Bought Beef bones, 1 day later they were rancid. Not surprising at they were being stored at room temperature (Butcher assured me they were delivered fresh earlier that day). Beware, this is a major food safety concern.

Halal meats (chicken, beef, lamb, goat/mutton), and few other items mainly from middle east such as spices, olive oil, dates etc.are also available.

Grumpy, on phone while ordering, almost indifferent to customer. Will not return, there are other meat shops to patron.

Stopped in on a whim and happy I did. Since traveling isn't an option I was happy to find authentic Turkish and Mediterranean products and ingredients. The man who helped was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. The meat looked great and the in store made items were amazing. Sadly stopped by after picking up other food but can't wait to go back! Can't wait to eat these Turkish deserts!

Went in looking for a steak and immediately noticed most of the meats under the counter are vacuum sealed or wrapped in plastic, which is a bad sign (means not selling product and holding on to old meat). I figured I'd give it a shot though and asked for a striploin. The thing is all of the striploins were like 1/3rd just fat. The butcher hadn't trimmed the fat cap off. I worked in a meat shop and we always did that after cutting steaks off from the roasts. Nobody wants an inch and a half of fat on their steak lol. I asked him to trim the fat off and he gave me a weird look and said OK but weighed the steak up before trimming so he would charge me for the fat. I just left. No butcher who cares Sells untrimmed steaks. I get the vibe this place is cheap and reading other comments it seems to fit. The steaks looked better at the fairway next door.

We use to refer anyone in the neighborhood to go there. Great meats but the customer service is just blatantly bad. In the summer, the younger guy there was great but he's gone. The older guy now is just awkward and rude. I have a low bar for customer service after working in it myself and this was bad. It felt like I did him an injustice just coming in. We always tip but this time we got someone chewing gum in our plastic bag.that's not great. Luckily it wasn't in with the meat but on the outside. Don't recommend it.

Pretty grim customer service. I called a week ahead and ordered a Turkey and when I turned up on Christmas Eve they arbitrarily told me they didn’t have enough. Hadn’t called to let me know, so I couldn’t make any alternate plans.

Just prior closing time on Sunday Dec 05 2021, asked for 2 lbs of goat meat. The guy behind the counter first picked up the lamb meat tray. When I corrected him, he then picked up the correct tray. He then proceeds to pack 2 pieces of goat meat for me. Repeat 2 pieces! Yet again I corrected him after which he packed a very small packet for me. Though it looked & weighed unlike 2 lbs I left the store as I was already running behind. When I got home I happened to weigh the item for which I paid $27.15 incl GST (@approx $12 per pound). This came in exactly at 1 lb in weight on my home scale, though I was charged for 2 lbs. Call it incompetency or dishonesty, this is the 2nd time I've experienced something suspicious at this store, though I won't go into the details of the previous incident. The store is closed now, at the time of my post. But I am done with this store going forward. Our beautiful city of Victoria should not be tainted by this corrupt establishment. I am all for supporting small local businesses, but when you hoodwink customers opportunistically, that's a big mistake for the business owner. I've also noted there are several others who have reported a poor experience at this store. I am truly disappointed and will go back to the bigger and more reliable meat shops hereon. As another post stated: "AVOID AVOID AVOID"!

I asked for 2 pounds of lamb meat and 2 pounds of goat meat and the guy told the other guy in Arabic to give me the older lamb meat. He gave me a vacuum packed package of Lamb meat and not from the tray with fresh meat. He didn't realize that I speak Arabic. I didn't say anything because I was in total shock! I will definitely not go there again. If he said that in front of me and I clearly do not look Caucasian then I can only imagine what else he says in Arabic that the customers do not understand.

Fantastic store, bright, clean and wonderful selection of products! Even offered to source Chinotto soda for me. ️

Pros: Halal meat, friendly staff, often offer a small discount if you buy more.

Cons: meat cuts are inconsistent (e.g. Some lamb chops are less than 2 cm think and some more than 4 cm => average is good, but coocking it evenly is difficult.

I love this place. All the employees are a pleasure to interact with. They have a good selection of quality meats and other items at reasonable prices.

Always a pleasure! Steak is the only steak I have ever bought that actually compares to a proper steakhouse (The Keg, Bold Knight, Etc) The sausages are amazing. Everything is super affordable, and cheaper than the supermarket most of the time. Staff are all 10/10 wonderful.

Medhat is a good person with a great team. I drive from Nanaimo to Victoria to collect meat and spend a lot of money in transportation just to get it from his shop and he and his staff's service- totally worth it.

I have recommended this shop to many friends and will keep recommending! Keep up the good work team!

The owner Medhat and all the staff are wonderful people and always offer a warm smile making you feel right at home. Moreover, the meats are of excellent quality and there is a wide variety of other items from specialty sauces to treats from all over the world.

This is a great place to get halal meat in Victoria. Love getting the fresh meat daily. It has freshly cut oxtail, goat, lamb, duck and even seafood. But, most of all the varieties of spices, sweets and middle eastern groceries are easily found here. The Baklava is the best in town

This is a great place that caters to your needs! I wanted Kofta made for a BBQ, not only did the owner have all the right spices, vegetables and fresh mint on hand. She even made them in the burger patties which was how we were planning on serving the Kofta! I was the hit of the BBQ, the lamb and beef is very high quality and tasty!

Can't be trused.avoid avoid avoid! Terrible customer service, I won't be using the services here ever again. As a customer it is our right to have some level of transparency! The store manager Bernadette is very rude, I asked for of authenticity and was eventually told to 'get out' like I was asking for a secret recipe from her great grandmother! She asked me 'does Walmart have transparency' what a joke. Basically if you have something to hide, you can't be trusted. The only answer I got was 'my word should be enough for your trust' I'm sorry but do I know you enough to trust you? Hell no! Sort your head and attitude out. The owner 'Medhat' well what can I say. 'Birds of the same feather'

Nice lady. Meat was good. Good location. They re arranged the place and looks wider and more organized.

I love the quality of the products sold there. However today when I came to place the Christmas Turkey order I noticed a very strange and passive aggressive interaction with the lady running the store and a customer. She kept talking about food safe and cross contamination. Then proceeds to throw a frozen meet on the floor to separate it. Later after selling the meat without adequate wrapping / packaging for the customer to take it home. I believe the staff need more training in dealing with customers.
Other than that I think i like this shop a lot and love coming back to get their products. And luckily I had a good experience:)

Had good experiences until today. He took $20 from my cc earlier this week as a deposit for a turkey and then SOLD my turkey. He said he tried calling me. I was at work when he called one time. I think this is poor business practice. If you take a deposit you shouldnt be looking to sell the turkey if they dont show early in the day.
Completely ruined my thanksgiving plans. Thanks a lot.

Alia Halal offers some of the best Frenched lamb chops at a great price. I like to make Vij’s lamb popsicles and I haven’t found a better source for the lamb anywhere!

I am a regular customer of this store since last one year. The owner is a jovial and well mannered gentleman. As I know, presently he is recuperating from an injury and not attending the store regularly. I had been dealing with two nice ladies in his absence. However on 25th July, I faced a rather rude and arrogant Bangladeshi boy manning the store and was quite disappointed with his behavior. Hope the owner recovers soon and starts managing the store again.

I had a nice experience today when I visited Alia Halal Meet. On top, the owner greets you with a smile. The service is great as well as their products. It is my favorite place to get fresh meet.

Their marinated lamb chops are out of the world. Came back for more. What amazed me most is the fact that when I asked how they were made the staff actually gave me the recipe and showed me the ingredients available on their store!

Rude staff. Bad customer service. Never ever go again. Poor products. Not recommended to anyone.
