Hong Kong Flavor Restaurant (港鋒味餐廳)

I went there a few times and the food was good. The waiters I met twice had bad attitudes.

I really wanted to like this place, but where to start? I placed an order for pick up. The lady handed it to me all wrapped in a plastic bag. The order contained a hot milk tea, with a lid with a hole, and of course it spilled EVERYWHERE. How could they place it in the same bag without warning? Ruined all the other dishes, as the togo containers had steam holes and everything tasted like milk tea, including my car carpet. To add insult to injury, they forgot the Garlic Toast in the order. Then I took a bite of my Borsht soup and there was a hair in it. Disappointing experience to say the least.

Great, authentic, delicious and classic Hong Kong breakfast food. Service was friendly even if you don’t speak Cantonese. Ample free parking. Prices are amazing especially nowadays, cash or debit only though. Wish I lived closer so I could come more often

I seldom write reviews because I believe restaurants food and service quality may vary due to many reasons. That's why usually I'm very cautious about writing reviews especially negative ones. After being given second chances at this so called hong kong style restaurant, I can conclude that this is the worst restaurant ever seen in the lower mainland.

The main problem is that all waitresses have a weird mindset that their food is a kind of alms. They thought people entering their restaurant were begging for food, but indeed you have to tip for their 'act' (not service) afterall. This is the reason nobody will want to come again no matter what quality their products, need not to say it is far from outstanding.

I won't come again, just like all my friends sworn, unless those waitresses were get rid of.

Went this morning and had the chicken steak with waffle. Quite a lot of chicken but waffle was small cold hard. Friends had noodles, dumplings, fish. Good fish but paper thin. Dumplings tasty

Tucked away in the corner of an older strip mall it’s easy to miss this place. I live in the neighbourhood and I have only recently discovered it. Easy to miss but once you enter it is quite spacious and very clean. Service is typical no fuss HK diner quick and the food was came fast and hot.

Revisited after 3 yrs (Covid). People are still very friendly and nice, missed their HK Style Borscht and Cream Soups and happy to report that they are all as good!

Their Curry Beef is a hit, so if you like HK Style Curries, this is the place in Richmond!

Good steady HK cafe restaurant. Greeters and servers were polite and made sure wait time wasn’t too long. Good tasted good. Set meals come with both soup and drink. Recommend it to everyone.

Food tasted okay it wasnt anything exceptional in my opinion. Its a hk cafe with lots of options of food to try. As you can see from the photos, there were plenty of options to try. But when i was there a lot of options were not available somehow. Tried some sets and most of them were bland and just okay.

Would recommend for people looking for decent Hong Kong style casual meal. The staff team is young, helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable compared to similar eateries in Richmond.

We’re SF Bay Area natives, and we’re a little spoiled by the foodie culture in San Francisco. So far we’ve been impressed with all the delicious food we’ve found here in Vancouver. Hong Kong Flavor Restaurant is like happily and unexpectedly stumbling upon a little diamond. All of this yumminess could have been packaged up in a high-end Chinese restaurant and instead, we get it in a cozy low key cafe. We indexed high on the seafood, which greatly exceeded our expectations. I liked the creativity in the Hainan chicken with truffle oil so if you like truffle-y things, it’s worth checking out. If you’re looking for a quick, hearty meal, the spaghetti is next-level delicious. My kids generally don’t like Chinese food and they said “this is a 10 out of 10! ”

We waited about 10min for our table, the waitresses were courteous n do their job well, fast service n good food n was priced reasonably, my lunch came with a free coffee! Each party get their own booth, quite spacious for a small restaurant.

Do take out a lot. Like to take their porridges and tomato baked pork chop rice. Especially like to have breakfast in person here to enjoy their milk tea!

If you like the HK style cafe atmosphere and you don't mind the surrounding conversations, this is the place for you. Food is always good but it's gotten expensive.

Accepts only cash and debit. Not credit card friendly for American tourists. USD/CAD is one to one here. Not nice. Food is so so. The 菠蘿油 is big but not hot enough so it tastes dry. Spaghetti is also dry. Soup noodles are ok. Prices are reasonable

The sweet and sour chicken was good but the green beans and beef had a sour taste. Not sure what it was but it wasn't bad just not what I am used to.

Bad service and they mistreated us for not understanding and speaking Chinese. They didn't come to our table once we had to keep calling them and then when we paid the bill, they charged us extra for coke, and the worker started swearing in Chinese. Don't recommend also food was bland.

Just an overpriced Hong Kong style cafe/tea restaurant. Went there for the atmosphere, not the food. Or coffee. Or milk tea Or the coffee mixed with milk tea.

Food choice is relatively limited, been ignored several times, poor service, food quality is not good.

I waited 20 minutes to be seated when there were only a few tables filled. I asked if I could get a booth and the staff very rudely told me that I could only get the table they gave me. They ignored me when I asked them why so I just left. There's no way that every single one of their booths were reserved when they were all empty.

I think this is the best Hong Kong style cafe in Richmond so far! Yes the service is slow but the food always comes out fantastic. The fact that they don't charge extra for their french toast (breakfast combo) is a real delight and I hope they don't change that in the future. Their breakfast combos are super affordable and can be split between two people ($15 for 2 people) Their afternoon tea menu is also good. I saw many people get the puff pastry mushroom soup and chicken wings w fries but I haven't personally tried.

Baked spaghetti not much cheese. Tomatoes sauce taste like Campbell's tomatoes soup when I was a kid

Not bad service, when I ordered a tomato soup I was really salty and bitter the black pepper sauce was not even spicy is tasted normal the chocolate wasn’t mixed up enough my brother had to wait for his food for 25 minutes and we were all done the rice was sticky and the price was rip off we paid $173.25 for 3 diners and the bun was free it basically tasted bland and dry the inside tasted like nothing

Manager is extremely friendly and courteous. The lady servers have a bit of an attitude. Not sure is it because they don't have enough staff. Everyone is running around to serve all the customers in a timely manner.

Be aware of the lack of menu (because it was a full house and there wasn't enough menus to go around), lack of servers to take orders/clean up, and long wait time for food.

Food wise, they're good but too oily and salty. Given how health conscious consumers are nowadays and how majority of restaurants are adjusting their menu to a healthier cooking style - I'm surprise to see how greasy the food is.

I hope they get more staff soon to catch up with the popularity and amount of orders!

I had read some mixed reviews on this new Hong Kong style restaurant so I tried to keep an open mind about it. From the reviews, I expected to wait a while and boy was I right. We put our name down on the whiteboard in front and sat down waiting to be called. After around 15 minutes we were seated which is not bad. Honestly though I saw a lot of empty tables that were not occupied, but they just didn't have enough time to seat people. They tend to seat people in bunches instead of when tables become free so the turnover isn't fast enough. We ordered the baked spaghetti Bolognese (a staple we always order) and flavour wise it was heavy on the ketchup but lacked quantity. At most HK style restaurants you expect it to be piled high with noodles and covered in sauce. The house sandwich was average. There was a bit too much lettuce to my liking but a good amount of bacon. If it had a little more sauce it would have been better. The French fries were like every other HK style restaurants French fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The French toast was surprisingly good. It was crisp on the outside but not too oily. The inside was fluffy and went well with the butter and syrup. The milk tea was not great. It lacked tea flavour and had too much milk in it. Very unfortunate. The lemon tea tasted like Nestea. We were overall pretty satisfied up to this point, but we were still missing one dish and it was the noodles with XO sauce. We asked about our order twice and were told they would check on it. Finally they gave us an explanation that there was only one Chinese chef for all the Chinese food orders so they were slightly backed up. When it came out it was piping hot, really flavourful and probably one of the better dishes of the day. My advice, if you have time to wait try some of the Chinese dishes, if not order the western influenced dishes. The overall atmosphere was not bad. Very clean because it's still very new and the service was pretty good even though slightly delayed. Be prepared to wait if you are coming here.

Waited too long to get seated even when the restaurant was half empty. Super slow service. Took them a long time to get us a menu and then to order. Then food came out like 30 mins later. This place is a waste of time and energy.

A comfortable, unpretentious restaurant that was busy from the time we arrived until our departure. We highly enjoyed two vegetarian dishes (one with an amazing curry sauce) but the menu is heavily weighted to non-veg selections. Regardless, we will visit again.

More than 3/4 of the restaurant is waiting for food in their table. Customer service is horrendous. Would not return since we are waiting for our food for around 30 min now and still waiting. A server just walked by and ignored a customer complaining about the food wait.

They have all day breakfast menu really affordable so the portions aren't huge but one shouldnt be eating that much anyways, really fun renovations! Decent price for food!

I discovered this place when I went to order tinos pizza one night (right beside, super legit btw) When I saw the line up outside, I thought damn. This place must be lit. So we came back few days later to check it out. We stood 10 min in line, got a table, ordered our food and waited. And waited. And waited. The waitresses forgot our drinks and soup until we asked for it. We didn't get it till 45 minutes after our order. The rest of our meal came 20 min later. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good but definitely not worth the wait. Don't fall for the hype like I did. Just cause there's a huge line up outside doesn't mean it's good. Their service is just incredibly slow.

Pricy for what you get, especially at breakfast and afternoon tea time. However, food quality is good, milk tea is yummy, and staff (especially the main manager) are nice. Expect a bit of a wait and also expect to pay about $1-2 more for comparable food that you might get elsewhere, though this is forgiveable as there is no similar restaurant nearby. Also don't expect any large portions here, which for me is fine since I don't eat much anyways.

This restaurant is slow on service and the food is extremely greasing. I’m pretty sure the waitresses double dip all the food in a big tub of oil before they bring it out from the kitchen to ensure maximum oil umami. Iced coffee tasted recycled.

I understand you guys just opened, but please leave so we can get something else. Even a second post office would be better than this.

Average quality, quite Hongkong style. You cannot expect extraordinary here, but safely get something eatable. Beware it's new, so the time to deliver your dish may not be as fast as you expected. Hope that will pick up soon. Spend some time in the afternoon isn't a bad idea. Worth to mention, the services here is excellent. "Add Oil"
