Worst experience ever when it comes to a government office. All I wanted was to switch my driver's license and I was hit with unnecessary words that made the front desk agent feel good it's not that hard to switch my Alberta license to BC it's really easy they just seem to enjoy making the peoples of this beautiful country go through a hard time absolutely horrible and toxic work environment we all know who that evil lady is. The government will soon collapse anyway so any human seeing this stand strong in your light

Thank you Hanna D. (Examiner) Today, on 06/10/23, I got my first ever Canadian class-5 driving license on the second road-test attempt. I failed my first road-test because i made two mistakes on 19/09/23, and my examiner was CD. (Initial) he is a nice professional guy. He gave me some advice to improve that area and come back after 15 days, which i did exactly what he said. And today, i mate an amazing examiner Hanna D. She is very professional, she know how to calm a nervous person and she make me drive comfortably and confidently. As a result, i pass the exam. Thank you so much Hanna i really appreciate your professionalism. I highly recommend this place. Which function with high professionals and nice people.

Compared to driver's license agencies in other provinces, ICBC can be quite bureaucratic. For the same services, they charge higher fees, have lower efficiency, and provide only average service. It's truly hard to believe this would happen in Beautiful British Columbia.

If I could give zero stars I would. All I asked for was the requirements for a class three license. Not only was I not provided with a list, to tell her mindlessly started reading through a book about stuff I told her I already knew. If your staff are going to be serving people, make sure they treat their customers like people!

Then was asked 'Does that answer your question? ' No it does not. I just left.

Unfortunately I have experienced very poor customer service at this location twice now. Staff members do not listen to questions from individuals who have booked appointments and instead make people feel bad about the questions they ask. It is unfortunate because there are limited places to go in Victoria. The one good thing is that if you book an appointment there are short wait times.

I hold a Quebec learners license and went here for applying a leaner’s license in BC. The lady served me took my Quebec L license and instructed me to complete my knowledge test. Unfortunately, I didn’t pass. I was served by another representative and kindly asked her to give my Quebec ID back. Then, the original rep told us that my card was destroyed cuz she thought I was going to pass. Now I lost my Quebec ID without having a new one. The one destroyed my id surprisingly apologized to the other staff instead of me. I was shocked by how rude and arrogant she was. Should you come to this office for any service if you are coming from another province.

Only one or two workers of this location forget that this is not their Personal property. You are getting paid because People are paying ICBC in different ways. Keep this in your mind and Go to school again and learn how to speak with customers.

The front-line staff at this location were very friendly and professional. This licensing office deserves 5 stars. The people who work there are not a personification of ICBC.

Say what you we will about ICBC, who is all but untouchable at this point, the staff here are just humans trying to survive like you and I.

Zero stars for this location & staff involved Wednesday morning.

Had a friend who went to ICBC Wharf st.for his knowledge test (has a Valid Student Visa, study permit, passport and international DL that will be expiring soon)

He was DENIED and told international residents can not take the test which is FALSE! (many people have taken it recently). The lady was unapologetic after wasting his time & denying him the service for NO GOOD REASON. Mind you, he was there a few days earlier (didn't have the right docs & was told by another staff to return with certain docs which HE DID) Staff from a few days ago was there and said nothing. ICBC McKenzie confirmed that he could come to their location and take the test with no problems regardless of being "international"

Very awful experience he had early in the morning.

I got super fast walk in service when I went in the morning at 9: 30. The lady I worked with was wonderful, friendly and efficient. I’m used to Ontario DMVs and this was way better

Where is the zero star option? 1 star implies that they actually tried. Anyways, another disappointing experience with ICBC. After confirming with an ICBC agent over the phone that I had the required documents I booked an appointment for an early license renewal. Upon arrival I was denied service by the reception agent because she felt the documents were not sufficient despite the information I was previously given by ICBC. This particular agent* had zero interest in assisting me. She simply showed me the door. I had hoped with all the changes ICBC had made over the past two years that their customer service had improved, but I was clearly incorrect in that assumption. ICBC is still more concerned with bureaucracy, providing inconsistent information and retaining robotic employees rather than providing actual services. If BC privatized insurance, ICBC would be out of business within 24 months.

Good day – firstly, I don’t believe this location could garner so many over appreciative 5 star reviews. Too scripted.

I want to voice these complains about the motorcycle theoretical exam:

• The questions are poorly worded and incomplete
• The answers are inconsistent with the manual
• The answers have inconsistent formatting / font

Importantly, the fact that I cannot take pictures of the incorrect exam screen with my book side by side says it all. It would just be case and point.

If the answers are honest. Why can't I take pictures? What are they hiding? Why not use your power to improve the system? Instead of defending it?

At the end of the day, the objective is to educate people on how to ride better. Not trick them into fail$, and retest$!

Lastly, get an engineer in your office for a few minutes…Fix the terrible, illogical, and clustered flow of people - AH!

Went in to the office and was told I needed an appointment while no one was waiting in the building. The next appointment that was available wasnt until the following week. The only reason I went in was to get restrictions lifted off my motorcycle license as I had completed the vancouver island safety training. No idea why an appointment would be necessary, especially while there isnt a line or anyone waiting and this shouldnt take more than a minute. Poor service wont go back to this location

Tried to exchange my US driver's license. On my first appointment, I was told that I can exchange my US license and needed Indian license (which I didn't have on me during the appointment). I was asked to fix a new appointment and was told that I didn't need any other document.

The ICBC website says it has arrangements with every US state for a reciprocal exchange

Second appointment:
The person at the counter said my US state was not included for a reciprocal exchange and that I could be a criminal and asked me to go through a graduated licensing program. The tone was very condescending. Total waste of time.

I went for a knowledge test and all the staff was so friendly and kind to me. No waiting in lines for long as they only take it in by appointments. Far better than any other icbc i have been to. Passed my knowledge, glad!

Have you ever wanted to spend two blissful weeks away from work to have a very fast, stark realization that you're not on holiday anymore? Go down to the ICBC driver licensing office! Within a matter of seconds and being inside they will make you feel awful. They have a great habit of using a tone which is unnecessarily condescending and really just don't like to make you feel welcome. Fortunately, the computer was a bit more forgiving doing my licensing test. But boy, the staff there could learn a thing or two about. I don't know. Being human?

Big Thank you to Jennifer. She is so diligent and caring. My license has expired again since the last covoid rules. A doctor has warned me to stay clear of covoid because it would kill me for sure. Horrific experience at this icbc location today - while most icbc staff are rude to begin with, the lady helping us was straight up disrespectful, condescending, took pleasure out of our misfortune.we had booked the wrong appointment time and she literally laughed in our faces (not lightly), and dealt with everyone in line like they were a complete inconvenience in her life and that they were all imbeciles.please fire this woman for the benefit of all people just trying to take care of driving related things.no one would be there unless they have to.middle aged woman with blonde hair with glasses.

Their website doesn't work, you have to go through 3+ "press 1 if you are. ", and then you get to be on hold forever.

Just loved the appointment system now they have implemented and i got appointment booked while i was talking to the security guards at door as i just walked in around noon. Hopefully, this will remain ineffect for longer even after COVID-19. Thanks ICBC

Because of Covid appointments are required. I only waited a couple of days for an appointment at the Wharf Street location. There was a line up outside but they called people in according to their appointment time. Insure you have the required identification for your service request. The service was good for what I required there.

Booked the appointment for 3: 40 in by 3: 30 and done by 3: 40 highly recommend making the appointment if you can. Staff were friendly and fast!

Only came in to take the knowledge test for my learners licence. It was was touch screen from hell. Not too impressed I ended up hitting the wrong buttons due to machine. They are older machines that need to be replaced next time I will not go to the Wharf location maybe better luck at the Mackenzie location

There does not appear to be any way to renew a lisence if you work the same hours as their offices are open. A single extended hours day would solve this issue but apparently I have to find a way to get away from work to renew my lisence.

Had to renew my driver's license last week and I was worried after reading the bad reviews about this location. I don't know it they had a good day, but everything went fast. Waiting area is too small to welcome a line up of more than 5 customers but the lady at the front desk dispatched people quickly. I was served and had my picture taken in less than. I would say 8 minutes. On the other hand, I live in downtown and I just walked to get there. But I understand drivers complaining about the paid parking on the other side of the street, which is often full. ICBC should open another branch in Oak Bay. This extra car traffic in downtown is not necessary for sure.

I went there this morning to pay my MSP but it ended up it was not the right place but I made the trip little worth it by renewing my address on my BC id. The counter lady who was working there was very helpful and and fast in the processes. She was also helping other people who is ESL and she was explaining things very clearly and making sure they understood fully. I had extra time to grab a cup of coffee before I go to work due to her helpful and fast process.

Waited for a half hour only to be turned away. I needed to replace a lost drivers license, and they referred me to the Edmonton City Police, because I just moved from there. Agent at the booth was rude. Obviously ICBC has some issues they have to sort out with an overall rating this low.
