Hitoe Sushi gluten free

Probably one of the best sashimi/sushi places in Vancouver. Value for money (ranging from $30-100) and highly recommended! Great services. The Uni-Don (rice bowl) is insane!

We went for single order nigiri which is the more expensive way to have a sushi meal. Disappointed at the quality of the uni (sea urchin) - it didn’t feel it was fresh. A bit too much to pay for such quality. The Wagyu one was ok. These items may not get ordered a lot and we regretted not to go for the more popular items.

Went out of my way to go here for dinner. Wonderful dishes all around. I had the Mango California Roll and the salmon belly, both delicious. But to me, the stand out was the Miso soup. Probably the best I have ever had!

Hitoe sushi is the best gluten free sushi place in Vancouver. They have delicious sushi and gluten free soy sauce. Would always come back!

Some of the best food I've ever had in my life! We did the sashimi combo A and tried the specials (2 cuts of flounder and snapper nigiri), unagi nigiri, otoro sashimi, and salmon kama. The sashimi and nigiri were so fresh, and melted in your mouth. They also use real wasabi and it's 100 times better (and less spicier) than wasabi used with horseradish and mustard. We let them know it was my first time in Vancouver from Toronto, and the chef gifted us two of the nigiri's on the house, and our waitress was amazing:) We will be coming back here every trip to Vancouver, the quality is unmatched for the price!

Horrible quality of food. Order takeout, the rolls were all mostly rice. Not only that their sushi rice mix was weirdly sweet. Too much vinegar and sugar. Fish to rice ratio was also hilarious.

They have a gluten free menu and completely celiac safe as their chef is super knowledgeable. Everything on the gluten free menu is celiac safe, just make sure to ask which items that are not on the menu if it is gluten free and celiac safe.

We had both gluten free ramen options which were both phenomenal (the seafood ramen and the vegan ramen). Both ramen bowls used the same broth and gluten free noodles, both were light and packed with flavor. Definitely the best gluten free ramen I ever had and confident that it is celiac safe. We also had the ankimo, melty salmon nigiri, ika (squid) nigiri, and hamachi Kama (grilled yellow tail check; it was a large plate and definitely recommend rice with it).

Food was reasonably priced. Love Miso soup. Nice to actually have Japanese staff. Very polite.

So incredibly impressed with this sushi place - they have a whole menu card dedicated to all gluten free sushi! Absolutely incredible salmon & their wasabi is the authentic wasabi plant. A bit on the pricier side but worth it.

I don't say this lightly - this is the best sushi I have here in Vancouver. It is some of the best that I have ever had. My family also agrees. We lucked upon this treasure as they also do great gluten free options and EVERYTHING we have tried there has been nothing short of outstanding.

Wanted to gatekeep this treasure of a place, but this underrated restaurant deserves all the good reviews they can get! Fresh and succulent fish at a reasonable price, with delicious mains like the piping hot tempura udon to enjoy together on a cold day. The staff deserve praise on their friendly, attentive and considerate service. We dropped a pair of chopsticks and without asking for it, they have already brought a new pair for us. A cute little shop in Kitsilano, its a little tucked away but the ambience of this restaurant is a great place for dates, celebrations or even just a meal out. 10/10 recommend

Amazing diner, after 6 years finally went to try it, the food was amazing and the service was great, five stars in my option, also, the fish is the freshest in Vancouver and the portion and prices are great

Hands down, the best sushi I've ever had. The atmosphere is very intimate, the service is above and beyond.

K so the sushi is obviously fresh and tasty like me on a good hair day, but what’s up with the sauces on rolls? I’m all for being saucy but stay away from those and you’re chillin?

One of the few places in Vancouver with real wasabi! Great sushi, good quality fish. However, the Uni wasn't as fresh as other places. Also not very cheap, but that is to be expected with quality.

Dedicated glutenfree menu, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cozy place. Had a super tasty ramen!

Got take out from here like a million times, food is always immaculate.definitely the go to place for sushi if ur ever in kits.

Such deliciousness! Everything we ordered tasted amazing, and the seafood was super fresh. Sockeye salmon and scallop were literally glimmering. Sushi rice had perfect texture and seasoning.

Staff were very helpful and honest. I ordered an uni ikura unagi don, and was told by the staff that the uni wasn’t the greatest quality that particular day. The chef recommended to sub with scallops instead. Was a bit skeptical, but turned out amazing!

We’ve been back many times since. Great food every time. Highly recommend!

Just randomly happened upon this place. Had a few different rolls (BC, spicy salmon, negitoro, Alaska, dynamite) and all was very well made, fresh, with generous portion. The menu looks quite wide ranging so will absolutely be back to try others!

Delicious gluten free ramen! There was a miscommunication with my order and they gave the table free ice cream (totally didn't have too) - it was also delicious!

The staff is fabulously friendly from the moment you walk in and the salmon nigiri and rolls have all been great. I cannot ask for more.

Quality and value not bad for authentic Japanese food. Some pieces had way too much rice though to be properly enjoyed. Attentive service, decent atmosphere. Dinner for two with lots of nigiri cost $100.

The salmon rolls have improved. I used to go to hitoe just for simple salmon rolls as a budget friendly sushi fix. The rice flavor and delectable seaweed texture brought me back even when the rolls were tiny.
Today, February 21, the ROLLS were much more substantial. I hope they can afford to keep it this way because I'll definitely be back for more and am willing to try something else on the eclectic menu.
*** would like to add, having read another comment, the lady who took my order could not hear me. I think they need a new phone because they still had to correct my order when there.

Kitsilano by default is pricey. I'm not asking for a Samurai sushi level value place (they have burrito size rolls, though there's recently been a dip in sashimi portions), but something in between. Thanks Hitoe for making the change.
I'll recommend it if this is a trend.

Great sushi but service was a bit lacking today. We had to ask for water and tea and even wasabi! Didnt get refilled on wasabi. We were given such a small plate of wasabi for $80 of sushi.

Hitoe is forever a classic, let me tell you that you have not SEEN a more dollar-for-volume value meal than the uni ikura unagi don.come thru for immensely satisfying, unctuous seafood and an interior that your aunt Margaret who sells bracelets on Etsy would DIE for

Best Sushi in Kits! Price is higher than average, but I find the rolls are larger and the freshness is always there.

Overall quite decent but the quality is quite underwhelming considering the prices are higher than the best sushi I've had in Burnaby. The selection of seafood is great but the sushi rice can be better. The rice is too sour and is tightly packed into starchy ball, overwhelming the sushi. This is the first time I visited this place so I'm not sure if it's one-time mishap or it's always like this. Otherwise, I liked the service and the menu

The food was decent. Everything kinda tasted the same. The price was up there for sure though. If im in the neighborhood I would come here occassionally but it is not a place I would recommend to friends.

Great food when dining there but would not order take out again. The cashier guy on the phone cannot hear correctly. Ordered lunchbox A which he confirmed and after picking up it becomes B which is vegetarian. Then proceed to argue I ordered B in the first place. Would recommend ordering on uber eats where the order is clear, never on the phone because they cannot hear properly!

Honestly this is one of my favourite japanese restaurants that i have ever been to.

They have very traditional dishes along with the regular food that you see at other sushi restaurants.

My favorite things to order are the negitoro and the negishiso roll because their tuna is very fresh.

The service is very good and it is also a really cute restaurant.

These guys are the best! The food is great and presented well. They were super friendly and even gave us some free Hi Chews when we had to go back because we forgot our phone. 10/10 recommend!

The rainbow row is a definite must try. Aburi sushi were good, but had too much rice

Still good quality but not as good as it used to be. California rolls are mostly just rice and have hardly any crab.
