The place is good, at the beginning the lady at front had a strange and bad attitude, later our waitress was better and nice, i order to start a clam chowder that was bland, them i ordered a schnitzel parmesan that was tasty and big, my husband ordered braided beef short rib and the mest was hard and not really good but the smashed potato where fine, then we ordered dessert, one apple pie and the best choice was the cheese cake, the coffee was ok but a bit bitter, in general we spent 74 cad for all this food which i think was really good price because portions where big, they have free parking and clean restrooms.

Great diner in Hope. The quality and quantity of food for breakfast was good value considering where dining prices have gone lately. Server suggested adding onions to the shredded potatoes. Great choice. Took home some pie.

Friendly humans with big portions of yummy food! The Benedict Omelette and cherry pie with ice cream yum!

Best breakfast anywhere and the lunch is to die for. Can't say enough about this place. (awsome)

Probably the best truly home sytle breakfast i have had since.i dunno, home long ago? I was great and o my the pies. Took a slice of coconut cream for a road snack. To full after breakfast for desert. I was delightful! Forget the chains, support local and delightful.
Update dec23/23 still a dam fine breakfast 3 of us had the classic yummy eggs benny. The waitresses here are working there fannys off its a busy place.

I love everything about The Home Restaurant! During my summer out west we ate at this location multiple times and it was a great experience everytime! The staff, the food, and the cheesecake are all amazing. I can’t wait to go back!

Cute little diner with hearty foods that taste better than they do at other restaurants. The turkey dinner and schnitzel are fantastic!

Visiting from out of town- ordered for pickup and waited 15 minutes upon arriving. Two parties waiting ahead of me. Staff could not have looked more miserable to be there.

Finally gave my name to pickup our food, paid, and found out the order wasn’t put into the kitchen and would be another long wait. Asked for a refund and waited for the waitress to try figure out how to complete the refund.

Definitely won’t go back.

Cook should taste the food before presenting to the public.hamburger tasted awful.the vegetables soggy and not cooked.mentioned to the waitress and got a 50% discount.thanks for that.must say it was our favorite restaurant once.

Stopped in for dinner and it was good as always. Good portions, selection and prices are reasonable.

Really good and filling food. The pies are awesome. Not sure if the Mushroom Mountain Burger is still made here, but it's sure something if you love mushrooms. Great pit stop before heading out on a journey.

Empty tables not cleared, 1/2 hour wait to get seated, another 10 minute wait to get a coffee, 20 more minutes to place an order with a server, order never arrived, left without getting food. Might as well shut it down with this type of treatment of customers.

Great service with a smile. Comfort food like grandma used to make. And the best deserts! Pies and Pies and Pies! So yummy!

I give this two stars based on their poor customer service and disorganization. One extra star, as I've had a good experience previously, but it seems to have gone downhill in recent years. When we arrived there was a line, as usual. We expected this and put our names down. We were told it would be 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we went in to get an update on our table and they advised that it would be another 30 minutes. There was no apology, just stated in a matter of fact manner. And during all this time they had been seating other parties as they showed up. I can't speak to the quality of food as we never got the opportunity to sit down. Poor service for what was once a good restaurant. We ended up going down the street to triple O's, which quite frankly, probably has similar quality food anyways. If you're passing through Hope, I suggest eating somewhere else.
