Hopewell Chinese Kitchen (永合隆燒臘)

I came in to order 1/2lb of roast pork. They suggested it’s better to order 1lb since too small of an order. After I paid, i noticed the cost was $22. I inquire why it was that much since 1lb is $1495. They told me they just round it of by adding more than a pound. I was real upset that there was a $7 difference. Still they insisted that they informed me that they can’t give me the exact cut of 1lb. I told them I understand but a half a pound ($7) difference is way off. I felt they are just trying to sell as much as they can to profit. I will never go there again and I will never encourage anyone. Bunch of cheats!

I came here for the second time to get BBQ pork to bring to a friend in Victoria. What a disappointment! This time the meat was tougher meaning a different part of the pig. My fault for not buying a small piece to eat before buying. I thought about getting a soy chicken but not for $30 as it was small.

Beware of the portion you request as they add more than you asked for. They’re going cheap with the quality of meat and with the containers. They wanted to put the meat in a plastic bag! Seriously! Note it’s a cash only place.

We won’t be going back. They’re located on the second level where T&T is located off First Ave.

The service attitude of the staff in this shop is very poor. Despite the fact that the roast meat shop next door and the restaurant are owned by the same boss, I experienced repeated harassment and extremely rude behavior from the waitress after purchasing braised dishes and already ordering clay pot rice from the restaurant. The taste of the dishes is also not very good. The rice in the clay pot rice is too hard, and the spare ribs are not tasty. I will never go there again. Please be aware and avoid this place.

Fried Chicken and Barbecued Pork Rice, not a single piece of barbecued pork is normal, it’s all fatty meat. This is how the business is going to die. I used to see queues in the store, but now there are very few customers. This store is getting worse and worse. The barbecue in Vancouver Your family can move up from the bottom of the Ladian rankings.

Tried coming here this morning right as they opened. Told them I wanted a bbq pork and roast pork on rice with no ginger in both of them. They said ok then proceeded to put the ginger all over the rice… so I told them to scoop it out and give me a new rice. Then I noticed there was some old meat sitting on the side and while one woman was talking to me the old man decided to sneak that in instead of giving me the meat that was hanging… this place has been hit and miss but u always gotta watch them cut the meat as you will get old meat if u are not paying attention…Had to drive to crystal mall to get some much better bbq meats from delicious bbq.

When the chopper chop your roast pork into big piece and it is barley eatable! The piece of pork is even big than my mouth.
What's the rush uncle? Do you want me to choke to death with your pork?
