Hi Dozo Sushi

First order from this restaurant and I am pleasantly surprised! Prices are fair and food was good. I used to travel further to order sushi but will come here now.

The chicken teriyaki bento is so good! It is much much cheaper than other restaurants! The server is friendly and polite

Three of us visited for lunch, and from the time we entered until we left, there were no other customers in the restaurant. Although it was a bit unsettling, we decided to order the Sashimi Bento, unifying our choices. I was surprised to see the rice served in this manner, especially when not ordering a Teriyaki Bento. The reason for choosing the Sashimi Bento was to consume fewer carbohydrates, but I couldn't help but think it would have been better if they included a few pieces of California roll. Unfortunately, there were no side dishes to accompany the rice. The plating is not up to expectations. Even with only three people dining in the restaurant, there was inconsistency in the size of the tea cups and soy sauce dishes. I find it hard to comprehend the high review ratings. While the food was not bad, there is a need for significant improvement.

Ordered takeout while it was empty. Got a California combo and asked for only tuna nigiri instead of the standard mix of tuna and salmon, as salmon is a trigger food for my medical condition.

The person who took my order was very nice, but I've just gotten home to find only SALMON nigiri and no tuna. So now I can't eat half my dinner and the restaurant doesn't have a website or Facebook page for me to message them.

If you're going to get takeout here check your order before leaving so you're not stuck with food you can't eat like me.

Ordered g-dragon roll, spider roll, appetizer sm and chicken karaage for take out, they look good and taste good, made my nightprice's reasonable, $30+ for one person here was because I ate a lot, hahaha.def will go back

I ordered the appetizer tempura, it was good. But the seafood udon was not great. It tasted very bland.

Also, the menu is HUGE. Too many options, I was overwhelmed. No one can have so many ingredients readily available and fresh!

Very nice place, I have been there two times in the last month, for a late dinner. Beef Udon s super tasty. We also have tried chicken teriyaki, veggie gyozas, asparagus sushi, salmon & tuna rolls and obviously miso soup. Next time I will try sashimi. Menu has enough variety. The dishes in which the food is served is "very Japanese", liked it. No need spend in drinks as "free" tea is fairly good. Service is good, friendly and quick. They look hard working, there were 4 persons working at the most. The place does not look very appealing from outside (I cannot exactly tell what it is, but the outside does not call my attention) but inside is cozy, warm and clean. I saw that most of their activity is for take out orders. Prices are reasonable. There is free parking lot (I guess $1.5/hour) one block away (Belmont and the 7th street). I understand they have been in business for 10+ years (not sure if the administration is the same). I will definitely keep visiting the place, specially because Victoria Sushi is not so close and Sushi Well closed a couple of weeks ago). I am hungry after writing this review.ja, ja.

I've ordered from here Multiple Times and I've referenced my Prawn allergy when ordering.

Today I ordered the Hidozo Lunch Bento Box which comes with (Miso, Salad, Daily Special, Chicken or Beef Teriyaki and your choice of a roll.

After dealing with an emergency I sit down to eat and I open the main portion of my Bento. There's no Chicken or Beef Teriyaki but an order of Tempura.with 3 pieces of Prawn Tempura which are practically touching everything inside the container.

I tried calling multiple times over an hour but it keeps saying "Line Busy" so I have no clue what to do.

Tipped 15% to almost get poisoned.thanks so much.

Went in to order 3 non-specialty rolls for takeout today and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I asked if I could wait in the restaurant and the cashier (also the only server I saw) said okay so I sat down in their waiting area so I’m not taking up a table. When I arrived there was one table dining in and I think 2 or 3 more groups of 2 arrived while I was waiting.

20 minutes pass and I assume the chef is just busy with the dine in and the phone orders I’ve heard the server accept so I continue to wait, assuming they’d bring my food over when it was ready.

After 30 minutes I go up to ask for an update to see if my food would be much longer and the server says “oh you’re back! ” and proceeds to hand me a bag with my food.

I never left the building after ordering and I’ve never had problems waiting for take out in their waiting area when I visited years ago with my mom. It used to be when the order was done they’d bring it over to you and I wasn’t told I’d have to come back up to the register to collect my order.

The sushi itself tasted okay but I probably won’t be back as I found the server kind of dismissive and I only came in because Sushi Well is closed and I was craving sushi.

Sidenote for customers: Their dynamite roll is the same size as the California roll (maki size) so if you’re expecting the larger size which most places do that’s not the case here.

Excellent place. Great service and good food. Had Monkey Brain sushi. Tasted fantastic and really good presentation. Go in and ask what's in it. Also had the Udon soup with beef, well presented and tasty. Prices are average.

I work in a nearby mall.
I eat Chirashidon at this restaurant once a week.
Their food ingredients are very fresh. The food ingredients and taste are very good.
The server is very kind.

Their food is delicious! It's my dad's favourite sushi place and he's a very picky eater. Miso soup has a lot of seaweed and tofu which most restaurants don't include. Sushi is fresh tasting and their special rolls are really good.

I question recent 5 star reviews, cold, undercooked, bland, styrofoam packaging was excessive. Toro sashimi wasn't bad but not cut properly.

Ordered delivery and the sushi was great! Unfortunately everything was packaged in styro-foam. Sadly, we will not be ordering again until they change to more responsible biodegradable containers.

Just ok and the fish in the rolls is not the greatest. This is the spicy sushi combo. I think it used to be better before

The Korean lady was rude, she made the wrong order, when I came home, it wasn't what I ordered at all. Called her and she said that because I said Tuna instead of Salmon! I knew what I said, bad service, I don't recommend it. You are deserved better service with the same amount of money.

Paid $40 for leftovers. Rice was like the rice you get at a grocery store, cold not sticky and hard. BBQ eel was cold. How. How can you take our money like that.

Ordered from Uber tonight and couldn't me more satisfied. Agedashi tofu and gyoza were crispy. Rolls were a perfect size and prices were fantastic. Will be ordering again.

Got from Uber eats had 2 salmon and Avocado rolls all of the pieces had gross skin on them and I don’t even know if it was skin I could not eat it did not look right or taste right. I eat sushi a lot and have never had a gross skin on my salmon sashimi. Don’t waste your money, order from somewhere else.

In all honesty Japanese food in gvr are all 95% good. No exception here. Their lunch boxes at amazing at 8.99.5stars

Order it from uber and the rice were not cooked at all.
Couldn't eat it at all because the rice was too hard too chew and the yakisoba we ordered was drenched in a salty sauce and impossible to eat it. Called the restaurant to tell them about the problem but was told they will call back because they are busy. Waste of money and time waiting for the food. Truly an awful place. They should not run a restaurant at all even when they know theres a problem and they are doing nothing to fix it.

We got take-out, and the food was delicious and prices were reasonable. The portions aren't really that small, but they're not overly generous either.

Pros:
- Food is very tasty
- Prices are decent
- Food was ready quickly
- Good vegetarian options

Cons:
- Friendlier service would be nice, felt a bit cold but maybe she had a bad day

Lots of interesting vegetarian/vegan rolls! The crunchy broccoli is really good, and they make their miso without fish (so it's vegetarian/vegan)!

I ordered udon and rolls. Rolls are quite similar to the other's but Udon is just looks like Parasite. Cause there's only noodles and that's all. I've NEVER EVER EVER seen this before IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

50 minutes after I order from UberEats, it was cancelled. Not even an apologize message. Congratulations. You guys have the worst customer service ever.

VERY bad customer service especially the lady with the red hair at the cashier is very rude to customers and all she does is roll her eyes, She made me and the person I was with sit where ever she wanted and when we asked her that we wanted to sit somewhere else she said “ nO “ In a rlly rude way even though there was many empty spots where we wanted to sit. Good food but the service needs a lot of improvement and they need to get rid of the lady is the red hair because THiS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME.

Reasonably priced, service was quick, staff was polite. But the whole table we were seated was sticky for some reason. Our bentos' tempura and sashimi were thinly sliced, and the 2 tea cups we were using happened to be chipped.: (

Best salmon sashimi in all of greater Vancouver. Also get the double crunch roll, you won't regret it.

Service could be a bit better. The food is good. One of the best sushi restaurants in New West.

Good sushi place, I go there because it is near my house. Good selection of rolls, busy in the evenings, very polite service.

I asked the waitress to serve us politely at 1: 34 on a Tuesday and she took 5 minutes at the till and then proceeded to clean tables after. I don't complain much but come on lady I'm on lunch break.

Portions were a bit small but good quality. The miso soup was creamy and had nice big pieces of seaweed. We ordered a variety of nigiri and had their House roll (regular tuna instead of spicy), which they easily accommodated.

Go here if you want to be accused of stiffing a bill even though you paid in full with what the server rang up on the till. Never will give them patronage again and have shared this horrible experience with the friends and family that also used to come here as well.

Best Sushi spot in New Westminster, one of their specialties is called Monkey Brains, which is fried avocado, and it utterly divine. Everything about the food here is great from the presentation, the taste, and the cost. Definitely a place to check out!

Loved this place! The eel roll was absolutely delicious but when I went there again, the place was closed without any signs or anything. Now I'm confused, are they out of business?

Just popped in here with my Fiancé after a festival. We were pleasantly surprised on the quality of the food & service. We ordered a few rolls and soup. We'll make this a future stop for another visit to New West!

Great food great service been going since 2008 if you're in the mood for sushi and tempura definitely recommend going here

Customer service as absent. Waited 10 min, then finally had to flag someone down just to take our order. Food was mediocre.

Horrible service.the woman who works at the cashier and takes your take out order is RUDE. Rudest person i have ever met. Probably the worst sushi place ive ever been. Thank god i will never come here again. I love sushi its my favourite food and this place made me hate it.

I had a sashimi & sushi bendo, for the price of $12.99 is reasonable but I didn't not like the fact that the salad was not fresh it was just stale icebird lactace and the dressing was those typical Japanese salads dressing that you could buy from a jar. The salmon sashimi tasted that it was sitting on the counter for a while. And the tempura was very greedy. Overall I will not go back again because the food does not taste very fresh to me

Sushi and sashimi is really good quality. Shared a dragon boat - good presentation and flavour pallet.
