting to have to install a complete new exhaust system, I was amazed when Mike recommended welding would fix it, which it did. During the fix the mechanic discovered one of the rear springs was broken. They ordered a pair in and installed them at a very reasonable cost.

I recommend H and M Auto For their honesty and professionalism, and will be using them from now on for all servicing and mechanical work on my Vehicles.

Got stranded travelling through Duncan with - what turned out to be - a failed fuel injection pump. Had my truck towed into H&M… the guys were able to diagnose the problem the same day and order the pump. Got the parts in next day and got ‘r fixed!
Excellent service, full explanation of work required and I am impressed by the cleanliness of the shop. I’d definitely recommend H&M.
