Hotel Fairmont Vancouver Airport

Stay here after my trip in middle east, as usual, feel like home again. Room so clean, staff all friendly and as soon I enter the Room, I have bowl of fruit waiting for me. I will always recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back again.

Slept so comfortably, I almost missed my connecting flight! Felt so relaxed and ready for my next trip.

Pros: Super convenient for long layovers and very close to boarding gates. Nice bed, good soundproofing, pleasant shower (no bathtub in my $670 room, though), wonderful system of light controls. Friendly staff. Tasteful styling (same Fairmont vibe but not as modern as the newer hotels). Great concept for toiletries in environmentally friendly fixed packaging (no tiny cardboard boxes or plastic sachets).

Cons: No complimentary bottled water, no slippers, no toothpaste, no welcome chocolate, no bluetooth connection for gadgets, no bidet for making ablutions, no compass to show the direction of Mecca. Wine selection was just so-so but then again, I have really lowered my expectations for Canadian hotels so don't expect the same fancy little details like in super luxury hotels in the Middle East or Asia.

Overall, if you want to sleep and get ready for a long flight, you can't go wrong if you stay at the Fairmont.

One of my favorite Fairmonts! Comfortable, luxurious, view of the slopes, pool. The best airport hotel you will find!

Convenient if you are flying out of YVR. Fairmont Gold is a great option. Typical rooms for Fairmont which is why we stay at them - comfortable and great amenities.

If you have an early flight, stay here!

This is a lovely, quiet, comfortable hotel that could not be more conveniently located! We’re so fortunate to have such a nice place to stay right in the YVR terminal. The bar is also spacious, lively and has a nice view out it’s huge windows. The staff is helpful, calm, friendly. Great experience!

The location is good, the interior is elegant and noble, and all the accessories are from the popular New York brand LE LOBO.

Oh wow, brilliant! I didn't have a chance to try facilities in the hotel other than restaurant (which is amazing) but the room! I was really impressed. You normally don't get anything like that by far when staying at airport hotel! Exquisite!

Just share my experience in this beautiful hotel, upon check in today July 7,2023, I like to thank the woman who I can't remember her name wearing hijab, as soon as I step in, in the counter she remember me cause I stay here many time, so bad in my side that I'm forgetting her name, but I always remember how sweet and friendly she is. And thanks to Brian in Globe Restaurant for always checking us if we're okay.

They forgot our breakfasts.

Noisy cheap build hotel as soon as a door opens on another suite the doors slam shut on their own. Waking everyone.

This place is an oasis in the airport after missing your late night flight. Nice rooms. A hopping lounge that even had live music entertainer (and was enjoyable to listen to)

Special mention to the server in the restaurant Oxanna I believe was her name super Conscientious and helpful along with the best bellman we've ever run across Steven. All in all a perfect start to a Caribbean Vacation.

Excellent hotel directly at the airport with short distances to the terminal. Booked gold status when I booked and it was excellent. Nice service, own check-in and a great restaurant with a good view.
Looking forward to the next visit.

After 20 hours of travel the Fairmont was a welcome refuge. The staff were very attentive, super helpful and made my stay memorable. Thank you!

Beautifully presented luxury rooms, friendly professional staff and unbelievably convenient location. Just a caution for Brits, the pancakes served at breakfast are a very large portion!

Great stay before our early morning flight. The Fairmont bed is super comfy. Festive decorations to welcome you and the lobby bar with live music make a great hang out for a night cap!

Great hotel, just got back from a staycation with the wife. We upgraded to the Gold floor this time and the service was outstanding. If you haven't experienced a Fairmont Gold floor it is absolutely worth a try once. The concierges on the Gold floor were very nice just as the wonderful staff at the front desk.
HOWEVER keep away from the restaurant in the hotel. We had the worst experience at the Globe, the service was good but the food was absolutely atrocious. We ordered the Sable fish and the steak. The fish it self was bland, the steak was hands down the worst it have had. The mashed potatoes that came along with the steak were extremely grainy and almost tasted like cauliflower mash instead of mashed potatoes.

Mia checked us in at the end of a long day of travel, after 3 planes ️ Mia was friendly, caring and the customer service was exceptional. The room was very well appointed, and the bathtub was so long and deep we could completely stretch out after sitting for hours. Thank you for the wonderful stay

HUGE shout out to Pamela at the front desk! This was the most wonderful greeting my family and I have ever received from anyone at a hotel. Pamela did everything she could to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Service and kindness like this is very hard to find these days and I wanted to acknowledge that!

Would give 4.5 if I could. Welcoming friendly staff, absolutely beautiful place, common areas and our room were stunning. Given 25$ food voucher which was nice but food was outrageously priced which felt like it was negated. $7 for regular coffee and $20 for pancakes but the food itself was out of this world! So incredible! The view from our breakfast table was breathtaking watching the sun rise over the mountains. Our server Ben was excellent! Super friendly and attentive!

Friendly staff, always trying to accommodate even the most challenging customers. Easy access through the connected terminal, or from curbside when arriving by car. Large, clean rooms, excellent spa!

I always have a perfect stay at a Fairmont, particularly enjoyed this stay! If I was more wealthy this would be the only brand of hotel I would choose for every stay! Amazing customer service, delicious food, very clean and the most amazing beds <3

Room was excellent. Dining - dinner just as good as last visit, good wine selection, breakfast just as good as last visit. Staff were extremely peasant and accommodating. Will visit again when I return to Vancouver.

Fantastic Staff and excellent facilities. Treat yourself to a dining experience in he lounge, or even rent bikes and get out there.

Room was clean and spacious - had a nice welcoming from the clerk. Really easy to go from there to your gate at the airport. Would recommend.

So lucky to have stayed here for my mandatory hotel stay after traveling for work. Everything was clean and safe - and the food was amazing! Thank you for making my quarantine as great as possible.

$100 for a subpar, tiny-portioned meal and the rooms are not even close to soundproof. I had the lovely pleasure of listening to my adjacent guests use the lavatories frequently before a 5am flight. There are 20 hotels within 15 minutes with way better food, rooms and service for half the price.

All of the staff was professional and the food breakfast lunch and dinner is excellent

They did not deliver a food to my cousin who did not eat anything since she left india. They said food will be delivered around 5 pm, she didn’t get anything. Very poor service for renowned hotel. And we paid $1800 for 3 days stay for her. So unprofessional. And reception didn’t say sorry

This hotel do not accommodate those who have mask medical exemptions, they say they are following the rules of the government for safety, even the government says to accommodate those with mask exemptions. Their only accommodation was to wear a face
shield, like that's any difference. So pathetic, I stayed here a few time, and loved it, but will never again, it's discrimination.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. They took COVID protocols seriously. Rooms were clean and sanitized. Everything was great. Food was delicious. Thank you Fairmont.

Afternoon tea at the Globe was just as good as prepandemic. Maybe even more special as we are so grateful to be able to still enjoy this lovely experience. The venue is large, with enormous windows, overlooking the airport & mountains to the north.
This was my fourth time. Each time the service and food are impeccable. Yesterday was my son’s 10th birthday. He had heard about this fancy tea and being a little foodie, (not picky) had always wanted to try but it’s a bit pricey if your kids don’t love things like tea, smoked salmon and caviar lol. However, the quality of the desserts is undeniably irresistible I’m sure even for the picky.
And I disagree with the one reviewer who thought the food was not fresh. Everything was fresh and made w discerning attention to detail!
The tables are nicely distanced and for such a large space, there are many nooks with semi private sitting areas that make you feel as if you were in someone’s living room. Lots of light and high ceilings, giant fireplaces are really homey. A really beautiful way to pass several leisurely hours!
The servers take the time to notice what your preferences are.we didn’t ask for any extra birthday things because there were so many delectable sweets there to enjoy.but one lovely lady paid attention to how much we enjoyed the salted caramel macarons (as good as Paris! My family said) and brought my son a couple of boxes to take home.

My favorite hotel in the area, very relaxing stay the day before my flight. This hotel is situated within the airport departure terminal. Pricy but no choice.

We ordered the Groupon for the Afternoon Tea for Two for about $70. It was my first time doing an afternoon tea. We got to each choose a flavour of tea and we were promptly served a small starter which was a mushroom arancini with pomodoro sauce. On the tiered platter we had each a butter scone and maple brown sugar scone which came with a delicious jam and clotted cream. Our mini, bite-sized sandwiches were a truffle egg sandwich, cucumber sandwich, smoked salmon sandwich, and chicken salad sandwich. For the sweets, we had macarons, pumpkin cake (which was pretty dry), walnut butterscotch tart, and and an apple cinnamon crumble. Overall, it was a nice experience being able to sit by the window and watch the airplanes through the tall windows all while sharing tea and some light snacks.

Very convenient but pricey. Staff are great and very attentive. Had to climb under the sink and fix bathroom sink plug which was a bit of a surprise. For a four star hotel one would expect that they would check to make sure all the fixtures work properly when they clean them. It was clearly not a new problem as it was caused by a striped screw. Would normally have called the front desk to fix it but with COVID the last thing I wanted was someone in the room repairing the sink plug. Tea and coffee in the room was very limited as were the condiments, not enough for two people.

I find this hotel, clean, comfortable and pleasant. The fact of being at the airport, makes it convenient if you have to catch a plane early in the morning. The staff are very friendly and I didn't order room service; yet, the facilities and services are great, and therefore, highly recommended.

I stayed at Fairmont hotel for 3 day.it was Full of joy and pleasant. The view was great. Staffs were polite, patient and kind. Dishes were delicious with acceptable price.
It will be my first choice if I need Accommodation in Vancouver again.

Came here for afternoon tea. Used a groupon which was a great deal and was so worth it. Friendly staff, great view of the planes even if it’s covid and no ones really flying but back to the tea. The provided 3 layer tray of deliciousness was perfect. So many delicious little treats. The scones with clotted cream with a dream. The mini sandwiches were a hit with my hubs and I loved the mini desserts. A wonderful experience. But make sure you have the groupon. Without it, it’s pricy.

The most convenient thing about this place is you dont have to step out of the airport. Perfect if you have next day connection.

Nice place to stay, bedrooms are cool, pretty close to Sky train around 5 min walking. Restaurant expensive, nice fitness center.

Today morning, I approach to front desk to get bandaid for my uncle and the gentleman who work at the front dest gave me band aid. The front desk agent knew that I don’t even stay at the Fairmont. I strongly recommend this hotel. Good employee

Just book now. The Fairmont YVR is exceptional - and not to be missed! From common areas to rooms to the restaurant, management has created a cohesive atmosphere that is refined but natural, spacious but cozy, and peaceful but spirited. We booked our room in advance by phone then checked in in-person; we also ordered room service and had afternoon tea at the Globe. Every team member we encountered offered consistent, high-level service that was genuinely friendly and personalized. We were celebrating an anniversary, so it was a treat to receive congratulations and goodwill from many staff. We enjoyed a luxurious room, a spectacular view, amazing customer service, well-presented food with high-quality ingredients, and an incredibly quiet and comfortable sleep.
This hotel strictly adheres to public health orders and protocols for hygiene. Not once did we have any concern about sanitation or safety.
The Fairmont YVR offers outstanding value in a unique and vibrant location. Without hesitation, we recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon! Thank you to each Fairmont YVR team member for a very relaxing and memorable stay!

Always a treat to come here and see the terminals, planes, and Christmas decor when in season. Also they are mindful of your dietary restrictions when you give them the heads up.

I can honestly say i have never had anything less then an outstanding stay and experience at a Fairmont property. And Fairmont YVR is no exception. Great service, great food very nice room. Beyond my expectations for an airport hotel. Will stay again! No question

Driving up I was a little worried as I pulled into the departure terminal. Once we figured out that the hotel was in the airport terminal we were relieved.
The staff was very friendly, and patient with us. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Parking was a bit difficult to figure out. In the end we went with the valet parking, it was $20 more, but worth it.
The exercise room was better equipped than most hotel's. With free weights, bar rack, bench, incline bench, and plenty of room for stretching. Pool area looked very nice. We only got to stay one night, so did not get to utilize either gym, pool or spa located at the hotel.
Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. The view from our room was unique. We were right over the terminal. We enjoyed watching the planes take off and land.
We will be back to Vancouver and will be staying at the Fairmont again.

Omg freezing night. Had the maintenance in twice re freezing tenpurRure in room. Thermostat not working as soon as it heated up and turned heat down ac went on. Engineers brought in electric room heater and that didn’t work. Freezing night on a layover and didn’t sleep at all. Worst night in Vancouver ever!

A bit pricey, but the convenience and quality of the rooms is worth it. Very nice line of shampoos and bath products provided in the rooms. Super neat to watch the planes take off at night, and suprising well soundproofed.

Myself and my wife highly reccomend this hotel for the location, the rooms and the service is the best you will ever get at any hotel.

Beautiful hotel. So very convenient as we had an overnight stay for our departure and arrival. Upon return to Vancouver we arrived at midnight. There was a hotel rep at bottom of stairs up to hotel who checked us in. All so very convenient and organized. Beautiful room. Room service available upon our late arrival. Staff very friendly a nd knowledgable. Would definitely return

Convenient location inside the airport. Friendly staff though welcome was lacking. Need to offer breakfast options in their restaurant for early morning travelers. Room service is not always preferred. I like to stay here when in Vancouver for holiday or business.

From the airport luggage carousel I called to book a room. (Our flight to Whitehorse couldn't land so we returned to Vancouver.) The reservations clerk found us a good room rate and we walked over to the hotel. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and they were so very helpful with suggestions for our short stay. We were in time to have a wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant - highly recommend the sable fish entree. All of the dining room staff were very attentive. What a wonderful end to a very trying day. And in the morning, the hotel's golf cart took us to the baggage drop off for our flight. Many thanks.

We made a NY brunch reservation thinking it was at YVR.wrong we were supposed to be in the city.the guys at the YVR restaurant were incredibly kind offering free parking so we could take the train and go the city.they called the restaurant and left them a msg about us being late and gave us a special offer to come for tea at YVR. Amazing staff (Steven & Damon?)! Made our day and rescued my hubbies bday brunch!

The drop-in pass for a workout and swim is a great deal. I wish more airports had this. That being said, the pool needs a renovation. It's too small, and a bit dirty/dingy.

We've had several stays here over this year, and even though we are Marriott loyalists, being able to sleep more before a flight trumps the rewards points. So here's the breakdown:

The room: Ask for a room on the side where the planes take off and land. I'm a sensitive sleeper and I've never heard anything through the glass, the room is sound proof against the noise from plane engines. The bathrooms are also really cool, the wall that separates the bathroom from the bedroom has sliding door window, so you can soak in an Epsom salt bath (provided in each room), sip on wine and watch planes land and take off from your bathtub. It's so relaxing and they even give you a plane watching guide that gives you the specs of each plane that comes through the airport. The rooms are also very spacious and the beds are comfy.

In room dining: This is like a car engine that needed to be warmed up. The first dinner we had although while tasty was cold an took forever (over an hour) to get to us. We did complain and after that our experiences with that outlet have just gotten better and better, even with breakfast arriving in 15 minutes the last two times we ordered. Nothing tastes bad on the menu, our favorites are the Rib Eye, Salmon, Crab Cakes, and Vegetarian Eggs Benedict.

Fur Babies: They are very pet friendly here. Our fur babies got treats at check-in from the bellmen and everyone that works here loves dogs. Additionally, there is an small walking trail, that has a lot of grass for the your pets to do their business next to the hotel, which you wouldn't think would be there because you are at the airport. The only drawback for us is that we can't leave our well-behaved, house trained fur babies alone in the room. Which is why we prefer Marriott branded hotels because we can. So we're pretty much confined to the room with our doggies, I hope they relax this rule in the future.

Fitness Center and Pool: You can people watch while you work out or hangout at the pool. The facility over looks Delta Airlines check-in so its interesting to see of what people are doing down there while you get your workout in. There are a lot of cardio machines and weights so there is never a wait to use anything.

Valet/Parking: Who knows of where self parking is here, I would only valet. Getting our car is the only thing that continues to take a long time, and I'm not even sure if this team belongs to the Fairmont. I think they are a outsourced company, but you can wait a while before someone pops up to help you.

Service: The employees that work here are super friendly. From the housekeeper down the hall to wait staff walking through the lobby area and room service team, everyone here has been so nice and genuinely focused on us having a good stay.

If you are stuck at YVR do not hesitate to book here. Heck, if I had a crazy long layover or a very delayed flight here, I would ask for a day rental. It beats waiting at an airport gate in uncomfortable chairs!

Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff. In the airport but you can easily walk to food outside of security. You can also walk to the train that will take you to the city.

Super expensive for no reason. Over $300 for a room worth $100. And they want $15 a night for wifi that you can get in the airport for free. Absolutely avoid - unless needed for convenience and work is paying.

World class property situated directly in terminal. The existence of Fairmont YVR lifts the entire airport to one of my favorite airports in the world. Great service provided by the professional team, good food and drinks, excellent decor and hardware in the Fairmont gold floor completed with a jacuzzi tub. What a way to start or end your journey!

4.5 Stars - Does not feel like an airport, in a great way. Do not let the entrance at departures fool you.this is a beautiful hotel. From the massive chandelier upon entry to the spa inspired gym everything is well thought out. The toiletries are high end and the views are stunning if you get the right room. We were lucky enough to be given a junior suite for only $170 so you can imagine our surprise when we saw the room. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were feather. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 5 days and we will be returning. The loss of stars is due to the pool area needing some work. Needs to be cleaner and filled up properly.

You can hang out in a lounge before your flight or you can put in some leg work and head to the Fairmont. Landside and upstairs at the end of the international terminal is the spot to be.

Love this hotel! The staff is amazing! They are friendly and so focused on details to ensure a high quality experience. I had a short stay and the concierge provided me directions to enjoy a run and this beautiful city. The rooms are wonderful! My room looked over one of the airport terminals and mountains. It was so quiet and a beautiful site. Look forward to my return!

We just checked into the Fairmont on our way to Cabo. We were greeted with a very professional front desk attendant who informed us we were given a complimentary upgrade and a surprise in our room as a way to celebrate our 35 th wedding anniversary.we recieved a wonderful room upgrade and a plate of exquisite chocolates. Thank you so much Fairmont for being the only hotel we stay at on our way to our holidays.top notch service and ammenities

Great business meeting location, the breakfast was great and the service was outstanding. I will definitely return. Couldn't be more happy with the Fairmont.
