Handyman Connection of Victoria

4.5 stars seems way too high. The original estimate took awhile to happen upon booking, fair enough. After said estimate, work wouldn't begin until well past when some was needed. Okay, cancel that project, didn't care too much for the quote anyway. I didn't like the other jobs quote either, but I wanted to get a professional job on it, otherwise I'd do it myself but I took the shot going with this 4.5 star-reviewed company.

Well, we switched from doing everything we were talking about behind the scenes, apparently. I find this out following the handymans arrival. Handyman was late, no contact, job is underway but it won't be an improvement on what I had before I'm told. None of this again was discussed at all, why did I come to you? No warning before using an orbital around all my valuables without airflow was a nice bonus, too. Now I'm in a worse position than before, and out hundreds of dollars for it with less function and heat now than before the job. Seems like this company is about making the pay rather than working with the customer on what they want as this has literally taken steps backwards.

Handyman arranged to have Mark Stinson come to our apartment to give a quote and then complete the work. He was punctual, knowledgeable and efficient. We were very happy with the service provided by Handyman and by Mark.

Andy was pleasant and persistent, determined to keep trying until he got a very pesky problem fixed - which he did!

We had Andy and Cindy Sue come and help with a project. They were amazing! Even after changing my mind on something, they were able to fix it no problem.

Very friendly and always had a smile on their face. Can’t recommend them and Handyman Connection enough. Will be back!

Service was excellent. They scheduled Daryl to attend my condo the next business day for some electrical work and it was done quickly, efficiently and at a very reasonable price point. Will definitely use again for any household work.

We have just recently in the last few months started to have Handyman Connection do repairs to apartments in our building. Phil Horton especially stands out just recently in repairs of ceilings, drywall and baseboards in various apartments. We are very happy with the work he does; how clean and efficient he does the work and is friendly and sensative to make the intrusions on the residents whose privacy is affected in the apartments, a very easy thing to deal with.
I am very pleased to have found this contractor, who does not only show professionalism but also excercises his excellent people skills.
We look forward to having him being dispatched to us by Handyman Connection for many more maintenance and repair jobs in the upcoming future.

Made appointment for a consultation and they called to cancel appointment 2x the day before they were supposed to come out. Wasted 2 weeks of my time.

We called Handyman Connection to explore fence repairs. Their response was immediate. Andrew Mahon came on time on the agreed upon date to review in-person. Andrew listened to my needs including reusing the existing fence material, assessed fully, gave solid advice and quoted a fair price. All this demonstrated integrity, efficiency, patience, and excellent communication. Andrew was upfront about what can/cannot be done with reusing materials and that the job can be done by one person in one day (and it was!). I really appreciated his honesty, good nature and smile. I would also like to acknowledge Mariah Berkers – pleasant frontline staff, patient, excellent communicator, responsive and we had a good laugh about technology. I will definitely suggest Handyman Connection to others. Now that I’ve learned about their other services, I will call on them again if price is within my budget. Very pleased with repair and painting Andrew did. They were 2 relatively small, tricky jobs which he handled with first rate professionalism and excellent results. HC may charge a little more but they are responsive and send first class people quickly. Well worth it. Thank you Andrew and HC.

The process with handyman connection was refreshing compared with other handymen and contractors we have had to deal with since we bought our home. It can be a challenge to communicate and schedule with trades these days. I had a fairly simple job that they quoted me a fair price for, scheduled a time, showed up, did a good job, and kept me informed the entire way through the process. Most importantly I’m happy with the trim work that was done. I will definitely use them again for other things I need done in the house.

After the intense rainstorms in early Dec, our house in Victoria sustained some water intrusion at a doorway to the basement suite. Andrew Mahon replaced and upgraded the door seal and cleaned out the french drain. Now all good once again. Work was fast and professional delivered with Solid Covid protocols. Thanks Andrew.

After waiting 4 weeks for my work to be done and preparing rooms for painting and floor installation, received a call at 4: 00 day before to say they won't be coming. Was told they would call next week to reschedule and never heard from them again.

Andrew M.removed and replaced a rather complicated door frame and door. He did exceptional work in a timely fashion. Handyman connection could use several more tradesmen like Andrew in the Victoria area.

Andrew did some bathroom repairs and did an excellent job - he was professional and personable and cleaned everything up before leaving. We would definitely recommend Andrew to others!

I called and booked an appt, with a 2 week wait time. The day before the appt they called and confirmed which was great, however the day of the repair, I waited and after 30 minutes called to see if they were lost/running late etc. Was then told, oh we forgot to call you! He can't make it todays so we need to reschedule. I agreed and it was set for 2 days later - I confirmed if this was solid as I needed to rearrange work to be here for that time, and the woman on the phone confirmed yes, they would definitely be there. Well they didn't show, so I called 20 minutes after the apt time to be told they couldn't make it for 2 and would come at 6: 30 pm. So now, I had to change work commitments again - as they assured me that they would be there at 6: 30pm. Well at 6: 45pm I called - no one answered and no one showed up. I received a text within a few minutes saying 'the technician cannot make the appt today'. They wouldn't even pick up the phone or call me - they texted me to avoid a conversation! Incredibly unreliable, unprofessional and very poor communication skills. I booked an appt with another company, they arrived within a week, on time and did a great job. Do your self a favour and book somewhere else or book a back up! Handyman Connection will stand you up! Awful!

I had a few small jobs around the house that I needed help with. It took over a month for someone to show up to price the jobs. The work was then scheduled for a few weeks later in early July. A few days prior to the appointment I was called to reschedule, so we did. At the second appointment time, no one showed up. I called to inquire and was told they had forgotten to call and let me know. They ended up rescheduling twice more over the next few weeks. Each time, I rearrange my life/work schedule to accommodate. After the 4th time, a message was left to say that I would be called by the end of the week to pick yet another time. I was told they were committed to completing the work by the end of July. It is now Aug 4th and not only is the work not complete, no one has ever even bothered to call me back.

Andrew Mahon repaired our fence gate and our back door frame where the molding was rotted. He was friendly, on time, well prepared and knowledgeable. We would gladly use his services again

Andrew M.from Handyman Connection did an excellent job on our home repairs. He offered several solutions to the repair while keeping our budget in mind. He didn’t try to up-sell us on a more costly project. He was very friendly and completed his repairs quickly and professionally. He was careful not to make a mess and was quick to clean up after the job was done. We were so happy with his easy going manner and quality repairs that we already booked him for another job.

Chris was very professional and helpful. He certainly went above and beyond to ensure I was happy and satisfied with the work. He installed a light fixture and changed several switches from the older style to new ones, including two dimmer switches. Chris was punctual (early) and made sure everything worked properly before leaving. I highly recommend Handyman Connection Victoria.

The most unreliable service imaginable! It took forever to book, then nobody showed up, then another lengthy wait to reschedule, and yet another no-show. They even tried to book a third time and have me wait another few weeks! Absolutely awful service - the worst Handyman Connection branch in Canada!

Harlan did a great job with all my household maintenance and repair tasks. He was friendly and polite but also efficient with his time. I liked the transparency of the itemized task list and that they let you know when your service person is on the way and when they'll arrive. I won't hesitate to use them again.

I had a tri fold closet door that would not fold any longer and just hung there.
Handyman Connection sent Harlan Fowler to see what needed to be done and he came back the next day and put new hardware on closet door and once again I can I can use my closet door without it falling on my head.
Harlan did an excellent job and did not waste time. I would recommend Harlan Fowler for any job and besides he really likes dogs. That’s a big thing around here.

Handyman Connection is great to work with.
I had Chris for general electrical work - new wallboard heaters, switch replacements, moving and installing switches. He worked non stop and ensured everything was finished to my acceptance.
Kelly did drywall repair work. He was quick and efficient, and the patched drywall is perfect. Thanks so much.

Update: a few weeks later, 2nd part of the job (putting up a fence with iron gates on each side of house) was completed by Andrew.the exact lattice pattern to match existing wasn't in local inventory, however Andrew did a custom job to match and it looked even better than the original, yet still fitting in nicely. Overall we're very impressed and happy with the work.

We had Brad come to our office to take care of a variety of different things, and were thrilled with how fast and efficient he was! We'll definitely be calling again.and asking for Brad!

I received a quote on January 26 when I was told I should expect the work done in 14 days. I went with them and was pleasantly surprised when I was told I would expect them February 3 then February 5 finally February 10 which is 15 days later. You could see their pattern. They were just jerking me around and wasting my time. They had no intention of ever following through.
They kept mentioning big jobs and, as mine was small, they showed their contempt. They should have just told me they did not want my small job and I could have got someone else in who would be willing to do the work. Instead they just jerked me around and rather than have to listen to another excuse I bailed. They were not surprised as that is what they wanted all along.

Andrew came to our house and put up a very heavy mirror above the fireplace and a couple of glass shelves in the bathroom. He did a great job and we will definitely call him back to use him again! Thank you Andrew!

Andrew from Handyman Connection is super! Knew just what to do with the two jobs I needed help with - a downspout repair for my 1912 house, plus a tap repair. A friend recommend HCoV and Andrew arrived next day and quoted on the spot. Then arrived a few days later to complete the work. Very fairly priced and extremely professional & knowledgable. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and friendly, and they got back to me promptly after my initial message. In particular, Reid, our craftsman, was an absolute gem! He installed some shelves and hung some pictures for us, and I could not be more pleased. He was considerate and professional. When one of the tasks I originally inquired about couldn’t be done in a way that he felt would be safe in the long run, he apologized (unnecessarily, as it was not his fault) and made sure that the cost was taken off our invoice. I will 100% request him next time we need work done.

We needed some grout and paint repair for our bathtub area. From my very first contact with Handyman Connection of Victoria through to the end result, I was extremely impressed! For both the estimate visit and the repair visit, Andrew was on time, experienced, friendly and talked me through all of the steps and answered my many questions. Had a great experience with Brad at Handyman. He came quickly and gave us a fair quote on repairing our deck. Unfortunately, the weather didn't stay in our favour so the rest of the project will be done in the spring, but the work that he did so far was great!

Brad was very professional and helpful with the installation of an internet and hdmi cable. Would definitely use this service again.
