I am very pleased with the quality of the windows and patio door they supplied and installed. They installed a patio door and 4 windows. The team was very respectful, efficient & thorough. I am more than happy to recommend them.

I recently needed some help with home repairs to my vinyl siding. It was a small job which some of the other companies wouldn’t entertain or were booked up on larger jobs till January 2023. Ryan made an easy assessment online with a photo I provided. Shortly after, Jeff came in person to write up the contract and Chris came the following week to fix my siding. I would highly recommend this BBB rated company for quality, reliability, and friendly service.

In 2009 year, I contracted House Smart Home Improvements to install Amana AMV9 furnace. I signed a contract that had a lifetime warranty for the heat exchanger and 10 years for parts and labour. The contract says that the full furnace will be replaced if the heat exchanger would fail. In 2021, the gasket leaked and I contacted the company. The technician came and charged me for two trips (the first one to check the problem and the second time to replace the gasket and the gasket itself). The rust was coming out of the heat exchanger, and the technician did not say anything. On October 21,2022, after summer season, the furnace failed to start. The next two days were Saturday and Sunday and the company was closed. As the warranty contract for the furnace, except the heat exchanger was over and based on the previous experience related to gasket replacement, I decided to contact another company. They sent a technician morning October 24 to do an inspection. The finding was a hole in the oxidized heat exchanger and the technician showed it to me. He also advised me that the most possible cause of the leaking gasket in 2021 was the oxidized heat exchanger that had started degrading. I called House Smart Home Improvements, explained the problem, and advised that I had a lifetime warranty contract on the heat exchanger. The lady call taker said she is going to look into my record. Shortly she replied they do not have any records for a lifetime warranty or any extended warranty on the furnace nor the parts parts at my address. I repeated that I have a contract with a life time warranty for the heat echanger. She advised me that I would have to pay for any rec-curing job. As my kid was sick and the temperature in the house was about 15 degrees of Celsius (re: 59 Fahrenheit), and the company representative declined the initially provided by them warranty, I had to make a decision and replace the furnace by a different company. Three days later, on October 26,2022, the Smart Home Improvements representative called my home number and did not even leave a voice message. Later, I called him back and he replied that they do not install Amana furnaces anymore, the warranty was provided by Amana and I could contact any company that represents Amana on a market to replace it. First of all it was 3 days later and that was not what I had written in the contract.

This is the second window project that we have done with House Smart. From the first contact/email until the completion of the project, House Smart employees have been exceptionally professional, prompt, friendly, efficient and caring.

Emails and phone calls are returned promptly. Questions are responded to in detail and in a timely manner.

Our salesperson has been Bryan White. He is knowledgeable, customer service oriented, honest, prompt and efficient. The office staff, in particular, Shauna Jung, has been so pleasant to deal with. She, too, has a customer oriented attitude and strong work ethic. She is prompt, efficient and friendly in her emails and phone calls. She never seem to tire of my "one last question" which I asked many times.

Shauna was very helpful is scheduling my installation date in relation to my house reno.

On the day before the installation, Shauna called me to confirm that they were all good to go and that the installer would be arriving within a certain "window" of time! James and his helper Omar arrived promptly at 9: 00 am and started to work immediately. They were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the task on hand. After a few questions, they were hard at work. They worked steadily and go the project done by the end of the work day. They cleaned up the work area thoroughly.

I would strongly recommend that anyone who is planning to replace or install new windows to seriously consider contact House Smart for a quote. I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Windows were as ordered and installation was good. We ordered the windows back in November. Due to supply chain issues, our windows arrived in June. In the meantime, I had several interactions with their staff suggesting that the windows had arrived and to be ready for install. This occurred 4 times. Twice I adjusted my work schedule to accommodate. In addition, due to the length of time to complete the work, our blinds ordered ended having to be rescheduled 3 times and due to new Canadian rules, we now have to spend more for the largest window. I was informed by one of their managers that they would correct the final price for all the inconveniences however, I’m the end, the owner of the company refused. We got so sick of dealing with them, that we paid in full to end the situation. We were always reasonable and fair with their staff but the last interaction with their managers have left us unsatisfied. After paying in full, the manager dealing with our file called us the next to apologize and offered us a reasonable solution which we were happy about. Despite the lengthy wait for the windows, I would still recommend House Smart. Bryan was my main contact. Thanks

Last fall, our rental property's furnace quit. My business partner found a advertising flyer from this company. We called the company. Greg came gave us a $4714 estimate. We agreed to proceed. What happened after that was all down hill. The installation technician didn't notify us for the two trips that he came to our rental property. On the installation day, we waited the whole morning and finally found out after calling the office that he was already there. The installation job was rough and he didn't clean up after the work. My tenant called afterwards and we had to go over cleaning after the mess. The receipt wasn't given to us till a month after the installation was done. My tenant later told us that the new furnace was very noisy. It is more noisy than the 20 years old furnace that was replaced. We installed Tempstar F96VTN0401410A. It was definitely a mistake to work with this company.

We have had home improvements done by HouseSmart and had no issues with them. However, their business practices now are atrocious.

In 2015 they installed a new Goodman furnace and they sold us 10-year parts & labour warranty in writing.

In Mid 2021 we reached out to them to add a Goodman heat pump which according to them qualified us for Fortis Rebate. After waiting for a long period, they told us it won’t qualify for the rebate. After months of delay, I had to once again start researching alternative products and service providers. We had Moore and Russell installed Lennox product in days with zero hassle.

This year our furnace would flame up intermittently, so I called HouseSmart service department to send someone. The service lady informed me that the air filter might be dirty and the battery in the thermostat may be weak. The filter was very new and the thermostat had no battery to start with. This month the problem became consistent and we had cold nights. I called and spoke to the service lady again. This time she told me we’ll have to wait 3 days for service and it’ll cost me $130+ for troubleshooting. When I explained we had an Extended 10-year parts & labour warranty, she said we will still be billed for diagnostics fees. This is in addition to the warranty amount we had paid. We had a heated argument because this additional fee was not written in the agreement. I told her that I’ll give them a 1-Star Rating for their “scummy” business practices. Apparently, the manager came on line and he did not like me calling their practices “scummy” and hung up on me.

Thank God I had Moore & Russell to fall back on. Guess what? M&R sent the technician the same day and diagnosed the Goodman furnace for NO CHARGE, even though my warranty was on the Lennox product and not on the HouseSmart product. I should get my warranty payment refunded.

Never again will we deal with HouseSmart after giving them three home improvement projects and several thousand dollars in business. Go to Moore & Russell they are simply awesome.

I called 4 companies - someone named Glen came to my place and did measurements and quoted me on windows. House Smart offered the best price. The install went smoothly and the windows look great! Will definitely recommend this company to friends.

The staff were very friendly and responsive to our needs. They did need to get extra equipment to drill, unexpectedly, through our foundation which meant the installation took a bit longer than originally planned. There was also an issue with some adhesive spillage. However, the staff responded quickly and very satisfactorily to the small issues. The furnace works perfectly, efficiently, and quietly.

Very disappointed, almost 9 months from the sales person to installation, incomplete installation, i still don't have screens for my windows.would not recommend, there are better and faster companies.

My experience with House Smart Home Improvements window purchase and installment was a pleasant experience from the beginning to the end with the salesman who wasn't pushy but informative and personable to the installers who did an excellent job and left our premises clean. We have noticed how much quieter it is now with the new windows and the impovement with the appearance of the windows and frames. The price is reasonable too.

Very happy with our choice of replacement windows - salesman was very patient with us and was able to answer all the questions we had. Once the windows had been made the communication was excellent with their office and the installation was clean, tidy and quick. Overall we are very pleased!

We had some of our windows replaced with the energy efficient vinyl ones. It was a very pleasant experience from the time we we given an estimate to the time of installation. The installer Josh, did an excellent job and all the debris was removed. Will definetly recommend house smart for your home renovations.

Wonderful Product/Wonderful Experience! We just had a large window installed in the master bedroom (doing renovations!) and it looks fantastic! The works was done quickly and professionally and the results are amazing. Glenn, the salesperson was a delight to deal with (no pressure!) and when we told him our long term renovation plans he took the time to explain how House Smart could do the work even though those sales would be a couple years away! Our neighbor (retired House Appraiser) had all his windows replace the year before so I knew I could trust his recommendation and House Smart did not disappoint.

Lifetime Warranty does not include $75 "shipping fee" for a warranty claim on a single window that needed to be replaced. There's no mention of additional fees anywhere in all of the warranty paperwork provided when the original install was completed

Window was just installed last week, so cannot comment on durability, however, it looks great and the service was excellent. Of multiple quotes we received Brian was one of the few that visited the house and the only one who came prepared with a sample product, catalogs and took the time to discuss options. Installation team was efficient, friendly and professional.

They installed a big window in my family room. They arrived on time, perfect installation, professional staff, lifetime guarantee! I definitely recommend them. You don't need to be worried about anything. They did mud around the window as well. I just did sand and paint.
