Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery Ltd.

Abby is overworked and taken advantage of. I recently had a tasting and the poor guy mentioned how they have no staff and that it all falls on him. Staff turnover seems incredibly high which is usually an issue with management. A beautiful winery being destroyed by profit hungry owners it seems, sad.

I only put the two stars because Abby was amazing and deserves his recognition.

Update - I changed my rating based because Hainle responded to my review. Unfortunately we were there with family and excited to take them there so a note posted on the door saying it was not open until later as staff was making a pick up should have been there.
Unfortunately the hours posted on their website and on the sign outside the door says open at 10 on Saturday but this is not true. The phone says open 11-5 everyday for the summer season. The website and door sign need to match. No one was around or answering the phone when we were there on Saturday July 22 at 10 am.

The Merlot was excellent, I bought 2 rather expensive bottles. We tasted 6 wines and our guide Austin had a lot to say and was very friendly but I found the white wines peculiar, one of which apparently was blended from 23 varietals. At any rate I didn't care for anything but the Merlot.

Had a lovely wine tasting on the patio. Generous samples! Most of the wines we're very good, we purchased several bottles. It's nice that the tasting fee is waved with purchase!

On our tour of the Okanagan we stopped at Hainle vineyard. Expecting some BC excellence bought a variety case of Hainle featured wines. We thought this would be an excellent way to taste a variety of Canadian Okanagan wines. We paid almost $300 plus $35 each for 3 additional bottles of ice wine. The majority of the wine was undrinkable including the ice wine. For over $300 we only got to appreciate 3 bottles of wine. The rest had to be poured out. I have always endeavored to support local, especially Canadian companies. Form this experience I will never buy Canadian wine again.

Stumbled on this gem on my 4 day break after tax season. Austin was amazing at making this stop a memorable one. He is anxious to share the winery's crafted wines and is always there to answer any questions. Truly enjoyed my visit. Thanks Austin!

Such a relaxing afternoon with Lloyd on the guitar. The Cabernet Merlot and the 2020 Happiness wine were amazing. We will be back for a tasting for the new wines. Make sure to make this a must visit.

Outstanding tasting experience lead by Abby! Gave us a great history of the winery and honest and accurate information on the wines shared. Many delicious but unique flavours, definitely making this somewhere we would be repeat visitors to.

Excellent service. Took home a bottle of cab franc. Abby was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and so polite. I learned so much about wine in our hour together. Had a great experience. Though the views may not be the best in the area, the customer service definitely makes it worth it. I’d love to return!

Amazing experience with Bella and Martha. We were moved into the VIP room and given a tour of the cellar at no extra charge. This was hands down the best experience we have had at a winery in the Okanagan. Bravo to Bella, Martha, and the wine makers of Hainle. We all love you!

A taste of the Okanagan.
We were staying at our Airbnb and decided to go for a bit of a hike to check out the local wineries. We stubbled upon Hainle Vineyards and we loved it. Our host Abby was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made our experience a event to remember. Some treasure are best discovered accidentally. Thanks for a wonderful tasting.

We bought a case of wine this past summer expecting the same quality of product we had experienced 10 years ago. We’ve since had 2 bottles of ice wine blow their corks and dry up and a bottle of white turn to vinegar. I’m now concerned about the remaining bottles of wine we purchased. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning customers as a result of this and I hope the new owners take a serious look into their quality control measures.

Nice staff, bad wine. There was a deal, a case for $99. Bottle after bottle, most had gone bad, discoloured, weird taste. Riesling was very sugary, passable as a sangria.

Such a WONDERFUL winery to visit and shop! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable to share stories of the winery and the wines. Wines are high-quality with a lot of varietals and vintages to choose. The 2006 Zweigelt is my favourite. Can't believe it is only $129.99 per case! This is definitely my top winery in Okanagan. Will visit more often <3

We've bought online a few cases of wine recently and decided that we don't need the whole amount that we've bought. Winery responded promptly to our request, sent somebody to pick the rest of the wine and refunded us fully for the cases we don't need. That is a perfect example of an excellent service what is very important in our days!

Buyer beware! Ordered a few cases and the few bottles I opened were like vinegar and brown in colour. I was then shocked to hear similar tales from others in my wine club who also purchased from Hainle. I was one of the 'lucky' ones and given a refund, but it was not easy. I will never buy from Hainle again.

Romel have us such an insightful wine tasting experience. Wines were all excellent, especially, ice wines. Will visit again. Highly recommended if you are looking for some good wines!

Fabulous to get the chance to visit this lovely Peachland organic winery. The wines are spectacular. You'll pleasantly surprise any wine lover with a bottle from this winery. A must visit.

Great spot! We were here over a month ago, the wines were super good and we had an amazing experience thanks to Romel's energy and vibe! Was so great to meet you Romel! You are awesome! Hope to come visit again!

Shocked to see how casual the ONE staff member was at this place. Walked in and found him making direct contact with customers, not wearing a mask and I felt very unsafe. Saw on their website that my experience wasn't the only time this blatant disrespect for the current rules happened. Is this how we social distance? Be careful out there folks! Definitely not worth risking exposure to an infectious virus when all the wines are old and turned to vinegar or oxidized!

Nice winery. Inside is spacious and inviting. The host was very gracious and energetic. Have a tasting. The wines are all fantastic.

Incredible staff with amazing stories. We showed up early and the staff spent so much time with us telling us stories and explaining the history of the company which is very fascinating. They also taught us about some of the growing process and we left feeling like we had learned a lot. Do not skip this one.

We came across the Hainle Winery through Harvest Host and had a great wine tasting from a very knowledgeable and personable expert (sorry I didn’t catch her name). We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend the day and evening at Hainle. Thank you again!

If you love to drink sugary sweet wines then this is not the winery for you.
If you love dry wines with no chemicals or additives then you have found your wine heaven at this winery.
Their wines are defintely made more to enjoy with food. They might want to offer some food pairings. I love the staff. Always friendly.
So stay away from here if you are addicted to sugar water with lots of chemicals.ha

I loved this Wine Shop! The staff including the dog were so friendly. The view is spectacular and the environment is so welcoming. The taste testing experience was relaxed and educational. I never realized they were the first to create an Ice Wine in North America. I chose an Ice Wine as an investment wine and the Red Grand Reserve to serve with a meal. The Grand Reserve was delicious! It balanced really well with the meal and since it is a certified organic wine I did not have a slight headache that I usually have with a red wine.

We went there based on the comments below and we were really disappointed. Wines were awful (we were 4 and all of us had the same experience). Fortunately, the staff was quite nice to us.

The lady at the front counter is really great. You can taste originality in the wines. I've read some of the reviews with 1 Star - perhaps it may be something the wine maker should take into consideration? I don't know and I'm not a wine professional - I left with 4 bottles, my wife and I were quite satisfied about the knowledge and history. It was worth the trip to visit.

A unique winery experience in the Okanagan. Amazing people and incredible quality wines. Must stop of okanagan wine touring!
