Great experience with Mateen. Got sold my crosstrek about a year ago for an amazing price (Rebuilt) and i thought i’d run into problems but the car has functioned amazingly on many road trips and in the snow. One problem was run into with the apple carplay system however mateen was very helpful with getting me in touch with a mechanic and covered the fee entirely as it was still under warranty. Thank you again

Just finished buying a car from highway auto sales, mateen helps us find a great deal. He listened to what we wanted, and didn't pressure us into something we didn't want. He provided us with superior customer service and helped us find a deal on a car we liked.

Highway Auto Sales sells rebuilt status vehicles. This means they were written off by insurance companies because the cost to repair exceeded the value of the vehicle and they are then sold for scrap or are rebuilt by people like Mateen. Since I knew not thing about buying rebuilt, and before my purchase, I asked him about purchasing rebuilt vs accident free. He assured me, because of the thorough and rigorous inspection process through The BC Ministry of Transportation, that they were very good vehicles, he said better than buying other used vehicles. So, when I asked again if there were any problems with buying them, he assured me there weren't.
Based on that, and all of the supporting documents, I bought the vehicle. Due to a change in circumstances a few months later, I needed to sell. Upon calling the first few dealerships, I found out that rebuilt vehicles are REFUSED ENTRY TO THE UNITED STATES, the FACTORY WARRANTIES ARE VOID, and that there is easily a 50% DEVALUATION in value over comparables! Mateen failed to mention any of this to me when I asked before buying the vehicle.
I immediately contacted Mateen and he assured me that the devaluation was not 50%. When I asked about another vehicle he was selling, he said the best he could do was an even trade on a vehicle $6800 less than my original purchase price. The trade he offered would have meant a 50% devaluation or more to comparable vehicles on the market. I ended up trying my vehicle with another dealership, who helped me out of a difficult situation - although it did cost me the 50% devaluation.
