Hachi Hana Japanese Restaurant

There is Tataki roll (17$) on the top and salmon avocado roll (7.5$) on the bottom. Why it's the same size with difference of 10$? When i was eating in the restaurant last time they were really huge on the plate and tataki pieces on top of roll were bigger. The taste is heaven, but the portion really got me disappointed.

Been here a couple times. Friendly staff serving fresh tasting food. I really enjoy their Tuna Tataki, Salmon Carpaccio, and Bluefin Sashimi. Their rolls are excellent as well!

Don't order the ramen noodles to go. They don't separate the noodles from the soup so the noodles are so soggy. Taste is otherwise adequate, but because of the soggy noodles it was a waste of money. Kids won't eat it. Now I have to make dinner on a night of not wanting to make dinner.

It was the best sushi I ever had.
I really enjoyed it.
I will be back again.

Fresh food, great service. Love the atmosphere. We ordered quite a big meal there: salad, nigiri sushi, sashimi, salmon oshi sushi, tempura, and more (not everything was pictured). Portion is decent and they all taste good. Servers frequently see if you need to refill tea, which is a good thing as we love drinking tea. Thank you for the service!

Had high hopes for the “Japanese restaurant “. But very disappointed: the fish in the chirashi dish were blend, same thing goes for the miso soup, not to mention the plastic containers. ”

The sashimi pieces are thick and heavy, absolutely worth the money. The staff is polite and very nice and everything is so delicate, be sure to come early or reserve because this spot is busy and lives up to it's rating! Amazing!

Good quality salmon in my sushi, taste was good and fresh too. However portions are a bit small for the price.

Extensive menu, with service being prompt and friendly. A friend had the Yam Salad Roll with no complaints - it came heaping with shredded yam on top and was more than ample for lunch! The Spinach and Chopped Scallop Rolls were tasty. The restaurant is a good neighborhood eatery for Japanese fare and has a makeshift patio, perfect for the summer!

One of the best if not simply the best sushi and sashimi place in North Van. Price is also reasonble. The place is small but the Japanese server is super friendly and the chefs are Koreans. Still highly recommended.

Wonderful Japanese food from a truly lovely team. We ordered a variety of sushi rolls, noodles, agadashi tofu and miso. It was all delicious, fresh and the sushi was beautifully presented. As others have mentioned, the staff are kind and courteous (especially the Japanese lady who is just so nice). Great portion sizes and I savoured the leftovers the next day. Would return here in a heart beat and one of the best Japanese meals we've had in a long time. Arigato gozaimas to the Hachi Hana team.

Almost five star. Had the lunch bentos. Portions were good, all fish cuts were great and generous. Very good quality. Good tempura. However. The rolls were not great. More like grocery store quality and didn't eat more than a few of them. However. That may be a one off and the rest of it made up for it. Still, this should be 4.5 stars. I'll give them another shot though.

I ve been coming to this sushi place for the past 5 years and with no doubt it’s the best in North Vancouver.

Wow yummy food and friendly staff. Inside is cozy and cute, the outside doesnt look inviting but dont judge a book by its cover. I will be back for more.

A decent Japanese restaurant owned by Korean chefs. They were timely in reserving seats for us.

However, the following were a bit disappointing:

1. After we were seated, we were promptly moved to another seating. We had to transfer over all relevant cutlerys and plates to our new location

2. The quality of Sashimi werent as fresh as other comparable sushi restaurants. Ton ton sushi by Cambie is quite better.

3. We had specifically ordered a negitoto Maki ($7/6 pc), but were initially charged with $21 (6 x negitoto sushi). The staff took 30+ min to rectify the situation.

We may visit the restaurant in the future, as they seem to be picking things back up with new trainees.

Very good sushi and seafood udon. But the blue fin tuna sashimi that I got was the best! Excellent service!

It's more expensive than nearby sushi places, especially the sashimi is costly! But it still tastes good so it's hard to be disappointed.

Beautiful sushi! I just moved back to Vancouver with my boyfriend who had never had proper sushi before and took him here for his first try. He was overwhelmed by how amazing everything was! Delicious and such friendly service. Many thanks!

I can't speak highly enough of the flavor blends the chefs have created. It's like a ballet of varied notes across one's palate. Watch out for the Wasabi on the Sockeye salmon, though. It's particularly intense. (with a very lovely result, in my opinion)

Found a random sushi place based on reviews. Beware it doesn't aways reflect reality. Got this poorly assembled, oversalty rools for more than I'd pay anywhere else. Really, really salty with rice kinda hard/dry. Plus it supposed to be 2X 8pcs, got 2X 6 pics. Never again!

The plating was immaculate, and the food wa so delicious! The miso soup was the best I've had anywhere, and the Chicken Teriyaki bowl was super tasty!

Our favourite Japanese Restaurant in the North Shore. Food is always excellent. Their Futomaki and Tuna Tataki Roll are must try. Since the pandemic, we've been ordering take out weekly and the food is always fresh and delicious.

Best Sushi in Lonsdale, maybe even all of North Van.
Friendly and upbeat staff and well kept premises. 10/10 choice!

This is my mum's favourite sushi restaurant! It is delicious and they were really good with knowing the ingredients and telling me what was gluten free or not. 10/10

Tonight I had a very bad experience,
Servers behave customers differently,
It is not fair and shameful
I had a call that my food is ready for pickup
But when I reached to get it, a new servant kept telling me to stay outside at side walk and she will bring the food for me, at the same time she served several other customers,
I surprised, and shocked
Very bad customer service and got increased their cost as well

Awesome food! Awesome service! Food came out within 5 mins and was gone in less than 10! Absolutely delicious! Picture below is of the dragon roll. It was amazing! Highly recommend.

This 1 star rating is for the ramen only. I love their sushi! Tonight I tried their ramen and it was the worst! I would not even classify it as ramen. It was so bland, all I could taste was the bean sprouts, cabbage and red peppers in it (say what? !? ! - yeah, enough said). It tasted more like chow mein floating in a store bought, tetra-pack broth. I added some soy sauce to try to give it some flavour and then it tasted even more like Chinese food. If you're not going to do ramen right in Vancouver, you should just steer clear of offering it at all. This place is already known for exceptional sushi, so I recommend they stick with what they do well and not dilute their ratings by trying to pass off this bowl of noodles as ramen.

The best sushi you'll try on the North Shore. The ingredients are fresh and the quality of the fish always live up to the high standards that Vancouver sushi is known for. The staff is very accommodating and friendly - service is never a problem here. All in all, 5 stars and highly recommended for newcomers and sushi-lovers alike.

This is the best Japanese restaurant in BC. They only use the freshest fish and ingredients and you can taste it. The staff and atmosphere is great. A must have if you visit Vancouver.

Hachi Hana is blessed! I go there regularly with my family, almost traditionally. We all love it so much. Their sushi is top quality. Highly recommend!

Don’t mean to leave a soliloquy, but the service and food at Hachi Hana was absolutely outstanding! From the moment I stepped into the establishment to the last bite of the bento box; the amazing staff, fresh ingredients and excellent food truly cement this restaurant as THE spot for food in Vancouver.

Hachi Hana is by far the best sushi spot in the province. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 12 years and can confidently say that Hachi Hana serves the most delicious seafood in the North Shore. Anyone traveling to Vancouver is missing out if they don’t hit this spot. Enough said.

I tried a chicken ramen and I was disappointed. That's not how ramen suppose to look like. Service was very friendly tho.

Friendly local Japanese restaurant. Came here for lunch and had their bento box. Decent price for the area and good portion of food. I like how their cooked food is not overly salted or greasy.

Waitress were friendly and professional. A good option to try out if you're in the Lonsdale area.

Staff were nice and capable of dealing with the lunch rush. Sushi rolls and nigiri were overly pressed, it’s solid and dense. Fish was fresh and the general presentation was nice. Fried items like tempura and tofu was ok, certainly could use a lighter batter. This is a Japanese restaurant operated by Koreans.

OK - here's some advice. Don't ever ask a customer getting takeout "Do you need your change? ". Especially not when it is nearly $10 - in fact, ever! I don't know of anyone who tips for takeout - perhaps I'm wrong. Regardless, it is very uncool to ask and put the customer in an uncomfortable position of having to say "yes" and making them feel stingy. I always tip generously when I dine in, because I have received service. What service have you provided me whan I pick up takeout? Handing me a bag? Just don't do it.
Food was very average. Would have given 3 stars based on the food alone. Sushi Station is much better and cheaper and have never fished for a tip for takeout.

Very nice atmosphere and good food. The service was very friendly- the staff greet you when you arrive and thank you when you leave. Good menu options and reasonably priced. I would recommend checking them out if you are in the area and looking for sushi.

I come back here often when craving sushi. They are so friendly and welcoming! Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The space is clean, bright, comfortable and modern. Even the washroom!

Eel is very tasty. Salmon don and rolls are good as well. A bit small amount of fish in salmon rolls. Friendly service. Roe was too salty. Will return here again.

Very friendly staff, and food came at a reasonable time. Sushi tasted fresh and delicious. Would consider coming here every time I come to North Vancouver.
