Hime Sushi

I thought the food was pretty good for takeout! The udon was very very bouncy and loved the texture, the sauce was savory and creamy but a bit too much like mayo, wished there was a bit more kimchi.the scallop roll was good, rice was soft and not overwhelming, torched with white sauce even though i asked for no sauce.besides the communication mishaps, i eventually got my food after a short wait.

Used to be 5 star. Now I can only give 1. Daily bento used to be 2 boxes or more. Now 1 box fits it all despite the increase in price. Inflation is understandable. However, fish is NOT FRESH in the seafood salad. Imagine spending $40 and fish is not fresh. I threw out most of the seafood salad. Won’t be returning. Quite difficult to find good restaurants nearby. So really sad for this.

Good food and cozy atmosphere. The salmon is always fresh and there is a variety of dishes. We ordered the Mother’s Day combo for take-out and our whole family loved it.

Favourite sushi place in the neighborhood! Great quality fish, easy to chew seaweed, good portion sizes, reasonable pricing. Very good, and very nice service:)

UPDATE: looks like there might be new owners BC some stuff changed and food seems to have dropped a little in quality, still good though

Home is open for dine in again! I went there for dinner yesterday with my partner and we both had a great time. The food quality, quantity and price were great and it feels as cozy as it did before. The bento set was absolutely value for money. Their loyalty program also seems pretty good if you plan on eating there often enough. Absolutely will be going back many more times like the pre covid days.

We ordered takeout from Hime Sushi and brought it back for dinner to a friend's house. It was a late night dinner after having gone to see a movie and this restaurant was convenient as it was less than 5 minutes walk from our friend's house. They're a small restaurant and appear to be only doing takeout orders at the moment. On the table we had: Avocado roll, Veggie Gyoza, Tuna Sashimi, Chicken Teriyaki and Tofu Teriyaki.

The Avocado roll and Tuna Sashimi were probably the best items. The Avocado roll was generously packed with avocado, and the tuna sashimi slices looked pretty decent in regards to the thickness of the slices. My daughter said her Veggie Gyoza slices could have been crispier on the outside. She said this one was quite soggy. All of the Teriyaki dishes were extremely plain. They were literally just Chicken or Tofu thrown together with rice and sauce. We'd have appreciated a few more ingredients to have been included. Some veggies and/or even just a pile of bean sprouts would have been an improvement. The teriyaki sauce wasn't exactly spectacular either. We've tasted much better teriyaki sauce.

I think sushi rolls, sashimi and any other cold food is probably a safe bet at this restaurant but can't recommend any of the cooked foods.

I tried Hime Sushi for the 2nd time (first time now under their new management) and it is now my go-to spot. The service was staff are welcoming and kind. They're attentive without being over baring, and the restaurant has a very warm charm to it.

My partner and I got the Yamyam roll, Paradise roll, and Avocado roll. The rice for the rolls was fresh and well seasoned, and the salmon did not have a fishy taste like other restaurants tend to have. The tea we were served as well was very clear and had a bright flavor to it.

This location is an absolute must try if you're passing through UBC/Kits. I can't wait to have more from their menu!

My favourite sushi place in the whole city. Not only the sushi quality is excellent but their service is quick, affordable and they are some of the nicest people I’ve met.

Every single roll I tried was great, no exception, but the deep fried California and the house dynamite roll are the ones that have impressed me the most.

They’re always so quick and so kind! They added a free miso soup one day (I’d been there a couple times) and put a little smiley face on it and it was adorable. Best tasting sushi on the West 10th strip!

Ordered takeout, ran in to pick it up, stood there for five minutes waiting to be served, even after the server got off her phone call she left me waiting there, I had to wave at her for her to come and talk to me? The sushi was warm and mushy, some of the flavours just didn’t mesh well together. Won’t be trying this place again.

Ordered online and went to pick it up. "No order. " When i showed the order in email, waitress started to scribble down what i ordered. Couldn't even say 'sorry'? Thank you for wasting my time and gas.

My family’s go-to take out from the 10th Ave Sushi Zone. We get one of the party trays and it suits us just fine with a good variety of items for 3-4 people. Very fresh value sushi prepared quickly and as promised.

Best Uber eats option near UBC! They always give u extra pieces of fish or tempura:) the bento box was so filling and worth the money! Totally recommend this place

I order lunch here whenever I’m craving their mentaiko udon, which is one of my favourites and would definitely recommend. Sushi is also always satisfying and staff is super nice - they’re really kind with portions. Will keep coming back!

The service in this restaurant is excellent, the food is delicious, fresh and cost effective. I eat every work day! She heard I worked next to her and it is my last day, and she gave me a free coke. Thank you!

Well the waiter said it takes 5 min but I wait there like overtime and forever so this is the one star, also no seat in ‍️ kinda disappointing

Scrumptious tempuras and sushi. The food came out quicker than I expected and the portions is quite large.

Their special combo and creative set menu are very good. Been coming here for 10 years and above average for sure.

I enjoyed the right and delicious sushi in here! This is my favourite sushi place. (My favourite menu is special bento^^)

Good service and reasonably priced. The food is usually good and they also provide take out service. Also located near the 99 bus stop. Can get crowded with limited waiting area during peak hours as tables are limited at the restaurant, especially if you require more than two seats.
