Deplorable service! I felt as though I was an inconvenience to the staff member just by walking through the door. I asked a question and the person at the front desk couldn't even be bothered to get up to help me. He just glared over his glasses and gave me a curt response. Then, moments later, another costumer asked for assistance and he was up like a shot to help. Ridiculous. I will take my business elsewhere thank you very much.

Bought tile, for upcoming bathroom reno, was told zero issue to return. Reno finishes 2 months later, no longer can i return tile unless i buy more…. Complete misdirection from the staff and return policy is a joke…. Would NOT buy from here again…. In fact it was cheaper down the street i found out after purchase

Good selection of tile, lots to look at. Prices aren't bad as well. Went during covid so staff kept their distance, but friendly all the same.

We have bought from here twice now and have been very happy with the service and experience. We reccomend HL to anyone looking for tile on a budget.

Went here just looking for tiles for a shower. They have a huge selection. Prices clearly labeled on everything. The service was fantastic. They had the best prices on tile in town. I bought everything I needed from them. Great store.

Great tile selection but the customer service the 4 times I went there from the older man that works there is awful. The attitude I get from him is that he doesn’t want to be there and is far from polite. Returning things is awful and it seemed like it was the end of the world when I didn’t bring my receipt (I assumed I was in the system). I rather spend a bit more elsewhere and deal with polite people then to do business with them again. Not impressed.

Great prices. The man working there (possibly owner) was very attentive and helpful. Decent selection. Has some new styles in.

Very shocked to read the negative review about Gord on here. We just completed our new place and we bought our backsplash from Gord. We had over the last 2 months went to the store at least 8 times looking for flooring for our kitchen, bathrooms and tub surrounds and backsplash. We only ended up buying the backsplash tile as the color tile we were looking for was not available at that time. Gord's service had always been outstanding. He always took his time with us and never made us feel rushed. He gave us tons of advice on materials with their pros and cons. He also gave us great advice as to what colors and materials went good together. Many times he sent us home with free tiles for us to lay out to see if we liked them or not. He never made us feel pressured into buying something and always told us that his goal was not that we buy from him but that we buy something we wanted and liked and that if it was not from his store he was more than ok with that as he wanted to make sure we were happy. Again excellent service and always polite and friendly. Not sure how the previous review of Gord could be accurate based on our 2 months and multiple interactions with Gord. Thank you Gord for all of your time, efforts and advice. We appreciate it very much. We wish you and yours all the best in life and health.

From day one entering the store I felt like I was being humiliated by Gord who felt I didn't know what I was doing. This was a definite learning experience but I do have an extensive trade’s background and I was more than willing to learn new things. After spending over $700 at the store I had to exchange the grout because I got the wrong colour, granted I was more than will to pay for a new bag for $16 as the store policy was no exchanges or returns which is acceptable given the instability of the grout at different humidity levels. Gord very reluctantly exchange the grout for me which he did not have to however while doing the paper work he continued to berate me about me exchanging the item and about "people" think they can come in and just think they can do whatever they want and that he didn't have to do this. I felt embarrassed for him and myself as I thought this was incredibly poor behaviour not to mention the store was busy. I picked my colour white on the colour selection chart, Gord finished the paper work and we proceeded to the back of the store. As Gord handed me the grout I had said to him that I didn't appreciate him talking to me like that. He then freaked out at me and told me to get out of the store and that if I didn't leave he was going to phone the Police. This was totally unprovoked behaviour, I feel Gord acted completely unacceptable and that he should be ashamed of himself. Do not shop here if you want good customer service. Oh and he gave me a bag Avalanche, not white!
