BIG BAD BACON BURGER. All the way! One of the best burgers on the West Coast. It's a biggie so plan accordingly lol.

Best restaurant I've been too in a while they have an arcade pool tables and a stage for live music and the staff is super friendly and makes you feel like family the owner Amy is amazing such a great person would highly recommend howlers to anyone.

Always a great place for burger and a beer or breakfast, if tahts what you're into.haha

Where do I start? This was the best dining out experience I have ever had. Immediately we were greeted at the door and sat for dinner. Food came out crazy quick and our waitress, Katie, was so cheerful and sweet!
I ordered the Pacific Prawn Linguine and my other half ordered the Big Bacon Burger and we both enjoyed it so much! Prawns were SUPER fresh with the pasta cooked to absolute perfection (simplistic yet wonderful). The burger patty wasn’t massive which made everything compliment each other beautifully.
This is was such a wonderful experience! From the food to the service you will not be disappointed! (We went back the next night to for drinks and appies because we couldn’t get enough!)

Loved our visit to Howler’s whilst we were visiting Ucluelet! Was a very local bar and had a great atmosphere, good food and drink selection and all at a very reasonable price. If we visit again from the UK will definitely be back, can’t remember the servers name but girl with the small eyebrow tattoo was great!

Excellent family restaurant, the owner herself serving the customer, the food are to die for, especially the Seafood Tsunami, dont miss if you visit Ucluelet.

The food here is typical pub fare. It was decent. We had poutine (veg gravy), chicken wings, and chicken tenders. The servers were fantastic. It's got an arcade, pool tables, and a family section. The entire place including the restrooms were clean. I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. We were pretty hungry from the trip.

If you want bland food and poor service. Come here! Server barely visited our table and the main draw (the clam bowl) was “unavailable”. I spent over $100 (with tip) and wished I went to the store for spam and tomatoes (which I can’t stomach). Don’t come here.

We had a very good time at this restaurant. The staff were nice and friendly, food was very delicious, big portions and came on a good timing. Washrooms were clean. There are an amazing game and arcade area that can make your day specially on rainy days. It was such a memorable fun time for my family.

One of the best restaurants nearby! Food is great, I recommend the wings and poutine. Service was friendly and convenient. Entertainment in the establishment was great as well. Go if your in town!

Most of the arcade games didn't work, the bowling was not working as they were waiting to fix it. The food was ok, the pool table was $5 for 1/2 hour.

Our takeout order was ready in 15 min and they called us when they were wrapping our food. Fish n chips and elk burger were delish. Staff seemed very friendly too.

This was a pleasant surprise on our trip! Quick stop in the Clam choker was great and there are tons of games! From bowling to arcade games! A must stop if in Uculete

Worst service we have ever had and the restaurant was freezing cold. It was -3°c outside, felt like -2°c inside. We waited at the door for a good 10 minutes for someone to seat us. They were sort of busy but less than 1/2 capacity for sure and a number of tables were just waiting to leave it looked like. We finally got seated and the server took about 5 minutes to bring over menus, why wouldn’t you give us menus when you sat us? We ordered 2 cokes once he got back with the menus. We waited another 20-25 minutes for him to come back with the cokes so we could order and decided to leave after we heard the table 2 down from us complaining to a table that just sat down by them, that they had been waiting close to an hour for food. We said forget it. Never got our cokes and just sat in the freezing cold for no reason. Didn’t even see any staff when we left helping anyone at all. I guess when there aren’t a lot of places to eat in a small town you can get away with giving such terrible service. We had been wanting to try this place every time we come to town to visit and honestly what a let down, won’t even bother trying to food, they don’t deserve our business. We ended up finding a place called The Blue Room. They were cold inside as well but at least they are a restaurant that seems to actually want to serve customers and the food was good.

Great food and fun time. One star gone as many of the games didn't work but 5 stars for food and service

Wow! I came here for the food, and was very happy with what I got. Ordered the buffalo chicken poutine and got exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. The fries are quite literally the best fries I think I have ever had, very soft centers and a perfectly crisp exterior. The flavours of the toppings were right on point as well! Portion was large in the best of ways. Came with blue cheese dip on the side.

Service was around often enough to have all needs met and very friendly, I was happy.

Food is always good, the arcade and bowling kept the kids happy. Food took way to long to be brought out on multiple tables but always a good experience when we visit Ucluelet

This is a decent enough pub with the usual far but we came here for the games and sadly most were not fully functioning in one way or another. They have several very rare pinball tables - Lethal Weapon, Last Action Hero & Rocky & Bullwinkle to name a few but all aside from Last Action Hero had significant flaws or were not working at all. Also tried to play Streetfighter but one stick was malfunctioning as were some of the buttons, making the game unplayable. I know I shouldn’t expect too much but it’s always a disappointment when advertised arcade games aren’t functioning properly.

Love this place for so many reasons, will say it's the best chowder I've ever had! Great job by all the staff! Thanks.

This place was an absolute blessing for us out-of-towners visiting during the off season as most other places were closed on the day we were dining or were incredibly overpriced. A bit slow during pickup but given that they had a surprise large party and we were visiting during off-season, it's certainly not their fault and we were happy to wait. The food was as expected, nothing incredible but perfectly good.

Very disappointed with the steamed beach shells meal. It was $19 for 3 mussels and several empty shells. Very small portion with no sauce. Asked for some extra sauce and complained about the size to receive an “oh really. ” from a female server… that to say our male server was very kind and friendly with a great energy but the female that served us before and seated us was extremely rude. Was just 3 friendly ladies going to a restaurant on a quiet night. Sad as it is such a cute place and could be so great.

Fish was undercooked but the real issue was the terrible service. Rude waitress who made it feel like we were inconveniencing her just by coming in.

Upon entering, one of the staff asked us to wait at the entrance when there were clearly open tables that had not been cleaned. Eventually, we got a table and they took our order. Something that I observed was that at one table, someone had finished their main course before their friend had even received theirs. These people complained to the staff, but the staff still didn’t bring the food until much later on. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we still had not received our appetizers and asked for a pitcher of water which they had forgotten to give us. We asked three more times, and they finally brought the pitcher, but forgot it on a different table. Once we received our main course (the burger), the patties were over cooked and hard as a puck. The patty would not slice if you tried to cut it, it would just crumble. After finishing our food, we decided to try the pinball machine which took our money without actually giving the pinball. Overall, the staff were unorganized, the place was messy, and the food was not very good.

This place is awesome! Ordered take out 3 times in the 3 days we were in Ucluelet.yikes haha. Seafood linguine was my wifes fav. Great wonton soup and apple crumble too. Highly recommend!

Im writing this review as we have an abundance of time waiting for our food. We ordered wings and a salad over an hour ago and we are still waiting for them to make an appearance. We have empty drinks and haven’t been checked in on since we’ve sat down.

If you’re in a rush I do not recommend coming here.

My wife and I ate here on August 6th. Food tasted great and the Caesars were nice and spicy. Our server was very friendly. Our food took about 45 min to come and our server took a long time to bring our bill, Besides these two negatives I would still give it a 4 our of 5 experience. I recommend going here if you are in Uclulet.

Dill pickle chicken wing are the best wings I've ever ate ever I would eat these every day! 8 outta 10

Service horrible, je n'y retournerais absolument jamais. Après avoir attendu 1hre15 et demandé à 3 reprises pour avoir les repas de mes 3 enfants de 3,6 et 7 ans, ils apportent 2 repas pour enfants et l'entrée de mon conjoint sans rien mentionner du 3e repas pour enfant. Après avoir demandé ce qu'il en est pour ma 3e fille, on nous informe qu'il ne reste plus de pâtes pour le repas de la dernière et qu'ils vont en refaire cuire. Ma fille fait alors un autre choix de plat car elle a faim, mais elle est très déçue. Quant à moi, j'annule ma commande de repas et celle de mon mari, le délais étant inadmissible, surtout avec de jeunes enfants, et je demande d'avoir le 3e repas pour enfant à emporter. Pourtant, nous étions un dimanche soir et il semblait y avoir beaucoup de personnel sur place pour le nombre de clients présents. Expérience vraiment désagréable, je suis sortie du restaurant en colère et affamée.

Not happy with the customer service and the waitress. Maybe they are tired during these busy days but it's better to change the working shifts if they are tired. I also noticed this issue from another reviewer.

Calamari was some sort of finger that was as chewy as an eraser. Sold out of fish, so no fish and chips a stone throws away from the ocean.luke warm chowder at best. Will not eat here again.

So I come here on days off from camp, I live on the island. Buying a bunch of shots. And in the middle of my time spent there I was asked to clear up my bill because they we're worried that I couldn't afford it. The bill was under 250 bucks. Then after I paid it. They said if I want to continue my tab I'll need a credit card. Also please keep in mind I've been buying shots and various drinks for 11 people. So 250 isn't many drinks. Joys of being native in Canada. Needless to say I'll never come back

Best good on earth in one of the most beautiful places of earth with the very best company and atmosphere shout out to Kent Furey, amazing place!

Picked up food here on a rainy day when we were visiting town. All the food was very fresh and flavourful. Prices were very reasonable for the portion and we were overall satisfied with our experience. Definitely recommend for those in the area.

Very good food - service a bit slow
We had the Crab Cakes (excellent, came out very quickly as a starter) followed by the kids cheeseburger (very good, portion as big as a small adult meal) and shared the Saigon Beef bowl (very good, extremely tasty) and the Calamari and shoestring fries (fresh and good portion for $11). Overall very good food - family friendly place.

Me and my boyfriend and i went here for dinner tonight our thrid time in a month and a half probably, love this place but i ordered deepfried pickles and the bartender came in and ordered deepfried pickles and mine where up and he just took them and ate them, my meal came before the appetizer and my boyfriends food didn't arrive cause the waiter didnt remember it.i wouldnt even care about the bartender eating my pickles but they giggled about it and acted like children

Used to love coming here for food and games but since covid I've just seemed to really been skimped out on food many times so I honestly stopped going there. The consistency really stopped after covid hit which is too bad because the food used to always be extremely good and consistent

This was a surprise. I was expecting a family style restaurant and I guess it is because there are pool tables and games at the very back. However the front of the restaurant itself is very West coast contemporary. Good food and good service. Will definitely return!

I was craving a fried chicken sandwich and was not disappointed! Deliciously moist, well seasoned, breaded chicken with a side of home made fries - it was delicious! Hubby loved the wings as well!

Great food, great service, loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend the Highway 4 chicken burger.

The fries here could become seriously addictive, and the elk burger was really, really good. Quick, freindly service!

The staff here was so friendly and the food was great. My husband and I came here for lunch and tried the burger and the prawn appetizer, both were very good. The service was great, and our food came out so quickly.

Family style restaurant as you enter the town of Uclulet. We thoroughly enjoyed the clam chowder, crab cakes and fish and chips! Good service, too

We were seated in the very back of the restaurant and we were easily forgotten. We were clearly there at a busy time but as it died down, our service was still slow.
I'm assuming it was covid related.
I had the fish and chips and it was amazing! Our caesar salad was really garlicky (If you love garlic then you'll love this salad). Would come again but ask to be seated in a more visible area.

Food was good; we had the crab cakes, yam fries, onion rings and maple bacon wings. There was no sauce for the crab cakes and no dip for the onion rings which we thought was odd. We did a take out order and the sever was nice, she gave us a 15% discount as it took an hour for the food to be ready. I will note, the only reason we chose this place was because we were given a $20 gift card. This place wasn't on our list of must go to restaurants.

Service was great. Covid rules took away from the experience. All video games and pinball machines were turned off. Food was great. We had some beer and played pool. Size of establishment is very deceiving from outside.
