The staff was nice, and helpful! But.the car did not have the map function in that dash installed. Vancouver can be VERY hard to navigate and i thought about switching vehicle companies on that basis alone. What modern car rental company doesn't have the map function, or android auto, capabilities. The car also already had several scratches, and the car screen said 'maintenance required, see your dealer'. When I asked the attendant. He just said not to worry, it probably just needs to be reset. But it's a rental car in an unfamiliar city. Hard not to worry.

Cant beat their service. Their cars are always in good condition and clean. Easy check out / check in if you are a gold member

RUDE customer service. When we book car on their website they said electric car is optional, when we arrived tell a man who work at service desk we said “can we get electric car? We want to experience it. ” That old man said “NO NO NO NO NO” do you even know how to talk people POLIITLY?Now you won’t have our next business because no no no no no and bye.

Manager's special mentioning I might get an electric car, then when I asked them they said I have to pay extra fee for EV. They shouldn't advertise that if they don't want to giving out EV with Manager's choice option. Also, lady from pick up wasn't nice.
I still give a three star because drop off location staff was very nice.

Just dropped my car off and noticed the rental fee was double what I had expected. It turns out that it was due to the insurance. I was told that it would be 60 dollars for full coverage but it was actually 60 dollars PER DAY. That was not verbally mentioned at any point and had I have known that it would be that expensive I would have opted out.

Tried calling support multiple times and was either sent to voicemail (which was full) or told there was nothing that could be done. Feel like I’ve been scammed out of hundreds of dollars.

UPDATE: called them about three different times. Was repeatedly told there was no Supervisor or Manager available to speak to but they would reach out to me within 24 hours. Haven't heard back at all. Please use any other company to rent a vehicle.

I was discriminated by manager and he found every excuse to not give me a car. Terrible place, if you don't look rich stay away. Horri ble experience. I wishing them bankrupt

Upto now good experience.dreadful issues at the Downton branch. Sent by customer services (after £129.00 worth of phone calls) to the airport branch.lost days holiday but.quick polite team.no messing, they just sorted us a decent car and took back the dreadful one we had from another branch.hopefully, there will be no hidden catch or costs. Will update

Just returned my car to hertz with a full tank of gas - did not see receipt until I checked into my flight at Vancouver airport - attendants reported my tank as empty … and was charged 3.75 /litre as if I had returned it empty -. After calling customer service I now have to send in receipts confirming I filled the car up with gas.beware of lazy attendants when you return the car at hertz!

Poor service. Unprofessional and rude staff. Their cars are dirty and if we told them to replace, they behave rudely like we are getting it for free.

Made the reservation through third party platform for a mid-size SUV (travel with a toddler) and initially they're gave me a Kia, the car was dirty and smelly and I've requested to change to another vehicle. They end up gave me a Jeep wrangler instead, however, the bumper on the front left was scratched and we didn't noticed at the first place. When we returned the vehicle to the location they insist that was caused by us and that's not true, lesson learned. I'm posting this review just to remind other customers to check twice on the details when they offer you with the off-road vehicle, especially the bumpers. Hope this helps.

A friend and I borrowed a rental car from Hertz and unfortunately we are not at all satisfied.
Nobody looked at the car with us at the beginning and we had to document all the damage ourselves. We were also recommended to “buy” the gas in the car from Hertz and return the car empty, as the gas from them was much cheaper. This was not the case. On our road trip (BC and Alberta) we didn't find a single gas station that was more expensive than the price per liter at Hertz. It's better to always pick it up and bring it back full, otherwise you'll leave the “leftover gas” in the car to the rental company without a refund. They saw that we were two young women who had no experience renting cars and wanted to earn extra money from us. We therefore feel that we did not receive honest and sincere advice and would therefore go to a more trustworthy company next time. Our friendly complaint was also brushed off in an unfriendly manner. We are disappointed.

Poor customer experience picking a car up. They’re telling every person checking in that they will need to wait in line for 30 minutes unless we upgrade to a premium car which is miraculously ready to go right now. Seems like a very shady business practice at the expense of the customer.

Maria and Susan provided me with a minivan rental, and the service was incredible! From the kind receptionist to the lot employees, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that I was familiar with the automobile. I was grateful for the entire event as I drove away. To my family and friends, I heartily endorse them.

I rented a Tesla Y from them and the service blew me away! From the engaging lady at the front desk to the lot staff who took the extra care and attention to make sure I was well versed with the vehicle. I drove away happy and grateful with the whole experience. I would highly recommend them to family and friends.

They didn’t have enough staff on the desk and those that were working were mind numbingly slow. It took at least 45 mins to get my car. Also they don’t seem to coordinate with their resellers. The reseller said I needed to pay a specific amount on pickup, but Hertz required a different more expensive and unrelated amount.

Worst customer service! I'm not fluent in English, but the staff who served me spoke Indian English. I was annoyed by the fact that there were a lot of things I didn't understand, and they didn't even ask me to sign. Moreover, they didn't explain anything and didn't even show me the quote. It was an atmosphere that said that it would not get through anyway. It was the worst customer service during my trip to Canada so far, and it's so bad that I don't even want to give 1 star!

Just fantastically slow. When I book a car in advance I expect it to be ready. I don't expect to wait for 45 minutes while they wash it.

We picked up the car with Hertz at the airport. It was a smooth operation, and the agent helped us with all directions, like how to get to our hotel and suggest (Sunil) what to see in the area. He gave us all of the options about insurances and roadside assistance, but did not make us uncomfortably when we decided not to buy any of that. Also, there are plenty of agents at the counters ready to help us, so we did not help to wait after a long trip. Very good customer service at this Vancouver International Airport. We can't say the same in some of our past experiences. Also, the car is very nice and clean from inside to outside, there were few times I had to take the car to the car wash after I picked up the car. Very good experience at this location, and thank you to Sunil.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. You cannot connect to a live person at the Vancouver airport location by phone. The automated system continues to send me to a voicemail box that is full so I cannot leave a message, Or it just disconnects. I need to add an additional driver to a current rental because by husband is having a medical emergency and cannot drive. The 1-800 number cannot do that and continues to give me a number that nobody answers. There is no one answering the phone at the Vancouver location. I can’t return the vehicle because he cannot drive it. Even the roadside emergency sends me to a loop of more automated systems and won’t connect to a live agent.
