Hakone Sushi

Only one in the store and they got my order wrong. Spicy donburi was bad. Thankfully they didn't mix the spicy sauce into the dish, as I would not have ate it. The spicy sauce was on the side and tasted like a watered down ramen spicy packet. Negitoro roll was decent. Ebi sunomono was poor. Vinegar flavour was not there and the shrimp was rubbery.

I did not score the atmosphere as I had my dinner delivered by Skip the dishes. The food was delicious and the presentation very good even for delivery. Another time I will need to sit in the restaurant and enjoy the experience. The salmon. As tender and tasty, the shrimp tempura nice and light and crunchy. The spicy tuna roll had just enough heat. And the salad was fresh and crunchy.

We ordered from Uber eats, and my family and I were completely disappointed in our order.

I ordered chicken teriyaki bowl, and the portion of chicken was ridiculous. There was a few pieces of chicken I doubt it was even a full piece of a chicken thigh.

They missed one of our orders.

The sushi kept falling apart.

Salmon did not taste fresh at all.

Solid customer service. I had some issues with uber and accidentally paid twice, they contacted me a few days later and resolved it.

Fish is fresh, and I highly recommend it. I suppose the only downside is that their menu for sushi is smaller than their dons and udons. Portions are also above average, and affordable.

The sushi is very tasty and the presentation is really good. Really good value for money. Most of all, the service is amazing!

I will be coming back to this place again.

Placed an order via phone and discussed having no spicy sauce on the rolls or putting it on the side. Upon pickup the staff repeated to me that the rolls weren’t spicy. Upon arriving home 4/6 rolls were completely covered in spicy sauce.

The food is cheap which is good but the quality matches the price. I got a yam roll and an avocado cucumber roll but the rolls were small, falling apart and the nori was hard to chew through. The taste was good but I guess for a total of $8.70 I can’t really complain. This photo I had eaten half of it

This is my FAV Japanese restaurant in the lower mainland! The staff is so friendly and everything I’ve ordered has been delicious! I highly recommend the Korean Chirashi Don.amazing!

Quite possibly the worst interaction with a sushi chef that I have experienced!
Man was rude and condescending and didn't even try to satisfy my requests.
Food was cold and he couldn't even fulfill my requests for extra ginger or Wasabi!
Never going back!

I ordered sashimi and creamy lava roll. Sashimi were fresh. Lava roll was nothing special about. Sushi rice is over-cooked and mushy. I tried this place given the hype on the reviews. It’s a neighborhood Japanese restaurant at best.

If you're looking for some good Japanese food at an affordable price, Hakone Sushi is a great option. They have a lot of Korean influence in their cuisine, so you can find some Korean dishes on the menu as well. The staff is friendly and the flavor and quality of the food is decent. Just be aware that they don't accept American Express.

Very happy with this location. Definitely wouldn't have found it if it weren't for the reviews and I am glad we did.
The beef teriyaki don was flavorful, the meat was tender and well worth the price. Ebi sunomono and gomae were fresh and light.
Loved the salmon in the salmon roll and the dynamite roll was great.

Felt like we were being ignored by the server a lot.

The fish was pretty fresh, but the donbury was kind of sad due to the shredded Romain lettuce they put in it.

Washrooms are off in a creepy service hallway.

Overall just kind of meh.

Love the golden Cali rolls. I was remembered even after a 2 year hiatus. Quality is still amazing!

Had a last minute dinner! We ordered 4 rolls for the two of us! It was definitely delicious! Haven’t had any deep fried sushi in a while!

It's alright, small family owned sushi joint. Their price is reasonable, friendly staff, nigiri is plain and average. Their chirashi don is awesome however
