Happy Hounds has been a life saver for me! The staff is super helpful, knowledgeable and super friendly! The warehouse space is super clean and all the dogs are organized very professionally! My Rottweiler has been going for about 18 mos now and loves going! He is treated with lots of love and care. The prices are also very reasonable! I highly recommend Happy Hounds for any pet owner looking for a great, fun place - with peace of mind for your fur baby!

Do not bring a small dog here. I came to them concerned about the fact that my small dog was always desperate to leave, extremely thirsty, in dire need to use the washroom when she was picked up, and seemingly always kept in the tiny area behind the front desk. I was reassured that they were given constant access to water and the outside, and my fears were put to rest. It was only after someone close to me went in for an interview/ training shift that I found out I was dead right and they were rarely allowed outside and basically perpetually corralled behind the counter. It has become clear that what we used to think was excitement was actually anxiety and she became measurably happier when simply left alone at home instead of going to daycare. With rumors abound of abuse here and what I have personally witnessed I can not in good conscience refrain from writing this review, despite how nice the staff seems.

For nearly 10 years, my family and I have brought two of our boxers to Happy Hound Dogcare. Throughout the years, we have experienced exceptional service from all staff members, and have felt safe and confident leaving our dogs in their care for extended periods of time. Each of our dogs have thoroughly enjoyed spending time at Happy Hound Dogcare. We would recommend the care and space provided by Happy Hound Dogcare to anyone who is looking for a safe and accessible facility that is ran by caring, trustworthy, compassionate, and knowledgable staff

Great staff and our pup is always been treated with love and respect. He is adored and welcomed each and every visit. We always ask about his day, what dogs he has played with and we get a full and complete report. We also are friends with other people that drop their dogs off so we get reports about what our guy is up to. We trust the staff and owner and have for years. When we start preparing for that, he’s going to happy homes, he definitely give us all the happy signals, and play bows to let us know, he loves it there!

Our two Springer Spaniels love it. The grooming team does a great job. I am very confident my pack will be safely looked after.

I was happy with the trim my dog received, but she was not herself later. She was unable to jump onto the couch. She was favoring her right leg for a few days. I called the happy hound and was met with a defensive man that hardly gave me the opportunity to express my concerns. All I wanted was to see if she fell or something to give the vet an accurate history of events. Same thing we do at the hospital. I will not be returning to happy hound.

I bring my puppy here everyday and she absolutely loves it! Everytime we go in her tail is wagging and she is so excited. Best doggy daycare and so affordable as well. 10/10 recommend. Best staff and owner too. You can tell they really care for our babies!

My fur baby has been coming to Happy Hound for daycare and grooming for over 12 years. You could not find more dedicated owners and staff. The facility is spotless and even smells great! Highly recommend for socializing and the best care for your dog.

This place hits & kicks peoples dogs for misbehaving, the owners have told all the staff to abuse peoples animals for bad behaviour, it is absolutely atrocious, do not take your pets here.

I have had three of my dogs attend Happy Hounds and they all love it. We have been going for 13 years. My first dog (who has now passed away) had severe anxiety with people. Yet he absolutely loved Happy Hounds. He would light up when he knew he was going there. My other two dogs still go and they enjoy every minutes.
The owners and staff are excellent and I wouldn’t trust my babies with just anyone. A+

My dog has run away from home twice - both times it was to take himself to Happy Hound, he loves it so much! The staff is always friendly and the owner, Fraser, is very knowledgeable and friendly. A tired dog is a happy dog and Happy Hound is the doggy daycare I recommend to all my friends and family.

My puppy is always sooo excited to come to Happy Hounds & I’ve never experienced any issues or concerns with bringing her here! It’s very comforting to know she can have fun playing while I’m at work! This is personally my favourite doggy daycare in town (& Milly’s)!?

My dog loves going to daycare. The staff are all very kind. I wish he could talk so I could hear about his day and new friends when I pick him up.

Happy Hound Dog Care is the best! I always feel comfortable when my pup goes there because they take such good care of him. The owner helped me out so much when our old dog had been attacked by a pitbull out on a walk last year in Dunster Park nearby - Frasier stopped what he was doing to drive me to the animal hospital (even though I wasn't a customer at the time). Ever since I've been taking my puppy there, and he loves it — always happy when I get him back at the end of the day. Thanks to the owner and team!

I have used Happy Hound over the past 8 years for grooming and daycare for both my dogs. My rescue beagle was a handful and they were so great with him even when he got old and sick and required more special attention. The staff has also been great with my current rescue dog from Mexico. I have found them to be caring and professional. Highly recommend.

We have been bringing our lab to Happy Hounds for years! The best in Nanaimo! Happy Hounds staff are very friendly- professional - know all the dogs names! Our lab is so excited to arrive and tired to leave! Highly recommend!

We have had our pets there for over 10 years. The staff is amazing. If you mention the word daycare at my house the dogs go nuts and run to the door. I recommend them to anyone who needs a doggy daycare. Great way to socialize your pets as well. Ours were rescued and they helped them get over their phobias.

I have been taking my dog Duke to Happy Hound for a year and a half and I cannot speak more highly of this business and the staff.
Duke is always very excited when I drop him off for the day and we are always greeted warmly every time.
The girls absolutely go above and beyond to make this a fun and safe place to leave your fur babies.

Not really sure where to begin other than I would trust no one else other than Fraser and his wonderful team at Happy Hound with my Pup> Daisy does not like to be away from me but at happy hound she is safe and cared for. Always happy to go there. Believe me, I am not a very trusting person with my pup but HERE she is in amazing hands. Thank you for taking care of my puppy and See you on Saturday,
