ICBC Driver Licensing

Worst establishment I've ever been to. Your examiner Terry has a chip on his shoulders and lies about students performance based on whether you laugh at his sexist jokes or not. You should do a better job screening your examiners especially when it comes to biast opinions on who passes and fails. He lied about me missing things in the walk around (I missed 3, he said 12) and he lied about me not looking around while driving. When I got back from driving around perfectly his comment "I wouldn't have even passed you on a class 5 today". Maybe Terry doesn't like seeing people trying to better themselves with brand new stuff in their lives and happily married and that doesn't take kindly to sexist jokes.
Had the manager call me and as expected took the side of the person he hired. Do yourself a favor if you have nice things in your life. Hook up your dash camera for your road test if you're going with Terry. My wife also failed her first road test because the examiner was hitting on her the whole time making it uncomfortable, she ignored his forward remarks and he failed her. Your system is messed up.
Most unprofessional place ive been to, and you're the people dictating licenses? May as well have justin trudeau running it

It was a very good experience at this ICBC centre. I have visited it twice and all the staff over here is friendly and always ready to help.

I got terrible service from desk, the guy who handled my driver licence looking so annoying and tired manner. My application was delayed for 2month and I finally got it with WRONG my name spelled. Please go to other branch except this branch!

I made an appointment two weeks ago, and ICBC sent me multiple email reminders. I showed up early for my appointment, checked in with reception, and it's now 50 minutes past my appointment time and I haven't been called up yet. I chose this time so I could easily go pick up my kids from school afterwards (giving an hour of time for what should be a 10 minute appointment to renew my license). I'm still stuck here, and my kids get out of school in 20 minutes.

What's the point of an appointment other than to be certain you're served? Do better, ICBC.

I completed my class 7 road test (in August) and it was a horrible experience. My examiner Lily was incredibly rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. Throughout the test she continued to make comments about my driving with attitude. She would yell at me which increased my anxiety during the test (I would go into detail but it would be a whole essay). I genuinely thought I failed midway through the test because of all the unnecessary comments she made during it. After the test she informed me that I passed while rudely stating everything I did wrong. I understand constructive criticism but her tone and attitude were not needed. After, she told me to follow her inside so she left first while I was packing my belongings (since it was my driver instructors car and I was not returning). I took an extra minute or so and I immediately went back into icbc. I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to go so I just stood in line with the rest. However, as soon as she saw me she death stared me and raised her voice in front of everyone and said “I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU”. It was incredibly humiliating and everyone there heard and was staring. The rest of the experience when she was taking my id photo and signature she was incredibly impatient. She ruined the entire experience for me. If you ever get Lily ask to switch examiners TRUST ME. Also it’s not a coincidence that there are multiple negative reviews about her.

This icbc is short on stuff after waiting in line for 40 minutes my instructor arrives in a rush and really frustrated.i don't know her name because didn't tell me. It's very unfair for the instructors to treat students like that. I have been practicing with a driving school for 2 weeks and paid 1500 and the amount of hard work one has to go through to get a license in bc.i was bit nervous and after seeing the instructors rude and rushed attitude I felt more uncomfortable. Icbc needs clam and welltrained instructors. It's not fair to students to deal with the shortage and frustration of the stuff. It's not our responsibility to deal with these people.

Lisa was amazing, did my class 5 road test and she made me feel so comfortable I had no nerves in me haha. Thanks Lisa keep that same spirit.

Did my full license test here and I was super nervous. Karla was the best! She maintained a calm energy and had great constructive feedback when everything was done.

I went in with my medical papers signed by my doctor, which was completed correctly, in order to get my license renewed and 60 days went by for me to receive it in the mail and it never came and ICBC told me that the form was not added to my file and that I'm going to have to go again in person to bring the photocopy that they gave me of my medical form back to ICBC for them to add it to my file. What guarantees that it will be added to my file this time. And if these forms have to be faxed to road safety BC by the doctor's office why don't they have a copy on file? ICBC needs an overhaul in general but this office needs better. And better staff or computer systems so that the files get added.

I just had a road test at this location. My first experience was with the Burnaby office, and I found them so professional and helpful. This time the examiner was Terry at the poco location. He was in terrible mood, he just started asking personal questions (about my nationality) which was quite odd to me. Then right at the first intersection he pointed his hand to the left (very obvious) and asked me to turn right! I asked to double check and this time he corrected himself but marked me to be hesitate driver. I am 100% sure that I have done the shoulder-check, but he marked it as well!
When the test began, it seemed to get worse, based on the previous experience I am sure that the examiner should not ask you to make fast and unsafe turns, BUT he started asking to make turns suddenly and gave me marks for not maintaining the speed.
In parallel parking, I am 100% sure I could do it correctly, but he didn't let me to even start! He just said that my car is too close (which was not) and he said he is sure that I am not able to do that! This is not obviously right way of taking exam! You should give opportunity to the driver to start and do it. Then after a full park you can comment if it was ok or not.
Based on the previous experience and comments from ICBC examiner, you can assume the back camera as mirror, and it is ok to look at the screen when it is necessary. It was a sunny day, and I couldn’t constantly look into the back window because of sun reflections, and it was much safer to get guide from screen and side mirrors.
Even if I was doing well, He tended to find reasons to mess you up. Unfortunately, He clearly said "I made my decision after the first turn you had! " which is obviously the most unprofessional statement I could hear. Even if you do that which Is completely wrong, please do not shout it verbally.
The test result is not important. I am sure I will practice more and will pass it eventually, but I am so sad to see an unprofessional and not an honest examiner. He made a terrible day for our family.

This office is great, I always have a great experience coming here. They are very organized and have a good system for taking customers. Plenty of parking usually, never have a problem. Modern building.

Government institutions at their finest…. Absolute garbage. How people can possibly be ok with the hours of wait time, zero organization and fees after fees…. Don’t get it. Time to privatize….

I highly recommend that you take the time to book an appointment online. By 1pm, they are usually unable to take walk ins for any services they provide. We made an appointment and got in and out within 30 minutes. Very friendly and helpful. This is the 3rd time using their appointment system online for me, and it really made it easier. It is also easy via transit.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I walked in 25 minutes before closing. I walked into the reception line and saw a counter with a representative open I proceeded to walk up to the counter and asked if this counter was open. The woman working at the counter next to this one stated “no they’re not open and what are you doing here anyways? We’re closing soon” in a very rude tone. Such unpleasant experience when I was nothing but polite to the staff.

Lady at desk 8 killed it.

She got through about as many customers as the other 4 people combined.

Karla was super friendly, she is very soft speaking, I never felt like I was giving an exam. She helped me minimize my stress and I am very glad that she was my examiner.

I took my class five road test today and my examiner, Dennis, was extremely down to earth and helpful. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff at this ICBC location.

Five stars to the receptionist at the front on Aug 5 morning. She was super friendly and tried to take people off the list when she had any break between people walking in. I came here as a walk in and waited about 1.75 hours to be seen. It’s a busy office so this wait time would be normal, I presume.

Slowest ICBC of all time. They serve maybe 1 customer per hour. Bring a sleeping bag, you will be in line forever.

I would put 0 star if I could post this review whitout choosing one 1 star, I had my road test at this location on Friday July 21st 2032 and had a very bad experience. My examiner Clara, was impolite with me and did not help me when I start asking her some questions before even starting the exam.she made me nerves before the test so I couldn't focus on my driving. During the pre trip ispection, she was also trying to waste my time and asking on very very deep details which leads not to be completed in 20 mintues, but I completed on time.then I asked her if I passed the pre trip inspection exam, she was very nerves and dealed badly with me. I started my driving test very disapointed, and she did tricks to make me do mistakes that is regarding to turns, in more details (before the driving test, she told me that I am going to turn right if she told me turn right and turn left if she told me turn left and she said I have to go straight if she did not tell me any, I did what she requested but one time she did not say any, so I had to go straight as she told me at the begining, she yald at me "why you did not turn right? " she was really rude with me.

Excellent service all staff very friendly and helpful. A have very good experience in my driving exam.thanks for opening new appointment on weekend. I got my N license from here. Thank you to Mr. Gary who is my examiner.

My road test examiner was Karla initial KA. She is such a kind person. She create friendly environment which help me to overcome stress of the exam. I highly appreciated her work. Thank you so much:)

There is no translation for the knowledge test class 4,
the translation must be there, like Class 7, it is a driving test, not English test

Had my road test with Karla and everything went well I passed! I must say she is very professional and very friendly if your nervous about taking your road test don't be everything will be just fine.
