You would assume having an appointment would mean it’s a good quick in and out but I was in there for an hour to take a picture for the new ID I was suppose to make. Great service just don’t take so many appointments if you can’t complete them in a timely manner.

Good day every one. I had my class 4 pre-trip and road test yesterday and with the help of a calm and collective driver examiner, I was able to pass my test. The examiner was Harpreet (hp). She was so cool and very knowledgeable person. I was never misled once through the whole test phase and all the time she so pleasant. After reading all bad reviews and negative comments I was premeditated the I will fail and was all set to book my next appointment. But I was totally wrong as all the staff members including the receptionist was very respectful. I request ICBC to retain the employees like HP.

I went in for my class 7 road test and was really nervous in the beginning. My examiner HP was amazing and gave clear instructions throughout the test. I would recommend trying this location for road tests.

The lady who sits next to receptionist is extremely extremely extremely rude and she needs to learn customer service skills and how to talk to a customer. My dad can’t speak English and she refused to talk in any other language and didn’t even let me speak English until I requested again. She said they don’t renew Medical service card and didn’t even try to help us. My dad is sick and he needs urgent medical care. It took us a while to get appointment to see in person and we just got insulted by customer service agent. Rude. Rude.that lady needs to be respectful to customers please it just ruined our day by getting that service.

Today i had my road test in this office, I am really disappointed that the examiner failed me because I choose safety and roles.
In intersection he asked me to turn left, I stop at red line when it got green (No Arrow) i went forward and waited for the safe gap, as the role (coming traffic is priority and safety first) but he failed me cause he think there were a gap i should take and turn left. So I complained to supervisor and he says the examiner is professional and knows you didn’t turn while you got a gap. So it means roles and safety doesn’t matter all matters is the examiner’s opinion.
So what if i turn left in the intersection and the upcoming traffic hit me? Why should I take risk while I see vehicles are approaching and its near with speed of 50km/h or more.
I am really disappointed.

What’s the point of an appointment at this location? Walkins seem to get just as much priority. Guilford location is much more efficient.

Baljinder Jhutti big lair after I pass my class 1 made me wait 3 hours to give my license i had to call my trainer to come ask why they making me wait so long and lier like oh we called him few times no answer but good thing I had few witnesses his worker's there where asked four times how long more do i have to wait and said oh sorry were busy wait they call your name and i had witnesses that were waiting for road test and the time I was waiting I could see him looking at me and chit chatting with his other workers smiling he needs help not right to be in that position and harassing people

Passed my class 5 exam on the first try. My examiner Anshu was calm, polite and professional throughout the test. Having read all the negative reviews before coming in, I was quite nervous and apprehensive about the process however if you are a good driver then there is no need to worry. Just be calm, follow the speed limits, make sure you do proper should checks, complete stop at stop signs and don't hit the curb while parallel parking. If you follow these directions and drive confidently, I don't see a passing issue. Seems like this location has hired lots of new staff as they were processing everyone swiftly!

Lol they make you wait in line 2 hours in a line up all the way down the street, meanwhile they’re a government body who takes tax money as a source of income for their employees, who take 45 minutes to serve one customer, making everyone wait for extended periods of time, it’s sad these agencies need to be shut down, it’s 2022, we have better means of completing simple tasks than having overpayed workers to slack off and have the worst attitude when they have to actually do work and service customers. This tax money can be spent in much better more beneficial ways.

Service was excellent. Staff was very polite. Wait time was reasonable. Road test examiner HG is a very humble, soft spoken person. He explained me everything clearly and in a positive way. Though I didn’t pass the road test but I really appreciate HG for his behaviour.

Had my class 5 here and it was the worst experience ever. I waited 20 minutes for my exam and the examiner did not even apology for running late. The guy beside me also had his class 5 road test later than me but received an examiner before me. My examiner was an Indian dude with a shaved head and big built. He did not let me ask questions prior to starting the test and he gave me instructions that were not far in advance. He asked me to pull over and when I didn’t he aggressively commanded it again when the only place available to pull over was at someone’s drive way…

He told me the exam would be 30 minutes but for the WHOLE 30 MINUTES HE ONLY took me around residential areas! He definitely wanted me to go through every park zone possible just because I asked if school zones should be abided. If you ask questions, they will use it against you.

Horrible experience in this ICBC When you have a road test they will make fun of your name. Even though you didn’t do anything wrong they will fail you on purpose. Find another ICBC instead of this one. It’s a joke

This is the worst experience ever in my life, this icbc office should have the option for a zero star rating. I failed the road test because of the examiner satnam who was very rude and arrogant from the beginning. He was very grumpy and I could feel he took it out on the test takers. He asked me to change the lane qhen approaching a intersection and when there was no safe gap for me to enter the lane. Also he asked me to parallel park behind a car where there was no enough space, he is unnecessarily strict and extremely knit picky. He takes pleasure in failing test takers. My road test with him gave me mental agony. Never attempt road test at this office. He was very discriminating the way he talked to me and other test takers. ICBC is unnecessarily knit picky and this office is the worst. ICbC is failing people just like that I spent lot of money on the driving lessons and ICBC fails you for very minute quirks. At a pedestrian controlled intersection the pedestrian pressed the signal to cross the road but he didn't, he was instead standing there and texting someone and didn't bother about the cars waiting for him, These examiners are failing us even in situations like this when we go from the intersection after completely stopping for such irresponsible pedestrians.

For an I. C. B. C.experience being what they are this was a fabulous time. I booked my license renewal appointment the moment I received my notice which I am thankful for as it saved so much time. I was in and out in 10 minutes. That doesn't include the 10 or so minutes in line outside but the employee (Bill?) was polite, efficient and helpful. I got inside, received my number and was called to kiosk 10. I wish I'd thought to get the lovely tellers name as she made my morning. We had a wonderful chat while going through the process. She was just a beautiful person. I hope she sees this. My appointment was today (Aug 20) at 10: 30am. Just thank you to all of you.

I don’t know his name but he had glasses and little bit beard under lower lips.

I booked an appointment for knowledge test for my wife and it says they will send me a confirmation on my email it's been 2 days still no confirmation and when I canceled my appointment confirmation came right away and again I did appointment still no confirmation

I went in there on June6,2022 to renew my bc services card. The lady at the counter said the card will come in mail shortly. Guess what today I called the msp department and they said my card is not even dispatched as it wasn’t in the system. Do you guys realize that somebody might need it urgently

It’s never a good time when you need to do any sort of test, or renew any cards. However, I find this location to do a good job considering no one likes ICBC. Their online booking system is great, I never wait too long. Sometimes I don’t wait at all. Staff are usually very friendly and they are open Saturdays, which is great for those who work weekdays

Very unprofessional staff, zero customer service. I went there to get my BC ID renewed, the customer service agent asked for my PR card and old BC ID. After doing the photocopy and taking the requisite fees she forgot to return my PR card. When I asked it back she said she is unable to locate it, then I went to this guy who was at the front desk checking in all the customers and asked him to locate for me because my PR card was with them. He kept saying that they are unable to locate it and may be returned back to me. After a long argument he went again to check the photocopier and found my PR card. I think they should act properly and should be trained on good customer service instead of making assumptions. They are dealing with high level of privacy and crucial documents of customers. Unprofessonal and untrained staff, knows nothing about customer service.

There is an examiner with redhair who doesnot pass and has not passed any brown person as I have been noticing so far. Icbc should check his past six months record, why he is trying to fail every brown person, why is he being racist, I have known canada for non-racist country than why still these kind of examiners still at work? And I also don’t know why students keep failing for no reason and don’t stand for equality.

The most disrespectful behaviour by employees, I was waiting in line since 6 in the morning, the employee said if you don't have id go back to the line, I told him I have my id with me, I need another document that the other employee told me I need, he said no and treated me like child. Which was like 30-40 people, I was like the 3rd person in morning to reach there. I thought it was okay I'll come again but then there was this another customer he said I forgot my stuff in car, he said it's okay go and grab and come back, while he literally told me to stand at the end of line. I was already inside the building. He was soo ignorant, Hope you guys can teach them more nanners and customer service. And about how discrimination is bad. Literally judging people of their skin colour and gender is disgusting, I felt soo bad and still feel like crying thinking about this experience

I am not going to rant about how it is difficult to get an appointment and spending more than an hour to get a work done which only takes 10 minutes (even if you have an appointment).

Also, although the people here greet you it's like they don't exactly enjoy their work. People at Superstores, Tims and Walmart are way more cheerful after handling so many customers (but unfortunately you can't get your work done there). I know repeating same instructions for a lot of time makes you monotonous at you job but if you are getting paid for that spread some happiness and enjoy your work.

We had 2 separate appointments for same work for me and my wife. Her case was taken care by a person who was cheerful and processed the application way faster than mine.

I feel there is a lot of scope for improvement in terms of customer service.

I had visited for giving my knowledge test. It was a smooth experience despite going on a weekend, which is when most people prefer going, since I had booked in advance. I would recommend everyone to do this as it will save you loads of time.
I'm relatively new to BC but taking the knowledge test was at the top of my todos list so I booked it first. But upon reaching the counter, the lady there was super helpful and she helped me with getting my BCID and my BC services card done which was above and beyond what I had expected.
There were plenty of booths to take the rest so I didn't have to wait and after passing the test, I got the document quickly and the second lady at the counter was also very patient and efficient.
Overall it was a great experience for me personally. Just make sure you book in advance.

What is the point of taking an appointment if you still have to wait an hour outside in the queue?
There have been times when i have surpassed the appointment times just waiting in the lineup. This being the closest icbc to my place i have to visit occasionally and although the staff are quite welcoming but it doesn't solve the problem of the lineup, which is quite huge anytime fo the day and even though they don't take walk-ins throughout the day.
Why isn't ICBC hiring more people? Or opening up another centre in or around Newton area?
Surrey being the most populated area deserves this atleast.

There is not enough staff as you can see the tills are empty and u can see the lineup. Must avoid this location.

Do your self a favor avoiding this location for road tests. It seems like the examiner has a quota to fail people here. I was told this location fail you for "shoulder checks", so I shoulder check every lane change and turns at least 2 to 3 times during my road test. Surprise surprise, I was failed for not shoulder checking twice on right turns. I told the examiner that I had been doing checking at least 2 to 3 times every lane change and turns. The examiner said, I didn't do it consistent enough. SO I am supposed to should check 4 to 5 times and be barely able to keep my eyes on the road? This is the way ICBC synthetically create a backlog for road tests to wastes peoples time and money (The long block buster line up and wait time just to get your ID renew is a joke). Most people just want to get things done and move on. Shame on you ICBC

I Had a Road test for class N. Examiner behaviour was good but lookalike he wasn’t in mood to pass because his direction wasn’t clear at all. Examiner’s directions confused me a lot, he was giving me instructions aheads of 2 intersections and also failed me for other road user’s mistakes. He gave me excuse for failing me is Shoulder Check, Which I didn’t missed any. While driving the car, Suddenly he turn my steering to right side and asked me that car was on the right white lane then why he turn my steering to right side. I know my mistake which i done but mostly due to his unclear instructions. At the end he didn’t provide me any feedback, he said, talk to-driving instructor if you have any and left immediately. I’m giving 1 star only because of him to this ICBC Center. I don’t have any other issues and concerns for giving that much lower rating.

I had an appointment but had to wait for almost 45 minutes in line. After 45 minutes, I was verified and was given a token and had to wait again. Why have an appointment if we have to wait?

Before visiting this ICBC center, I called ICBC customer care for the list of documents I need to carry and also asked them about the complete step to step process for the BC ID. After listening, they said that they would accept the printed Texas Driving Abstract from the States, I re-verified the info with the customer service. But at the counter, the agent provided completely incorrect info, he told that they won't be able to accept my printed Texas Driving Abstract hardcopy, so I had to go back home. After my appointment, I called ICBC customer care for re-confirmation and they re-confirmed that they would accept the printed Driving Abstract copy and apologized saying that the agent at this ICBC center should have accepted my Driving Abstract. Funny part is that the agent at this ICBC center asked me to know the process before visiting which I clearly did by calling the customer care center.

I wish ICBC educates their agents with correct and up to date info. This will save time and money for both ICBC and general public like me.

Staff rude, fail constantly with road test! Unacceptable big problems with Surrey icbc. Go somewhere else. My kid has failed for the 4th time for ridiculous reasons and we have spent almost 5000$ in lessons including young drivers. How can instructions say they are ready and have been told you don’t need anymore lessons and Surrey icbc still fail them? I feel this needs to be investigated further. Maybe global news should look into as well as the local MLA

The worst place to go. I was waiting outside for almost 2.5 hours. There is a note saying average wait time is 2-3 hours. WHAT IS THIS? There is no point in opening this location. They don’t give any respect for the value of time which each individual spend here.

Bad location to give your test. They keep people stand outside in such extreme weather. I mean movie theatres and restaurants are working because they need business. (see vaccination card) and let customers sit in. They've empty chairs inside and not welcoming people inside. Drenched I gave my road test. Bad experience. Keep away guys-Rude arrogant people.

Very frustrated. Before my test my instructor made an incorrect excuse to avoid taking the test and made no effort to resolve his mistake resulting in a break for him. I booked my appointment 6 months in advance and his screw up results in me waiting 6 MORE MONTHS for an available slot? !

If I've to give no star I'll give negative stars to them. So much bad people with ''donot care attitude'' doing things on their own accord. On pretext of covid 19 inspite of so much bad conditions are sending people outside and remain in rain and wind. Big line ups and so rude. Why cant they manage and provide seat if they want business? Worst ICBC location. -10/100

After seeing the reviews prior to taking the test totally DID NOT calm me down when taking my class 5. For me there was no line up for the road tests so I cannot give any opinion regarding that topic but seemed to get busy as I was waiting for my instructor (but I arrived 10 minutes earlier than I was supposed to).

What made my nerves worse was when I was handing in my licence and paying for the test the lady informed me that “today has been more teaching, than passing” which got me even more nervous than I already was. (She was super nice though)

I took the test with a guy with the initials GH? Or GS? And he was very clear giving instructions and what I had to do during the test. When taking the road test I had messed up on my parallel parking and after realizing I asked him if I could fix it with his response being yes and later on said “good job on you for catching your mistake. ”

Although it was quite awkward having a silent drive with this man, I tried to bring up a topic to discuss as we drive to calm my nerves which went alright but the convo later on died out as he told me where to turn… But the overall experience went pretty relaxed and peaceful in the end.

Long story short! If you do what I did which was to.look somewhat confident, drive like your grandma and over exaggerate your mirror/shoulder checks every 5-10 seconds then you’ll be just fine. But if I’m being honest that’s probably something you should be doing at any ICBC road test.

My driver instructor while taking my road test was very un-welcoming and un-friendly. He was also very strict and was almost shaming me for my driving and didn't give me any input of feedback about what i could work on for my re test.upsetting really.

Once you get in, things are handled pretty efficiently for ID renewals. However, the line to get in is extremely long. Wait times can be 30 to 90 minutes even if you have an appointment.

This women turned away a cancer care patient. She is nasty snd should be fired. No compassion. Apparently she is a manager. I am reporting her to provincial ombudsman. Totally incompetent. If I could give zero stars I would.

The instructors here are the absolute worst. I had my class 7 N test earlier this morning in this branch of ICBC. My instructor was clear on giving directions and everything. He also stated that i had excellent speed management and excellent driving, as well as not missing a single shoulder check the whole test! He failed me because apparently I turned into the left lane of the intersection to take a left a bit too late due to shoulder checking left. (Late as in moving into the dotted line, with only barely one wheel of the car crossing the white line.) I did this 3 or 4 times and i failed because of only this. He never mentioned anything about this or spoke about it during the examination. It seems the examiners here just want to fail people for the smallest mistakes.

I got my Class 5 now but somehow for most of my attempts here, I failed for stupid reasons. Take your road test at Langley ICBC. I passed on my first tries there.

Absolute garbage if you don't have an appointment. The lady at the front just leaves the station when the appointment line is clear without any regard for walk ins. Be prepared to waste an entire day to get anything done. Saw someone wait 1 hour just grab a new "N" sign.

The guy (blue shirt, feminine voice, 10: 16AM) who checked me in before my road test is a miserable, unprofessional, rude piece of. Why do people like this work customer service? Get a job where customers don’t need to deal with your misery. Luckily, my tester was a kind, respectful and professional person. Due to the experience I had checking in, I will never come to this location again. It’s enough ICBC scams people for money, but to have employees representing your company like this, just tops off why ICBC has such a bad reputation.

Do not come here with tesla cars. The examiner was not happy with regenerative braking and he asked me how car can stop without braking and I got demerits after he forced me to disable it.
