Hugo's Mexican Kitchen

Mexican restaurant in Cuernavaca, Morelos. With staff from Guadalajara. The only thing missing is a good chef, more Mexican seasoning.

My husband and I went for dinner and our server Roman was incredible. He was knowledgeable about the menu, quick witted on his menu sells. There was a small mistake on one of our tacos and he got us the proper one right away and left us with the extra one as well something else on the house for the mistake. He made the experience really memorable and was a really great server!

Been here a couple times and everything we've ordered has been excellent. There aren't many great Mexican cuisine places around, and Hugo's definitely fills that craving I get when I want something authentic and delicious.

Today I didn't have time to sit, so I ordered for take-out. Unfortunately, it took a bit longer than expected but the staff went above and beyond and put in a couple cans of soda and guacamole in the bag to make up for it. We were a bit sad to find that our quesabirras didn't have the accompanying birria cup when we arrived home - but they were super busy, did their best, and it was still delicious regardless. It's been too long, will definitely need to make time to come in for a proper meal and take some pictures of their wonderful dishes.

Great food, drinks and vibe. We went there an hour before closing and they seemed a bit hesitant to take us. They were a bit pushy taking our order and seemed impatient for us to leave before they closed.

Really great Mexican spot. Cute and cozy. Really great selection and a lot of gluten free options

Very good place. It's good to know where to go when you want to try the closest thing to Mexican food that actually tastes like real Mexican food. Even the music is Mexican. Try it

Super epic. I love Mexican food but this one is the best that I have tried in the Lower Mainland. And the servers were so amazing

Went in with high hopes but the restaurant had weird vibes and staff was a cold and judgy. There was a whole open section where we could see boxes and cleaning supplies falling out and the bathroom was filled with a wall of fruit flies. Food was ok at best and way too overpriced. I don’t think I’d go again

Food is usually pretty good but pricey and service is unorganized. Last few times we have ordered from here there's been some mistake made either the order wasn't received for take out or they have missed something in the order which is pretty disappointing because they don't do anything to rectify the mistakes either.

Stopped in here for lunch. The server got a rush but handled it deftly. Water was filled and refilled reasonably quickly.
Ordered (vegan) chicharons, chicken pork and cauliflower tacos, and lemon margarita mocktail. Also received complimentary chips and salsa. And it, honestly, was the highlight. Seemed to come with Verde, queso and another salsa which were quite nice and 2 had a nice kick to them.
Overlooked that the chicharons were vegan but it is written in the menu. I just wasn't expecting it. It came with something akin to a spicy ketchup.
The tacos did not come with any salsas but I likely could have asked for some. There was nothing on the menu identifying salsa/sauce options other than hunting through individual dishes. The flavor was nice and authentic but not what I would consider elevated.
Definitely better than average and not standard or fast food.

Was taken here by a friend during our visit to BC from Toronto. We were well taken care of by staff and everything tasted absolutely delicious. Their plant-based chicharrones were really good along with their churros. Lots of GF and plant-based options for those with dietary restrictions. They even can sub cheese for cashew cream. Will definitely be back!

They forgot about my order so had to wait 20 minutes extra to pick up. The food was really good.

Great food and wonderful experience over all! The food was so good fresh made chips and guacamole. The service was amazing! The rice and beans were to die for and to end it off we had churros that were also amazing! Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Langley (which is very hard to find)! For an appy, entree and dessert it was only 20$! And the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful! Will definitely be back here!

Turn the music down. We had to leave. We asked twice to turn the music down it was so loud. Next table over asked and still loud. It was too much. Food was good, no spoon with soup. By the time we got our waitresses attention (music too loud) the soup was cold.

We took the family tonight and what a fun atmosphere with great service. Not to mention amazing fresh delicious food with great portions. My daughter said it was the best restaurant we have been to and I agree completely. We have tried so many of their menu items and all are incredible. PS best Guacamole I have ever had!

I also like the louder music so you can hear your table but not the one next to you. Feels authentic and we just love it for dine in and take out.

I went today for the very first to Hugo’s kitchen to try Mexican food. Food was really good. I really like the service of ROMAN, excellent service. He was so nice to all customers. Amazing Roman.

Chips with Guacamole and the cocktails were delicious. The quesadilla was bland and gross, and I barely ate it.

Ordered takeout over the phone, I was advised it would be 45 minutes. Upon arrival I went up to the bar to pay where I saw one on the employees sitting on the floor behind the bar on her phone. Not only is this very unprofessional but it is very unsanitary. I have never experienced anything like this, management definitely needs to have a chat with their staff to address this issue.

The food was good and the service was extraordinary. It's a nice little quaint place with the music not super loud and such a chill vibe!

Went there about 3 weeks ago. Overall it was pretty much terrible. Service took extremely long and my food was already cold and stale by the time it got to my table. I'm sure that I didn't go at a busy time because I went around 5pm but the washrooms were trashed and it was a quite unsanitary. They didn't even scan for Covid Vaccines. I do not recommend this place at all. Honestly disappointed but the 2 stars are because the guac was good.

I see this place all over social media and went to try it out. The place was filthy, floors were gross tables were sticky, some staff members in the back were not even wearing masks. My service was awful, the host was incredibly rude and then they were so slow to come and ask for our drink order and she would not hold a convo at all and then our dinner came out late. The food was cold and not even really flavourful as well as the drinks being not up to anyone's standards.

Poor quality and unprofessionalism are the only words that cometo mind when I think of Hugos Mexican Kitchen. They lack cleanliness, flies everywhere, dirty floors, sticky tables, and the glass wear is disgusting. Super unimpressed with this place. Service was slow, waited very long for food and server didn’t even apologize; she didn’t care to have a conversation and seemed to want to be anywhere else whenever she’d walk up to her table. The tacos are soggy and overpriced. The second you walk into hugos, you are greeted with music so loud, you can’t even hear someone standing 2ft in-front of you. They have an underaged girl making drinks while the food sits on the window getting cold and soggy with every second that passes by. The kitchen staff seem to care more about the music plying in the back than they do about making the food in a timely manner, they lack any form of hygiene with kitchen staff eating directly from the food in-front of them and only a hat to pull their hair back. This restaurant should not be operating due to the lack of cleanliness, underage girls making drinks, long wait times, and unprofessionalism.

I visited last Saturday and it was fantastic! Service was very nice. I tried famous taco loco with horchata water and it was delicious. For dessert I ordered churro bowl, amazing ice cream and churros, speechless. I recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely horrible service with poor cleanliness. My main course came out with a full on cockroach in the taco… how disgusting… I asked to speak to manager and they were completely rude asking me to pay for my meal and leave? In what world was I in the wrong. As I was leaving Juan called me an unprofessional name regarding my black skin colour. Overall a horrible experience and would not recommend. The second manager Sandra was ganging up on me telling me I placed the cockroach in the taco as I could barely understand her English. Sandra yelled “Despacito”. What ever that means and I decided it was my time to head home. The food itself was okay… but I’m never going back again

Had fun great place to go good vibe managers where very nice to there servers and seems like a great place to work

Service was pretty awful, our waitress forgot our mains and we had to wait another 30-40 minutes for them. Then messed up my partner’s order anyway. Food is mediocre, but the portions are good. The pina colada I had was pretty good, only redeeming quality of our visit.

Food was really good no complains and service was really good. But they made a mistake by giving me Shredded chicken taco loco when I ordered vegetarian. I am strictly vegetarian. Please be careful next time when you write down or prep the order

I went to Hugo's a couple nights ago, I ordered a Taco Loco. Firstly It wasn't loco, second I am Muslim and cannot eat pork, I ordered the beef taco loco. My food arrived and everything was alright until I took a bite and it was PORK, I could feel the hell fire under my feet. Now I have to go to the mosque and pray because I was forced unintentionally to do a haram thing. Thanks Hugo's!

I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, however I did not enjoy my dinner nor did my freind. It appeared as though other dinners were enjoying them selves so maybe you will too. I probably will not risk a second try.

So happy we finally made it out to Hugos!

Food and service was great! Our server was Valeria and she was literally running as it was very busy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the young man behind the bar was terrible. The music was skipping probably a streaming service. So the guy behind the bar (who seemed to be doing very little, in fact when we walked in Valeria was busy with other customers so we waited for about 5 minutes to have our vaccine status checked and seated the whole time we could see the guy behind the bar on his phone not lifting a finger to help), put on some other music that was way too loud and the style of music would have been fine for a night club but not this quaint little Mexican restaurant. Ideally some Mexican/Spanish type of music would have been appropriate. I know it's hard to find good people but perhaps the owner should have been present as it was like a Friday as this was Wednesday evening with Thursday being a holiday, Remembrance Day.
Once again the food was amazing! Too bad about the atmosphere.

Will always come back for the amazing food and drinks, but the last time we went the service was even worse than the last time we came… she didn’t write down our order resulting in the wrong food coming out. Very slow.

Had the cauliflower tacos and a cactus taco, and my friend had the Hugo’s bowl. All delicious! I especially love how many plant based options are on the menu. I’ll definitely be going back again soon! They also have great happy hour prices for drinks as well and their margaritas are fantastic!

The first time we went to Hugo’s it was so amazing! I got the guava mojito and it was the best. Not sure what happened but then visit was not the same. The drink tasted like mint and soda water and was half full the food was subpar. The server blamed it on the new glasses. Super disappointed as we loved it the first time. Inconsistency makes it difficult for me to want to try again!

Food takes a little while from when you order but its worth the wait. Servers are a little slow though. Small little restaurant. Friendly service. One of our daughters had a spider in her drink. Not sure where it came from. The waitress at first charged us for the drinks (which both our 4 year olds ended up not drinking because of the spider) and we were alright about it. However, the waitress realized and then went to take off the drinks which we appreciated and now because of this service we will be going back.

I WENT THERE LAST NIGHT AND WE RECEIVED THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR DINING LIVES. FOOD WAS SLOPPY SOGGY AND COLD AND THE SERVERS AND MANAGEMENT WERE EXTREMELY RUDE. NONE OF THE KITCHEN STAFF WERE WEARING MASKS AND THEY DO NOT CHECK FOR VACCINATION PROOF AS THE OWNER DOES'NT BELIEVE IN BEING VACCINATED. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS LOCATION BUT THE TACOS, SERVICE AND STAFF AT THE RICHMOND LOCATION ARE SUPERB. THE LANGLEY LOCATION NEEDS AN ENTIRE STAFF CHANGE ESPECIALLY THE RUDE MANAGER WHO WAS ALSO BARTENDING AND TOO BUSY FLIRTING WITH THE LADIES AT THE BAR AND MAKING THEM SHOTS TO EVEN CARE ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE.
