Worst grocery store in BC. Horrible customer service. Whole place seems to be run by 14 year olds. Avoid at all costs.

Very strange. Had no milk. Plants out front were all drooping or dead from lack of water. Several other things on our list out of stock. Gave up and went to a different store.

Produce quality is great. I went into rush hours cashiers are trying there best to help everyone.

Can have decent sale prices on some items and is much cheaper than the two alternatives in Squamish. But really check the best before dates. And check your receipt at the till. Many items on sale in the online flyer (which is on the pc app and directly named for this store) for some reason are not on sale at the store. If you want the sale advertised you have to call the manager and get him to price match their own flyer…. Not very impressive. But in all fairness, the store is clean and does a good job.

Horrible. Their online grocery shopping is deplorable. This is the second time I’ve ordered groceries and the second time Independent messed up. I used the service a second time hoping that they learned their lesson. This time, I didn’t learn my lesson. This time I send a grocery delivery service to pick up groceries which was not cheap. And can you believe the grocery store forgot $50 worth of groceries and still charged me for it? When I called back the store and spoke to the manager - she thought it was funny. I wasn’t laughing. This is their second apology to me and I won’t be shooting at this store again lol

Not offering bags I forget mine used a box.
But I see they ask for a 2 dollars donation?
No bags no donation.

Seems to be the grocery store in squamish with the most economical options, but that being said, certain things still cost way too much (e.g. Meat).
Inventory is often an issue here. Plan your visits with when they get resupplied.
Remember to check the health food section, which has a lot of better options for things you may think they simply don't have, but are actually just located on the other side of the store (doesn't make any sense).
Bring your own bags. They typically have boxes, but that's not always the case, and some will have no bottoms in them.

Just dashed in there and bought a couple of egg salad sandwiches. Rating is low though because I had serious tummy trouble afterwards. My partener had mild tummy trouble after eating the sandwich.

Very poor produce department and only a 24 hour return policy to get reimbursed for your rotten food. Definitely not the store it used to be!

Great place to get ready cooked snacks and meals if staying in Squamish or on the way to Whistler or off to a picnic around this amazing area. Lots of hot and ready to choose from plus all the regular supermarket products.

Some of the best cuts of meat, especially beef, that I have seen in a local grocery store anywhere, well done!

This place is super convenient when I need to get my shopping done on the way to outdoor activities on the weekend.

I am an out of towner, but still make a point of stopping by here on my way through to get what I need, because they have it all. (within reasonable expectations, of course)

I have always had a positive experience within the store, and the staff here at Hector's are significantly more friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous than any of the staff at the grocery stores where I come from.

Charged for an item I did not purchase. Was not reimbursed for my time wasted getting a refund. Disappointing.

Can of President choice tonic water blew up in my hand brand new from the box. Never had that happen in 40 years off my life

Tiny Asian section. Produce is never really great. Everyone looks overworked (management's fault, not the hardworking staff). Why, oh why, do you carry VH sauces instead of Presidents Choice sauces?: (

On the way to Whistler it's handy store to pick up households items fresh and frozen food, it's seems busy place not always everything is available?

I don't like this place very much, the workers aren't always nice and I've seen bad food quality a few times (you shouldn't have rottig lettuce out guys, come on). Definitely not a fan.

They sell undercooked rotisserie chicken all the time and they leave it in the displays for way over the time limit.

Every time I shop here there are several items I can't buy because the shelves aren't stocked. The produce is often wilted and sometimes rotting.

The layout in this place doesn't make sense. Similar products are not in the same place. Until you start to remember that they have things like milk in 3 locations across the store, you will waste a lot of time just wondering around.

Limited covid measures in place at present. Friendly staff, decent selection. Would recommend for convenience if not shopping local.

Mini superstore. Sells all superstore brands like PC.
Smaller sized store but lots of product.

Strike one was finding mouse droppings in the package of vermicelli noodles I had bought and immediately opened to make dinner. I brought them back and asked the manager to pull the product off the shelf and check the warehouse, to which he asked if the bag had a hole in it or how long it had been at my house. "No and less than 5 minutes, I just bought it and opened it right away. " He didn't seem to care or believe me and when I went back the next day they were still selling them.

Strike two is for the lack of customer service during Covid-19. Being a momprenuer working without childcare during this pandemic is really challenging. I had checked the store hours the night before to see if they'd be open in the morning, so I could get dog food before having to work. It said they were open at 8am, but when I showed up at 8am with my 2yr old in tow to get a few cans of dog food I was told "seniors only till 9". I had to work at 9, I explained, and asked if someone could help grab a few cans and bring me the machine to pay. I know they do this for online pick up orders. Without asking anyone, she told me no they wouldn't want to do that. I felt like crying that someone wouldn't help a working mom get a couple cans of dog food during these challenging times. The lack of compassion to help someone in need is why I will never shop with them again.

Great prices on all kinds of food from frozen, produce, meats and snacks; toothbrushes and affordable/large tubes of toothpaste

I wish i could rate higher. There seems to be too often times when what you need isn’t there. I do feel some changes have been made as of late to make the store overall a bit better. I wish the prices aligned with Superstore too.

Had all the necessities we needed. Most of their produce and meats were fresh, although not all.

Oh my! The workers have the worst Customer service that I have ever seen. I seen them harass the customers. The management doesn't care about store employees or the customers. They don't like it when you use a coupon. They have many worker but they just act like they are stocking the shelves but they don't. Nothing is ever in Stock. And when you ask for help they just look puzzled and say I am not sure and walk away. The prices of the food is more expensive than any other store. If I could I would give this place a negative 5 stars or a zero.

Produce is too expensive for the quality you get. Their store is setup like a bargain store. But the prices are the same as nesters that has a much better quality and store design.

Be vary wary of the expiry dates it looks like the little kids that run the place leave stuff out until its sold. Have gotten yogurt home to realize it was 2 weeks over the date. Took it back a week later and complained and they STILL had it on the shelf so I got a refund. Too bad thry don't seem to care but this happens all the time. Buyer beware+

Make sure to check your expiry dates. Went to go buy yougurt one was a few weeks overdue & the other one was a few days overdue. Had problems with lunch meat being green.

Great place to grab groceries if you live in Squamish. Very well stocked with all kinds of groceries at reasonable price. Also has self checkout kiosks which is nice.

This is the best place in town to fill your pantry for cheap. The bakery is horrible. My bread is almost always stale. But there are always great sales around. Don't forget your candy cane ice cream, it's the best. I love that the deli let's you shop while they complete your order.
