The worst experience, it seems like you are begging, after the first contact the inconsequential service, the delicious food!

If they could avoid it, but like me, we were overcome by the curiosity of knowing what the food, service, etc.is like.

Typical steak house. Warm atmosphere, friendly service. Steak Wellington (in crust, with wine reduction, we didn't taste either oyster or food gras) and Neptune (with slightly thick hollandaise sauce and asparagus). Perfectly cooked meat, it melted in your mouth…
Apple crumble to share (a little runny and the crumble wasn't crunchy).
Service a little slow.
With a glass of red wine, bill for 2 of $230 pre tip

Excellent service and great tender and tasty steaks! Also must try their Cheese Toast for Two and their renowned French Onion Soup. These are one of their well known appetizers. Expect to spend about $75 to $100 per person. If you ask for Caesar Salad, their chef will create the dressing and then toss the salad right in front of you with an entertaining demonstration. Overall a wonderful experience and we will be back!

I got the Wellington and my bf got the peppercorn steak, table side Caesar salad and cheese bread. I was too full for dessert but they have a table side banana dish I wanted to try as well! Yummy and classic experience and such a nice change from the Keg in my opinion…

Incredible dining experience. Austin was our server and delivered 3 incredible table side meals, including the best steak one member of our party has ever had. This is a must visit for fine dining in Whistler.

John, our server, was fantastic. The scallop appetizer was phenomenal, so too was the bone-in ribeye.

Pro: Friendly and attentive service, swanky decor, nice cocktails and wine list. French onion soup and cheese toast were delicious.

Cons: Entrees were good, but nothing spectacular. It was over priced.

We decided to come here for our special honeymoon dinner and what a great decision that was! The food was truly amazing and incredibly delicious.
All of our food came out in a timely manner, and tasted incredibly fresh. Not only was the food tasty but the atmosphere was very soft and inviting!

We both agreed that by far the best part of our whole experience was our server Austin. He was knowledgeable of the different plates as well as his wine lists; but it was his genuine personality and easy ability to chat with us that made it a memorable experience.
We would highly recommend anyone looking for an unforgettable night to stop by for some dinner and fingers crossed you’ll have Austin as your server! With that being said we wouldn’t have a single hesitation about coming back again.
We both had the evening specials, a halibut dish and a NY steak and prawns dish. For dessert we couldn’t resist the sounds of the table side flambéed banana fosters - also another delicious dish!

Thanks again for such an amazing experience Austin and HY’s staff. You’ve got repeat guests in us!

Good food! Expensive but good! Went here for my wife’s birthday dinner. The best part was taking home a mini Heinz ketchup bottle!

Most amazing steak and creme Brule we've ever had.
Our server (Marvin) was personable and knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations.

As always the food is superb at Hy's. Shared a porterhouse as the portions are very large for one person. It was cooked to perfection. The cesear salad is always fun to share as they make it tableside. Tried the pecan carrots which was a nice twist to cooked carrots. You can't go wrong here they even have a variety of vegetarian options.

Hy's never fails to impress! Table side Caesar salad, cheesy bread, and of course steak! Everything was perfect. Bartender Chris was amazing, really went above and beyond.

2/10: Hy’s steakhouse is a chain restaurant with multiple branches. We went to the Whistler Branch. Walking in, the restaurant had a nice vintage old steakhouse vibe. My family and I ordered the sautéed prawns with garlic, tarragon and pernod and the baked escargot with garlic butter for appetizers. The sautéed prawns were fresh and delicious and would highly recommend them to any seafood and garlic lovers. However, I personally found the escargots bland and rubbery/overcooked. We went on to order our mains, in which I ordered the Beef Wellington at the doneness of medium-rare. I then waited for 40 minutes for my main to come only to find out that the Wellington came well-done. Because the wait staff were inattentive and barely checked on our table, I had to call over one of the wait staff to ask for a new Wellington. I then waited 25 more minutes to find that Wellington came medium-well. Since I did not want to bother the wait staff again, I decided to just eat medium-well Wellington. However, the medium-well Wellington was a disaster. The filet mignon was dry to the bone and the puff pastry was soggy. Overall, the two appetizers and my main alone totalled up to $116 CAD before tip and tax. I don’t know if the restaurant was just having a bad day, but the service and quality of the food is nowhere near the price we were paying.

Amazing meal! We shared. 20 oz porterhouse steak, added the carrots and Brussel sprouts.so delicious! We had oysters and prawns cocktail for our appies and keylime pie for dessert. They were so sweet and added the anniversary wish! The red their sommelier suggested was the perfect pairing for our meal! At $200 for the bottle it was well worth the cost.

Great food overall. Had oysters Rockefeller and beef caroaccio as shared apples followed by a perfectly grilled pepper steak.

I'll start with the positives. The staff are very friendly, and the Cesar salad is great.

But for the love of god. The set menu is not worth 110 per person. My tuna was overcooked, my steak was tiny, and the cheese bread was reminiscent of Domino's. That's $110 with no drinks and excluding the 20% gratuity for groups.

Outstanding, two nights having dinner here in Whistler. Avoid the crowds and go for this place, elegant, wonderful food and service and avoid the screaming hens and stags tourists. A haven. Wonderful.

Four Aces

Sébastien provided a great experience from seating to farewell. Meal selections were all tops along with the DJ’s music mix. Appys served freshly prepped and of course our selections of beefsteaks were as good as it gets as expected. A nice evening with nothing but Five Stars.

Went to Hys for the first time on a recent trip to BC. Dinner was absolutely fantastic. Our server, Rich, was attentive & funny. He was able to answer any questions we had and was able to give sound recommendations. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection, and were so tender they melted in our mouths. Dessert was fantastic as well. Highly recommend the cheesecake and the bananas foster for some table side entertainment!

The best service, always. They know how high-class dining should be done. Food is always spot on - the caesar salad done at the table is a highlight. Anyone who gives them less than a 5 star review is either dinning at somewhere too expensive for their budget or had a fluke miss of an experience. Kudos to the Hy’s team. I have been dining here for years - tonight was no exception: fabulous as usual!

Hy's Steak House is beautiful. The ambiance is stunning. The food, lack luster for the price. $62.50 for a 6oz flavorless fillet and steamed half baby potatoes with no seasoning. The sauce drizzled in the plate was good but you shouldn't have drag your food through sauce to make it taste good, it should enhance the flavor. Save your money and go to Rim Rock.

This place was recommended to us by a local so we couldn’t wait to spend our one nice out at Hy’s. The whiskey sour was honestly the best I’ve ever had. The service was okay. What really disappointed me was my boyfriend ordering me the $105 steak and lobster and it was SO small. A small 6oz steak and 5oz lobster with 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes. I ate it in about 5 minutes then went back to the hotel and ordered chicken fingers and fries (I’m 5’4,115lbs for reference haha). Overall it was okay but for the price I would not return.

We were really looking forward to this dinner and we were quite disappointed. Steaks were undercooked and tough. Lobster was bland and chewy. For the price we paid we expect WAY better. Will not be back.

Can't help but love the Happy Hour at this place! Everything tasted amazing but our server (Sebastian) was excellent making our dining experience extra fun! The DJ that night (July 2nd) was awesome as well!

Second time. Really bad service at the whistler location. Cook screwed up my steak twice. Being a steak house, you would think they know the difference between rare and medium rare. Kept getting attitude from whistler waiter Jason. Probably racist.

We had one of the best experiences I've ever had for my birthday dinner lastnight at Hy's Steakhouse. Marvin was genuinely excited to give us the perfect dining experience. He was funny, informative, friendly and passionate about being our waiter. Absolutely nothing short of 5 stars overall. The food was absolutely incredible and all the staff seemed extremely friendly and keen to be there. I can't say enough good things from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Absolutely knocked it out of the park! Way to go team Hy's!

Good tasting food and high quality cuts, but 2 of our 4 steaks were overcooked (well done when we ordered medium rare)

Just super expensive, but tasty food!

They do have Mac and cheese here, but it's not on the menu so you have to ask for it.

I have been a huge Hys fan and a regular at the Vancouver location. I am not sure if this is a chainwide issue or an issue with the Whistler Hys location. My medium rare ordered bone-in rib steak was rare (which is not the end of the world) but the quality of the meat itself was gristly and tough. It was not what I was used to from Hys which I have always felt was my favorite steak house.

The service was good though and so was their always excellent tableside Caesar salad. However, the main reason for going to Hys is for the steak and that fell short.

My husband and I sat at the bar for a quick drink. My whiskey sour was not enjoyable, it had no sweetness and it was shaken so much that there were tiny ice pieces in the drink. There was very little froth on the drink. I've had many whiskey sours and this was extremely underwhelming. We did not see our bartender for the rest of our visit. The person who came to take payment did see my full drink (less a few sips) but did not ask about it. We paid without complaint but will not be returning.

Had a delicious meal at Hy’s with a friend! The restaurant itself is quite large and spacious. Service was attentive.

Got the classic appetizers to start - the cheese bread was delicious. The table side Caesar salad was fun to watch, and tasted great too.

Got the special of the evening - steak, prawns, mashed potato and veggies. The steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare. Prawns were well seasoned.

What can you say that hasn’t been said about a 6 star steakhouse. If you want fine food this place is exquisite. The staff and service are just unbelievable and the quality of food is beyond. The atmosphere and ambience is really, really nice, where the food is served hot and the beverages are cold and everything is just as you dream. It’s all the money, but it feels like it’s worth it️

Great location, lovely seatings, fine dining atmosphere, and service to match. The chef really wowed us; the dishes were gorgeous. Fresh as heck local seafood. The oysters are succulent. The scallops are melt in a bite buttery. The salads are crisp, fresh, and perfectly aiolied. The crab cakes are well seasoned and chuck full of crab meat. The fish is delish. Steaks are pretty good, too, but I would definitely return for the seafood. For a steak house, the seafood is the star!

We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super friendly. Both had great personality, class and professionalism. We just had drinks but they tasted great. High class place to eat. The people around us were enjoying their meals. The server makes the Ceaser salad and dressing right at your table.

Excellent place, delicious food and great coctails! The staff truly cares about your experience.

We got lucky and was able to snatch a dinner reservation on a bc day. Unfortunately, my so and I both were a bit underwhelmed by the food and service. For the price paid, you definitely would except more. Our waitress was a bit awkward and definitely wasn’t genuine with her conversations with us. I’ve had a lot better waiters/waitresses who actually cared about my dining experience at smaller scale restaurants. As for food, the best thing I had was probably the two grilled prawns on the side of my main dish. The steak was good, but I ordered a medium cooked steak and it came out medium rare. It was still a fun dinner date, but I’m unsure if we will be coming back!
