Ikoi Sushi

The waitress is sarcastic and rude. We had to leave because one of our table members didn’t order the value of $15. And on top of this, the waitress asked us to pay for the tea she had brought to the table for us. Not nice people to deal with. I won’t go back to this place.

A small and cozy place for comforting Japanese food with a homemade feel. The staff are Japanese and make everyone feel welcome with their friendliness and hospitality. The sushi is quite good and they have a good variety of rolls, nigiri, and appetizers!

Perhaps one of the best authentic Japanese meals we have had recently. You will find some unique and traditional Japanese dishes here that many Japanese restaurants will not carry nowadays: real tobiko, ikura, masago, anago, aji, etc. They were fresh and sweet. We ordered these in the form of temaki sushi. I couldn't believe that how generous that they put the tobiko, ikura on top! It was a real deal for me. The wasabi is made of the real one, not the mimic horseradish. The staffs were really friendly.
I understand the frustration that some of the other reviewers expressed - e.g. Minimum charge of $15 per person. When you have kiddos it seems unreasonable. However, for two of us, we easy ate over $80 there (ate too much, now groaning), the $15/p seems not a difficult thing.
My favourite: tori karaage (fried Juicy boneless chicken), Tobiko nigiri sushi (flying fish roes), masago nigiri sushi (smelt fish roes), aji butterly fries, dragon rolls.

Having been previously pre kids and enjoyed the sushi we wanted to go again, tonight we went for dine in and got their “new policy” shoved in our face of $15 dollar minimum per person, we went to clarify about our two year old and she said it applied for them as well…so we left and most likely won’t be back.

Very expensive. Very mediocre food. Poor menu selection.
Unreasonable dine in rule. $15. Per person minimum for dine in. 3 at table 2 ordered well over $15.3rd was told that had to spend $15. More interested in charging the minimum than gaining new customers.
Terrible experience. Will never eat here again.

Really wholesome food, made by chefs that are respectful to ingredients. Service is always polite and sincere. I wish this place become busier. Will come here when ever near the hood.

Amazing quality! I love going here. You can tell they care about the food they serve, and their customers, whether you order takeout or dine-in. My go-to is their deluxe assorted sushi that comes with 9 nigiri pieces and tekka maki. Each piece just bursts with a delicious briny flavour

This is the place I go when I miss authentic Japanese food. There are so many “sushi” restaurants in the lower mainland but you know it is real sushi when they ask you if you want wasabi inside your nigiri. Their kaki fry tastes just like how my grandmother used to make. I feel that they make honest & affordable food yet so fresh and tasty.

I wish they will bring back old menu.
I’m missing their tempura, and BBQ Squid and teriyaki chicken.

A hidden gem. If you want to know what a sushi restaurant experience is like in Japan, go here. It's a simple menu done well. Decent prices, consistently great food. Japanese owned.

This is our new neighborhood go-to sushi place for takeout, and sometimes dine in (required reservation). It's small inside, but the food is fresh, tasty, and superior to some of the chain sushi restaurants we've visited in the past. The Japanese staff are friendly and efficient. They have new menu specials often. While not cheap, the value is there if you want a satisfying meal every time.and still a better deal than other types of cuisine for a family of 4! Consistently excellent. Ikoi is tucked away in a tiny New West shopping plaza next to Chicko Chicken and Papa Leo pizza. My family gets takeaway from here every few weeks, and dine in every few months.

Delicious sushi, friendly service.
Eat in is cute and just the right size for two people or ten.

We got there late - they were just about to close but they didn't turn us away. They were very accommodating.

A Japanese restaurant run by Japanese people. It was sober, quiet, and clean. Since it is a family business, we believe that unwavering food will always be provided.
And the quality service was great enough to go through the cold.

They are very mean people. Before ordering food, i politely asked the girl at front if I could use the washroom but she got so rude with me that I didn’t even bother order any food from them. I am sure their food is as bad as their behaviour. Don’t expect any good service from them.

They have a good variety of sushi choices on their menu but I found their sushi rice lacked the usual plumpness, sweetness, and vinegar flavor other places have. The sushi was not bad, but overall, quite average. For the price you pay, I have had nicer and tastier sushi at the same price or cheaper. It still does the job of satisfying a sushi craving though. Like a standard neighborhood sushi place.
