I am new to salmon fishing and had the greatest experience here. I have read other reviews about Eli and can't say enough about this guy and his customer service. Obviously a passionate fisherman and so helpful getting me going. I felt super comfortable admitting my rookie status and his suggestions were bang on for my skill level. Looking forward to going back here and seeing both Eli and Matt and getting up to speed on our local waters. Thanks guys!

I have been going there for over 8 years! I always work with Matt! He is super helpful and knowledgable. From Fly Fishing all the way to Salt Water Fishing he knows it all! Store have good variety of stuff. Matt helped me get into Fly Fishing, he is the greatest instructor also amazing person to deal with in the shop! I normally only deal with him!

Went to this tackle shop and asked the asian worker about some lures. Immediately shut down with a rude and negative attitude saying no we don't have those, nobody has those with no other information.
I see others have had negative interactions with this worker.

What a great store! Eli, is the top boy! This lad has unbelievable knowledge of the area, incredibly polite and great suggestions to get you catching fish! Probably the best customer service I’ve ever had at and outdoor store! Will definitely be coming back!

Highwater is a great shop! The team there is top notch. Matt has helped me through many issues from purchasing rods, reels and waders, to tying flies, to super helpful information on rivers.

I had to get some wading equipment for work (waders and boots) and they carry women's sizes! When I visited early last year they only had men's sizes in stock but luckily after trying again this year they had the full range of women's sizing in store. The staff were extremely helpful and they had a good variety of sizes and styles of waders and wading boots. I would highly recommend this store!

Highwater Tackle is a great store with friendly knowable service.
Jin is a great guy to chat with and knows his BC waters well.great guy to chat too if you need info on a Bonefish or Permit trip as well.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Have been going here for the last few years since I moved to North Van and it’s the most knowledgeable and friendly place!

Today, I went to this store, I really have very bad experience during shopping. I am the beginner of fishing, and I was so respect to the store staff, but the staff’s attitude was so rude, arrogant and unfriendly! I was completely shocked according to the last time I came to the store. He was so impatient to listen what I need. I wanna say that nobody is born to know how to fish, if u don’t wanna teach other, plz be respectful to others

I have been a customer of Highwater for as long as I can remember. I enjoy just dropping by and talking fishing. The crew always provide sound advice. Grateful for having this "mom and pop store" so close and on the North Shore. Can't wait to head down and start gearing up for the spring ice off.
