Lineup for skating was very long on the first day we went, when we arrived 5mins after skate time began. There is also a cap. Skating rink allowed sign-in 30min prior to start time, so we arrived early the next day.

I grew up here! Some things have changed, but the memories will never! Played soccer, coaching here. Good times.

Such a beautiful park. Great to bring the family, go for a stroll, day or night. Bring the dog too.
30 July 2023 9:03
Nice park, excellent facilities, swimming pool, ice skating rink, gym, library, tennis courts, etc, etc, etc.
Right in front of Queen Elizabeth Park
18 July 2023 16:48
It has everything here and close by. Swimming pool, coffee, ice cream, library, fitness center, ice rink, and so on.
09 January 2023 7:36
There always seems to be a pool open here to take the kids to. The 'River' is a fantastic float for young and old. Reasonably clean for a busy community center.
24 December 2022 16:34
Great venue. Nice pool for family. Ice surface isn't the very best in Vancouver but the dressing rooms and benches are good
14 December 2022 2:02
Great place for the whole family, pool, ice rink, library, community center, soccer fields. Parking was a bit busy at times and the adjoining kids playground is kind of weak.
09 December 2022 7:29
Great community place. They have alot of facilities that you can use, ie gym, pool, ice rink, Snack bar and a library.
23 November 2022 8:42
Excellent facilities for everyone and everything, pool and hot tub great. Pickleball fun! Table tennis, yoga, pool - I think they have everything
22 October 2022 2:35
Nice pool, busy. Changerooms not that clean, staff should monitor the family changerooms as single or couples are using the family changerooms and showers. Long wait times
03 October 2022 20:43
I love Hillcrest, it's so busy though, the powers that be need to duplicate this place somewhere else in Vancouver.
27 September 2022 6:20
Awesome for kids.another more swimming pools and a outdoor pool as well. Highly recommended if you have kids
16 September 2022 8:36
Coached a game at the baseball diamond here. I love Nat Bailey, and the other amenities may be better but the field was near unplayable. Poorly maintained, litter, graffiti etc. It is a great neighborhood, we expected better.
28 August 2022 15:35
It's very kid friendly and the community and the area feels very safe for my toddler. The amenities are clean and they have everything for sport activities from the gym, swimming pool and ice rink and a number of fields as well. If you're into baseball, the stadium is just right beside. Parking is easy to find except when there's a game but there is some street parking around so it's not that big of a deal. If you want to chill and lounge around there's a library and a cafe inside that even sells ice cream perfect for the weather right now! Perfect cold sweet treat for my toddler as well! If you have kids definitely recommend this place.

My daughter played a hockey game at Hillcrest and the ice was fine.cold as heck in the rink as there were no visible heaters for spectators but quality of ice surface was fine. However, in a stupid move by unthinking bureaucrats, they shut down the lobby area of this community centre hours before they shut down the ice surface and kick everyone out of the temperature controlled viewing area in the lobby. They force you to go into the unheated spectator area in the frigid rink! The lobby is not the most thoughtfully designed area to view the ice surface, as there is a piece of wood that bisects the view through huge picture windows that would otherwise make it the perfect place to watch from, but at least it would be nice and warm. Hillcrest, you need a new facilities manager with a brain!

Great place to go for a fancy swim, workout, and use their modern library. I like their whirlpool.
16 April 2022 20:06
There is a small playground tucked in the corner before the entrance. Its a great field for almost any ball sport. They also have a turf field closer to 33rd, just check with the community center using any of the fields.
11 April 2022 14:49
Its a great community center that offers a large variety of activities, a library, a pool, ice rink, food and drinks, baseball, soccer and many other amenities.
20 April 2021 7:27
Massive community center and pool and skating rink inside it. It also has a moderate playground and even another one across the street. The staff are friendly and nice and are very helpful.

Nice pool, busy. Changeroom not that clean, staff should monitor the family changerooms as single or couples are using the family changerooms and showers. Long wait times

28 December 2020 18:13
Long standing city park close QE Park. It has many facilities including an Olympic sized pool and a stadium.
19 December 2020 8:22
From the southern side of Vancouver I think its some of the most amazing views.ohh! BUT let's not forget all the beautiful lushness of forest.
IT IS GORGEOUS:) :) :)
08 November 2020 22:40
Lots of space for young kids to run around, including big hills, walkways, lawn and an astroturf field. Fun trick - put a 2 year old on a painted white line in the baseball diamond and they'll continue following the line. My kid ran in circles for 5 minutes straight.
11 April 2020 9:07
Often very crowded, and if you have tattoos you had better be ok with everyone staring like they've never seen one before, also a lot of Band-Aids in the pool area, could be cleaner. The adults are usually way more annoying that the children at this pool, bit the hot tub is a good size So I keep going back
07 April 2020 17:36
Awesome location for a variety of different sports and activity. Well maintained and on good days, absolutely a blast to relax
28 December 2019 9:25
Lots to do here!
Olympic Legacy, Community Center, public library, giant swimming pool, outdoor pool, ice rink, curling rink, pre-school, grass and artificial sports fields, playground, water geyser/art installation, gymnastics facility.
My only complaint is that the parking lot could be better designed and less annoying to get around. Maybe time to build a 2 storey structure between the centre and the baseball stadium?
21 September 2019 4:48
Kids playing in Provincial baseball tournament. Great organization by LMB, convenient, clean facilities and good coffee at Blue Parrott.yes
01 September 2019 1:14
Too many people complain about foul balls when they are near the baseball fields. They also complain if you are playing catch while they walk by. I've never seen so many people complain just to complain.
25 July 2019 18:04
Fields are in good shape. Parking is a bit scarce. Traffic is annoying when committing by bike - drivers just aren't interested in letting bikes access safely.
19 June 2019 18:48
Great Ball Diamond plenty of areas to get sun or shade. Spend the day indoors at the rink or pool or spend it outside at one of the four diamonds
19 May 2019 11:03
Nice park at even better location.
Nat Bailey stadium, Queen Elizabeth park, few stores at waking distance. Lots of Street parking. Good neighborhood.
08 May 2019 21:47
Hillcrest is a hub of activity hosting field facilities for team sports such as eurpoean football (soccer) and baseball. Hillcrest also is the site for the community recreational centre which hosts multiple facilities to swim, work out, curl, ice skate, and play hockey. Dog friendly and family friendly. Close to Vancouver tourist destinations such as Nat Bailey Stadium and Queen Elizabeth Park.
10 February 2019 7:00
Went there to watch a LMBA game, the boys in our league look after the field, they do what they can and do good work, great games to watch 18+ division 30+ division and a 45+ division

Whether you're looking for a wide range of physical activities and classes offered by the City of Vancouver; a tasty meal or snack; a large multiuse swimming pool; outdoor soccer and baseball fields; a place to run your dog; or a quiet spot to have lunch outdoors, Hillcrest Park delivers. This community center is a definite give of activity ranging from day care programs for Pre-K, to curling to various styles of ballroom dancing, to martial arts, salting lessons and ice hockey league training and play. The facilities are maintained and pay tribute to the former site's use as one of the venues for the 2010 Olympics that were hosted by Vancouver. The multiuse Pol area is substantial and actively supervised by multiple life guards. The cafe is full service boasting everything from hot single serve lunches to sandwiches to treat and fresh scooped ice cream.

In regards to the pool:

Excellent facility, when it is not too crowded our busy. I recommend coming in during early mornings or late evenings if you want some space and quiet. During weekday afternoons, it also gets pretty nice if it isn't summer or a school holiday.

The hot tub has been described as healing, and I enjoy the open space. The change rooms, despite the hourly cleaning, get messy because people track in dirt. The constant outside dirt, and almost clockwork crowdedness have reduced the rating to 4 stars for me.
