My friend and I came across this restaurant on a Sunday night. It was fairly easy to make a reservation. The restaurant has a few prefixes menus as well as a al a cart menu. The food was good but the service was immaculate. Our server William was very attentive and made sure our table was cleaned after every dish. The vibe was fun. Would check it out if you’re in town!
Horrible experience here! Service sucks here! We were sitting and waiting for hours for someone to show up! Food was so basic and yet SUPER pricey! Do not go here! I wish I could have my money back
Our recent lunch experience at this restaurant was nothing short of delightful, and the credit goes to the outstanding service provided by William, our attentive server for the noon.
We had an incredible experience and enjoyed the amazing food prepared for us! William went above and beyond snd was extremely attentive to our needs and provided excellent service! He made sure we were taken care of and for visiting from Portland we were so glad we found this fantastic restaurant out of the blue and will highly recommend to our friends during their visits. Thank you and look forward to our next visit. Philip and Dzuan.
Earlier today, I dined at this establishment. The exterior resembled a typical commercial building, while the interior exuded a sense of neatness and sophistication. The modern design of the shelves and the spacious seating area created an elegant atmosphere. However, the booth we were assigned to displayed signs of wear and tear, with cracked leather seats. Despite the good service, the pace was hindered by the busyness of the holiday. Unfortunately, we were not provided with dark color napkins or assistance with our chairs, and it may appeared there was no dress code in place. Considering these aspects, I would categorize it as a luxury casual dining experience, above casual but not quite reaching the level of true fine dining.
It would have been helpful if our server had explained the menu to us, as we were largely clueless throughout our meal. The presence of a large private party with unruly children, playing with the divider doors, was somewhat bothersome.
Our order included Xo sauce with scallop and shrimp, dried scallop fried rice, one duck, two mocktails, and one cocktail, which totaled over $300. Due to the lackluster service, I opted not to leave the standard 20% tip. In terms of flavor, it received a rating of 3 from us. We have had better duck in Richmond, and the fried rice was rather bland. Of all the dishes, the Xo sauce stood out as the most enjoyable. The drinks were acceptable, and the restroom, while interesting, could have been cleaner. Additionally, they aren't offering anything special for the birthday guest, such as complimentary dessert. Overall, I do not believe this place warrants a second visit.
Pretty high on the novelty factor for this restaurant, it is nice to see a high-end Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. Interesting dishes and great atmosphere. Great service. We definitely go back. Not super cheap, but good for a special occasion and a memorable night.
Only 'MEMBERS' whom needs to prepay $3000 are allowed to order a la carte menu. Other nON MEMBER are are forced to order set menu of $188/person. The reason is they need to limit the occupancy due to Covid. However, now it is opening up with no restriction in seating. Don't understand their reasoning. And don't understand how forcing customer to order set menu has relationship with limiting occupancy. Very disappointed and won't recommend a place that discriminate non member.
The food was amazing - taste and display. The cook would cut the Peking duck right in front of you - you can request to get take the bones home and it is completely free, the service was amazing (we only finished half of the duck and so we requested to pack the other half home. The server said they will remake the side (cucumber and onion) plate for us again so that we can have juicier cucumber). Everything felt very clean (automatic entrance and washroom doors). It's very convenient because you can pre-order your duck in advance (instead of wait there for an hour). It's a very nice place to take your one special person there. When you make a reservation, they even asked for your reason of event (they gave us a free chcolate dessert for our anniversary)
Having been to Quan Ju De and Da Dong in Beijing multiple times and being a lifelong BBQ duck eater in Vancouver, this restaurant does not impress. The restaurant was nice enuf, however don't sit by the window if it is cold outside (-6C). There isn't any heat in the restaurant and, at one point, I thought the A/C was on.
The 'famous' duck is not BBQed with date wood, it was a bit dry and did not have much flavour. It did look nice and was golden brown/red.
Some of the other dishes were good but everything was $$$$$. Portions were small for what the cost was. I just don't see the value here. You can spend less for a better meal elsewhere.
One the best Peking duck places I've been to! The skin is super juicy and crispy. The other dishes are very authentic as well, the steamed fish was my favorite!
If you are not familiar with Chinese food don’t try this restaurant because you will come across a big surprise such as my food was filled with crispy chilies and bit of chicken skin instead of chicken breast.
Service was excellent and food was quite good. Atmosphere was very nice and comfortable as diners throughout the floor were not sat next to other tables. The entire experience was nice and relaxing at this upscale chinese restaurant.
We placed an order with quanjude1864 last night for tonight’s dinner to be picked up at 5: 30 pm. They accepted our order and 20 min before our pick up time, we got notified that our order was cancelled. So we called the restaurant trying to figure out why as this is suppose to be my birthday celebration dinner. Called twice and finally someone picked up the phone and said can’t find our order, and after the hostess went to ask her colleagues, she came back and told me that they are fully booked for tonight so they cancelled my order just like that.
If you order roast duck here, the duck skeleton after cutting the duck meat can be made into another dish. Personally recommend the duck rack soup, because after eating the duck meat, it will be a little greasy, drink a warm bowl of duck rack Soup can help you relieve the burden on your stomach.
The worst and longest (3 hours) dining experience ever.the food presentation is good but the taste is just average if not mediocre.waitress is indifferently polite. I guess they are trained that way.that’s the only not too bad part.the rest part of service is disappointed.no water is provided for the first 30 mins until we had to wave down her.long waiting time (30-40mins) for every dish.when I looked around, I noticed most people in other tables were facing the same waiting issue, either watching cellphone or staring into space.
