I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea at the UBC sleep clinic, I was advised to contact a therapist and try out a CPAP machine. Fortunately for me I chose Independent Respiatory Services on Cook Rd in Richmond BC. There I met with Nancy Jang. Nancy is a lovely person, very helpful and knowledgeable, she explained why I needed the CPAP and how it would help.
In great detail I learned from her how to use and care for the machine. For a couple of months I borrowed free of charge the machine best suited for me. Of coarse I had to purchase my own mask. Over the 2 month period Nancy coached and monitored me, adjusting the settings until I could manage to sleep and at the same time receive the best therapy. I hated having to wear the mask and be tethered, but with her gentle coaching I now do not really think to much about it.
If your new to this, stick with it and let Nancy help you. I think she is wonderful.
Nancy also helped with our insurance claim, which is never easy, but with her calm and professional manner I think all will be fine.
After the purchase of my own machine, Nancy will always be available to help with any problems.

I was diagnosed with having severe sleep apnea following a night study at the UBC Sleep Clinic. The doctor prescribed that I follow up by purchasing a CPAP to alleviate the condition and as a health precaution and improvement. They provided brochures for three companies that they had positive experiences with and I made contact with all three to gain information about the equipment and also their company.
I will admit that I was skeptical and leery of the use of equipment of this nature on an overnight condition of retiring at night.
Very fortunately for me, I chose to go to the IRS office in Richmond, B. C.and meet with Nancy Jang. I credit IRS with having a person like Nancy Jang who has much expertise and experience in this field and just as importantly has all the personal qualities to impart this knowledge to the patient. This is a gracious, warm, caring, patient person who gains your confidence in this very new experience with her constant attention to the patient's needs.
To be clear, she is totally knowledgeable and experienced in the field and also the various devices to improve or significantly limit the effects of sleep apnea, you will realize that in a short time.
She will review your diagnosis, answer your questions, and then carefully go over the options to relieve the symptoms. A complete explanation of the various CPAP units was carefully explained and the suitability of each for different people and occasions. Once a choice was made Nancy went over the set up and use of the device for a home trial. We got home and followed her description for a very easy set up and good to go trial. During the trial period, Nancy was available at all times by phone, text, email to answer any questions. During the trial period she was always patient and supportive. At no time, ever, was there ever a hint of pressure to purchase a CPAP. I never felt there was an expectation to buy, only an all out effort to find relief for my medical condition.
It was my very good fortune to find a person with a wealth of expertise and experience and the personal traits to be able to transfer that to myself, a person who entered this with doubts. She is gifted in this field.
Every step of the way is cared for and the outstanding care continues once you purchase a CPAP with all important follow up re the use, assistance with insurers, machine set up changes, everything,
