Unwelcoming and pricey. I went here twice, the haircuts were fine, but the service was terrible and completely overpriced. I get my hair done a block away for more than $20 less than their cheapest cut.

I had an exceptional experience at this hair salon. I walked in at a slower time on a Saturday. Dylan greeted me at the counter and took me as a walk-in, and was a true professional. I showed him some pictures of my last haircut and he took it from there. He also did a great job of making the small talk enjoyable as we chatted about our shared interests. The salon had a comfortable and relaxed vibe. I left with a great haircut, and also enjoyed chatting with the stylist. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a top-notch haircut in a friendly, professional environment!
Also: they charge hourly which is great for someone like me who benefits from frequent touch-ups and don't always want to pay for a full haircut just to tidy up the sides.

Cut did not look anything like the reference photos, will now be wearing a hat to hide it.

I don't like getting my haircut and have walked out of salons crying more times than I can count, until I booked in with Shawn who did a beautiful job on my long hair! He did no more and no less than I asked, and even took the time to perform a maintenance technique that tackled all my split ends. I prefer fast cuts so we skip the wash and the styling and the products - he never drags out the experience longer than necessary. Thank you Shawn! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, talented, yet low-key stylist.

Been going exclusively to Hairsoda for a few years now, and Shawn always delivers the perfect cut and highlights exactly how I've requested. He takes extra care in both the colouring and cut process and is the only person I will trust in Vancouver to deal with my curly hair.

I got my hair cut by Theo, who is absolutely fantastic. I have a weird alternative undercut and Theo put in the time and effort to make sure it looked awesome, some real attention to detail I highly appreciated.

Sean and Ruth are neighborhood gems! They are professional, offer a friendly and COVID safe environment. Sean does a wonderful job cutting and coloring my short hair.

I went to Hairsoda for the first time this past July and had a fantastic partial highlight (blond) and haircut experience with Ruth! She was so gentle with my hair, the colour turned out fantastic, and I really liked the cut. I visited again for a second time a few weeks ago, and had another terrific experience. Thank you Ruth - I'm so happy to have found a Northshore salon that I truly enjoy!

As always my colour and cut were perfect! The staff are great and Ruth's colour expertise is fantastic. The salon is clean, they follow strict covid19 guidelines to make your visit as stress free as possible.

Shawn is a great hairstylist. He is personable and shows real interest in giving me a haircut that looks good and fits my needs. He also goes out of his way to make sure I know how to maintain it in between appointments.

I’ve had my hair cut and styled elsewhere but I will only go to see Shawn at Hairsoda from now on.
Not only is he skilled and passionate about his work, he does not rush through any of the services.
Many other shops skip services to make up for the decrease in customers due to the pandemic but Hairsoda continues to be a full service hair salon while keeping the place clean and customers safe.

Hairsoda is a smaller and more personal salon.which I like. Fun decor. Super clean. Feels somewhat more spa like.quiet and calm.

The stylist for my hair is professional and fun to talk with. She always enquires whether I enjoyed my previous hairstyle.would I change anything this time? She listens to my ideas and wishes, and often checks that I like the cut as she is styling it. I like the cut more since I feel a part of the process and always feel that I received the cut I had in mind.

Finding a new salon can be extremely stressful, but when I found Ruth @ Hair Soda last year, my prayers had been answered. She is always able to achieve exactly what I request when it comes to colour and my hair cuts have been great. Covid protocols are followed, salon is very clean, best of all, my appointments are always on time.

Every time I need a haircut Im so excited to go and see Shawn at hairsoda. He cleans up my hair better than anyone else i've gone to. Cleanest cuts in Vancouver. You go once, and you never look for another barber.

I have been with Ruth for years and followed her to Hair Soda when she opened it up. She is great with my fine, curly hair and I am always happy when I leave. They have done a great job with all the Covid-19 restrictions and I feel it is a very safe place for Salon services.

Arrived for my appointment at opening, only to be greeted 40 minutes later and told the stylist "slept in", not only was my time wasted but nothing was done to resolve it.

The price for value is too great. Great place if you feel like paying more for the same haircut you can get at more affordable barbers.

Attention to detail is uncanny. Very personable and welcoming. If you're picky with your hair, look no further. Their #1 priority is making sure their clients are happy with their haircut/style and have you looking fly, hot, and fresh. Highly, highly recommend - from my first steps in I have gone nowhere else.

I tried this place out as I was new to the area. First haircut went pretty well so thought it would be the same for me second cut. After booking an appointment and confirming before hand, when I got there I was told someone else had my appointment time and they were going to cut her hair instead as she was a regular. Wasn’t happy and won’t be back.

I came in to get my blonde highlights touched up with some purple accents. I had Janelle (who I understand no longer works there) but it took 5 hours. I'm already blonde, the touch up was minimal, and I understand with the purple it has to be done in two stages but it was literally 5 hours (apt started at 10am and left after 3 pm) and in between colouring she came back to me with different colour nails. I was only washing my hair twice a week with paraben free shampoo, in cold water, as I was told to and the purple was out pretty much after the first wash. And it cost me $200.
I am new to this area and didn't know what to expect so I pondered what would be a fair review but I'm quite upset with the experience.

Leanne did an amazing job with my hair! I am not a very artsy person, I don't have a good sense of color, decoration, etc. I like arcteryx clothing, and I am in a profession that wears pajamas to work. With just the idea of trying to enhance my already natural color (and me not bringing ANY helpful pictures) ; Leanne did absolutely gorgeous highlights for me. Thanks again for using your skill and experience to give a spectacular look! Definitely returning.

I dread getting my hair cut because I have curly hair. I saw the good reviews and went to hair soda about a month ago. I liked the salon, clean and good vibes. I had my haircut with Ruth because online it said she was good with curly hair. I went to a pixie cut and when I washed it the next day I knew it wasn't right. But I left for a trip a few days after and I couldn't do much to fix it. The entire trip I've been fighting my hair to keep me from having a mohawk (not a cool one). Ruth was super nice but I'm not happy with my hair at all.
