iDance Mt Pleasant

Great safe space to explore mo event and dance for all levels. My favorite classes are Thursday's Afro Groove and Friday's groove classes.

I’ve had a wonderful experience at iDance Vancouver, Mount Pleasant studio! I joined Lisa Parans’ Intro to Contemporary seven months ago and have enjoyed and benefited from her very engaging teaching style and huge heart. She is brilliant at what she does and knows how to make new dancers feel at ease. Lisa meets you wherever you’re at and brings an energy of playfulness and fun. The other dancers are warm and easy to talk with, and I’ve made some good friends. The women who run the studio have great energy, authenticity and a mindful presence. I feel so fortunate to have discovered iDance, and I highly recommend it as a warm and inviting community to be part of!

A fanstastic community of dance ethusiastics. The space is lovely and welcoming of all levels. It's been a great way for me to explore many different styles of dance and instruction in a flexible way. Highly recommend for anyone looking to move, improve their talent and have a bit of fun!

I love taking classes at IDance
The classes are amazing, instructors and staff are super friendly! All classes are super fun but my favorites are afro groove, afro beats and soca, highly recommended!

Teachers are very good, detailed explanation of the moves and they make a great work on creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff at the front desk is always super kind and happy to help.

I have been dancing in I dance since October 2019, dancing allows me to focus on something I enjoy. It frees me from the pressures and routine day to day modern life.
In October this year, I participated in a flash mob dance performed by our dancers. It was my first experience dancing in public. I didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how well we were received. People were taking pictures and seemed to genuinely enjoy watching us. It was a very positive experience.
It is something I look forward to. As I learn and improve, I have a sense of accomplishment. I am able to share new experiences with others who have the same interest and that makes me happy.
God is love, dance is good, our ability are God given, being able to dance reminds me of His love.

I like Lisa's class, she will make sure that we're not judging anyone and free to express ourselves through our bodies. Stretching class is nice too, especially when she pulls our feet, felt released

I am so grateful that I finally took a class at iDance. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcoming vibe that continues everytime I enter the dance studio. It’s so refreshing to have this energy. Now to talk about the dance classes… wow wow wow if you have not taken the following classes you are missing out…an Afro groove with Isaac, dancehall with Serge, or soca with Tereza. The energy, talent and kindness of these instructors blows my mind. The instructors are so incredible some of the best I have danced with. Thank you so much to the iDance community!

I discovered iDance during the pandemic when the dance studio I was attending closed. One of the many reasons I enjoy going to iDance is the variety of classes - from soca to ballet to afrobeats and most recently, Polynesian dances. The studios are spacious, the dance teachers are friendly and helpful, the environment is not competitive and the staff greets you with a genuine smile. Also, Amanda organizes events throughout the year to connect dancers and strengthen the dance community.

IDance is a great addition to the community:)

I've been taking classes at iDance for almost a month now and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. A safe and welcoming environment, excellent teachers, classes at several different levels, so anyone can feel comfortable practicing according to their own level, and not to mention the welcome letter I received on my second day of classes.iDance does not only take care of the macro, but also of the small details that make us choose to stay.

A wonderfully welcoming studio that offers so many different classes for anyone to explore the joy of dance. Not only am I getting a workout, I am expressing myself creatively and it's so good for your mental health. The instructors are pros who make everyone feel like they belong. So happy I have discovered iDance!

The classes I take at IDance have changed my life. Colleen Cassidy is a fantastic teacher who brings great energy, knowledge and variety to every jazz class. The business is very well run and I feel so at home every time I walk in the door. The new (from a few months back) studios are great. I could go on and on but suffice to say - very highly recommended (and I have danced on and off at various studios all of my life).

IDance is a great dance studio with an amazing staff and teachers. I had the opportunity to try most of their classes and all of them makes you come back. All kinds of levels and flexible schedule. I recommended to all my friends!:)

Idance is wonderful. You don’t have to have any experience to attend the classes and they provide a welcoming and judgement free space to move your body. Enjoy!

Great instructors, something for every level of dancer. Drop in works for me as I shift classes as my interests change. Friendly and welcoming. Beautiful space to dance in.

I was going to the Zumba classes here every Sunday until I sadly moved out of the province. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, amazing classes, friendly and approachable instructors, so much fun! Don’t be intimidated, the emphasis here is on fun and community. And if you love a party and a great workout, don’t miss the Sunday Zumba class! It’s the best!

I love dancing at the iDance studios. It's so much fun because it's low-key and totally inclusive. I feel supported and encouraged to be there for the love of dance and for myself. I've tried out a few studios since moving to Vancouver and I know I'm going to keep coming back to the studio on Alma!

I was looking for an adult ballet and contemporary dance class and this place was the perfect place for me.
I feel comfortable whenever I join the class, all the Instructors are so kind and friendly!
It is a perfect place to learn different types of dances regardless of your age.

The Mt Pleasant location is toxic to the community. After being open for a year, and having continuous noise complaints, the surrounding community is still constantly bombarded by this bully company's noise and indifference to the suffering of those that they share space with (take space from). Community lead initiatives from surrounding buildings seem to have had no effect, so sadly I feel that I am forced to write something negative here.

Even if iDance is somehow within the legal noise limits, they often push it, and dial it back, and then push it again. The fact of the matter is that the surrounding homes are often invaded by endless bass thumping through walls, and group yelling sessions. I live here, I know.

Nobody wants their home violated like this, and until iDance takes action through soundproofing or a consistent volume control that keeps their noise from invading the space of others, I ask you to please show compassion where iDance does not, and do not support them. There is literally the Mt. Pleasant Community Center across the street that hosts dance classes and which was designed and built for those purposes.

I will be more than happy to take down this negative review once I again have the luxury of reading a book outside, unmolested by their noise.
