Owner was fantastic. My girlfriend and I were coming from a local brewery very hungry. Although the kitchen was closed he said no problem I’ll make you food. Wow the food was delicious. Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Highly recommend anyone to come here!

Went there based on excellent reviews. Was shortly after lunch on a Thursday. No one was there, saw the one staff member cleaning in the back. She told me chef was gone to get groceries and would be back in about 15 mins. Was willing to wait, asked to see the menu. Was told they didn't have three of the items on a somewhat limited menu. So left. Should have put a closed sign up or something.

Ordered pickup takeout, got confirmation of the order, got notified that the order was ready, when I showed up the restaurant wasn't open. There were a couple confused delivery drivers trying to get in too. Called the restaurant, and door dash, neither of which answered, and about 10 minutes later got a notification that the order was cancelled. This was at 5 pm on a Sunday, not like weird hours. So if you're ordering takeout, beware!

The food is always great! Lots of flavour options to hit my latest food craving! First time actually going inside. I was very comfortable and cozy very quickly. My Cocopuff drink could of helped with that! It was also delicious! I will be back, again and again

A diamond little hole in the wall. AMAZING food and drink and super friendly staff! We got the shaking beef over noodles and the sweet and spicy Korean chicken over rice absolutely delicious!
The strawberry cocktail was also very good!
We will definitely be bringing friends here in the future!

Publicité mensongère, les plats ne ressemblent pas du tout aux photos, "la viande" n'était que des morceaux de gras, il manquait les œufs pour nos 4 plats, si nous n'avions rien dit nous n'aurions pas eu de rabais.
Tout était trop gras et franchement pas bon! Je ne recommande pas du tout ce "restaurant" qui était surtout en faite un bar de quartier. Une des serveuse était sympathique mais l'autre pas du tout! Vraiment désagréable. Allez ailleurs ce serait un gain de temps et une économie de 18 dollars le plat.

Went here late on a random Wednesday night and it was so good, I'm adding it to my Vancouver must eat list. The DanDan noodles and Korean fried chicken are a must try. The noodles were SO flavourful and filling. We got the chicken 2 ways; sweet& spicy and Hanoi glazed. The chef came out and explained which pickled veggies to eat with each flavour and wow. It was so flavourful and tender, the pickled veggies complimented it beautifully, would highly recommend these two flavours. Overall good vibes, great atmosphere, cool decor. Some options to play games by a lounge area in the front too

Whatever you do, make sure you do not attend the comedy show. The host is a self proclaimed low functioning autistic - he makes you feel extremely uncomfortable, gives off very creepy vibes, and overall will give you major anxiety.

When he would come out between acts, everyone would leave to use the washroom or have a cigarette because he made you that uneasy.

The other acts were okay - but very amateur comedy. Overall I would never, ever set foot in this place again. How they have let this double denim wearing weirdo run the comedy show in a smelly back room of a pub, I will never understand.

Quite simply, you need to eat here Period

When we walked in the sign said seat yourself upstairs, so we grabbed a table across from the bar. For over 30 minutes we sat there and watched (what appeared to be) the only server continue to go to every table with white guests first, most that had arrived after us. No water, no menu, no hello. There was another POC couple that came in and sat at the bar and were not acknowledged the entire time we were there either. After 40 minutes we got up and left. While waiting outside for our Uber to another restaurant, we see a black family walk out. They had not been served either. For context, there were only 3 tables of guests when we arrived. It was around 7pm on a Thursday. On a positive, the food smelled delicious and the tables next to us said their items were tasty.

Nobody brings the flavour like Holy Chow. Bar-none this is a MUST visit spot for Vancouver foodies. The bowls, the chicken, the dumplings, everything is amazing here and the sauces here get the last word in any conversation about delicious. The head chef / owner is an awesome guy and you will absolutely plan a return visit.

I went here tonight with my boyfriend for my first time visiting Vancouver and it was amazing! We shared pork dumplings and sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken. I also had Szechuan spicy beef & he had the Szechuan spicy chicken and mannnn everything was on POINT, the server was really awesome as well! In addition we got to see a really cool comedy show. Definitely made a great first impression.

The guy in charge was fantastic - great conversation and fun to be around. The food was delicious, prices were good, ambiance was chill and low-key. Solid drinks and taplist, music was on point.

We had the vegetarian dan dan men and sesame noodles which were just the right thing for us on a rainy vancouver evening after a bike ride. Definitely would recommend, especially for vegetarians/vegans.

Another reviewer said: "Came in between lunch and dinner time and the place was mostly empty and the whole place seemed to being run by one guy. " This would possibly explain why I visited at 1pm one day and couldn't enter the restaurant. Maybe that one guy was on a washroom break.

I love the food here, though the veg dumplings aren't as good as you'd hope. I've only dined in once and the silver haired server was weirdly terrible. Super nice but totally out of it and presumably disinterested? It was like he was ignoring us even when he was standing at our table.

I really wanted to like this place but I received uncooked "braised beef" dumplings from them. They ended up just having raw ground beef inside. Disappointing to say the least. Aside from that, noodle bowls were pretty flavorless.

I ordered the Szechuan beef noodles. The beef was alright, super spicy and flavourful but the noodles had NO sauce or flavour at all… making the dish super dry, bland, and just spicy. I couldn’t finish the food.

Food was delicious (particularly the pork shoulder rice bowl and the korean fried chicken), and the chef was super nice.

Would suggest the owner invests in a sandwich board or a very obvious open sign because it looked closed when we got there and we saw some people get to the door and turn away.

Dive bar feel with awesome food! Had 2 different areas with live music while I was there. Def worth checking out if you want to experience something new.

Chef Issac was the best! Great food bursting with flavours. The spicy Szechuan potatoes ought to replace ketchup and fries as the world’s default-side.

The noodles at Holy Chow are delicious, and the dumplings are filled with flavor. The customer service was friendly, but the service was slow. There were no waitstaff when we dined in, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, the food was tasty and the experience was good.

Took a chance coming here looking for food in the area and it was a great choice. We got the szechuan beef and chicken noodle bowl as well as some beef dumplings and they were incredible, sauce was delicious meat was cooked perfectly. The guy who said he fills in for the owner on sundays was very fun to talk to (sorry I forgot to get your name). I would visit again in a heartbeat next time im in town!

An amazing place to grab a bite! Been visiting vancouver for the week and we stumbled across this place on our last day, amazing service from “the guy who fills in for the owner on weekends” (i didn’t catch his name)! The food was fantastic, despite it being in a not so great area the experience was great & we will definitely be coming back the next time we visit!

Absolute hidden gem in Vancouver. Amazing dumplings and the fried chicken is super crispy and tender and comes with really yummy sauces. Dan Dan noodle bowls are delicious and seasoned incredibly well. I have come back many times and am never disappointed here!

A great spot for some Asian fusion bowls! For example, I had the Korean fried chicken bowl - but along with the typical soy garlic, you get an option for sweet & spicy or a tangy fish sauce glaze. I went for tangy fish sauce and loved how unique it was. Plus of course the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Service was great too. Definitely a fun eating experience.

Excellent food, good beer selection, high quality cocktails. I’m not going to bother going to any other places for food since I’m only here for three days and I won’t get to try all the things on the menu I want to try as it is. And the staff are all great.

I ordered the Szechuan Spicy Beef noodle bowl, and it was great. Their menu has a variety of Asian dishes to choose from. If you're looking for something authentic, this wouldn't be the place (i.e. The noodles were spaghetti noodles). However, this is an "Asian fusion" restaurant so they get points for their creativity and execution. Would recommend!

First night in Vancouver and ordered the spicy chicken noodles, might be the highlight of the trip.

Ordered ramen noodles with pork. There wasn’t any broth and the pork was not cooked all the way, which I found out half way through my meal. Ended up getting food poisoning.

Wish I could keep this a secret but I want them to get as much business as they can. Super delicious and healthy hidden gem. Really really good hot sauce and juicy dumplings.

I'm sorry but the dan dan noodles with pork and XO sauce that I ordered today was way too salty. I love XO sauce but it's pretty powerful stuff and should be used sparingly. Every time I took a bite I felt like I was having a spoonful of salt. I couldn't finish my lunch.

I ordered on Uber eats. There was a bite taken out of the egg in the beef bowl. Really gross. It wasn't the driver, because the paper bag was stapled shut. Straight into the bin

Pretty expensive for a Dan Dan noodle $18. Nothing special about it either. I don't see how this place has such high reviews

Holy cow holy chow is good! Such an unexpected find in the city. The quality of the food is top tier, everything in the meal was incredibly fresh. The restaurant itself has a very cool and chill vibe, great spot for a candid photo op. My favourite part of the experience was the service; kind, honest, very pleasant overall

Just tried this restaurant out for the first time and damn, what a great decision it was to eat here. Incredible food. Can't wait to try the entire menu! 10/10

Amazing noodles! Their food is so good that I've had it every couples days on my trip to Vancouver

We ordered 2 orders of lemon grass chicken noodles. We both got food poisoning and took turns in the bathroom all night.

The food here is sort of Asian fusion, street food-type style. We had the dumplings, the vegetarian Dan Dan noodle bowl, and the fried chicken. All were excellent, especially the noodle bowl. I really enjoyed how the bowl was full of vegetables, and not just as many noodles as possible. We ordered for take-out, and service was quick and friendly. I took off one star because we both found the dumplings and fried chicken were exceptionally spicy. I'd expect this level of spicy in the "spicy" version, not the regular version. If you're not a fan of too much spice, I'd recommend mentioning that you want less spice.

The reviews don't lie this place is a hidden gem of Vancouver.

I had the Dan Dan noodles with ginger chicken and after my first bite all I noticed was this amazing flavor in my mouth, the food and sauce made my taste buds come alive.

The food was fresh and made to order you could tell it just came out of the wok.

The chicken curry with jasmine rice was also fresh and very tasty and the curry was not spicy but lots of flavor.

I will warn you though that homeless people seem to congregate outside but they never acknowledged me while walking past into the front door.

The staff are very friendly and their in house hot sauce won't disappoint its very intense and perfect for any chilli head.

Yummy! Tried a few different dishes and all were delicious. Flavorful sauces and good portions.

Order takeout through Uber Eats! Loved their take on dan dan noodles bowls and dumplings were yummy, even with the time delay with takeout. Only thing holding this back from a 5 star was the noodles. They were good but if they were handmade they would be way better!

Generous portion and they give you 2 eggs instead of one! I got the pork Dan Dan noodles and dumplings for $15 including delivery and tip as it was 40% off. The link for the promotion is in my bio.

I will definitely be ordering again as its already worth original price! The sauce and may for the noodles are a bit on the salty side so I would mix it with rice when done with the noodles.

You have got to eat here! Excellent food. My wife and three kids ages 7,9 & 10 all loved it!
If you like spice, order the hot sauce- it is a fantastic compliment to their Spicy Pork Bowl!

What an Amazing spot! You can tell they take pride in their customer service. Also, they are nut free, which makes my life a whole lot easier! Everything I have ever ordered from here is just popping off with flavor. The tea smoked egg.a revelation! They have quickly become one of my go to spots for food. If you haven't yet, you need to try this place out ASAP!

Ordered this meal online. The portion size was just perfect, and the taste was good. The price was a bit more than similar foods, but totally worth the taste.

Super impressed with this relatively new spot in Chinatown — the Lemongrass Chicken Rice Bowl I ordered was delicious and travelled really well, and I love that you can order frozen dumplings to make on your own. Highly recommend ordering for delivery, will definitely try again!

So delicious, can't go past this place any time I am not up for making dinner. Tastes quality and fresh, always packed well. Big fan!
