Indian Flame On Main

The Indian Flame is a nice place in Osoyoos where the service from the girls from the entrance to the place is great. They are quite attentive and helpful. The food is served in a portion good enough to satisfy and the prices are affordable. It goes without saying that the dishes are delicious, the poutin they offer is tastier than any other I have eaten and the lamb is spectacular.

I recently dined at “The Flame”, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. A group of eight people, including myself, suffered from food poisoning after our visit on new years eve. The ambiance and service were initially promising, but the aftermath overshadowed any positive aspects. Shortly after our meal, all eight of us began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, indicating a significant lapse in food safety. I sincerely hope that the management takes immediate corrective action to prevent such incidents in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others, as our collective experience was spoiled by this unfortunate incident.

I don't understand why this place doesn't have more people in it. You get great value for the great food that you get. Highly recommend

Excellent service. Tasty food. Great vibes. The waitress was super kind and attentive. Appetizers and mains were both solid. Would recommend and will come back next time we are in town.

Tandoori chicken was not as hot as it should have been. Otherwise, food was reasonable and plentiful.

Recently ordered from here for dinner and got the chicken korma with prawn and was not disappointed!

I was there last week to dine with my friend. We requested a few appetizers and the waiter told us it has been discontinued by our manager. We understood that and asked her to change non-vegetarian curries with vegetarian in a combo for 2 people, but she said they couldn't do that without asking the manager or the cook. It was the first time I heard someone say they couldn't change that little thing for their customers. It was a total waste of our time, and we decided to leave because they can't do anything for their customers as I felt.

The food was not of enough for quantity and was overpriced. Just the regular size butter chicken was of 18 dollars and the plain naan were for 4 dollar each.

We went to the restaurant with a big group of 10 people. The staff was not nice at all. The plates served were not clean. When we asked to get one of the plates cleaned the server was not happy to get the plate changed.
Then after we ordered the food, we waited 2 hours and did not get any food. We talked to the manager and he did not care. He was rude to the customers and rude to his own staff as well. At the end we had to leave without eating anything. When we were leaving the manager said, "I can't do anything"
If these people really cared about the reputation of the restaurant they could have sincerely apologized. But instead they said I can't do anything.

We left the restaurant after 2 hours without any food.

They served uncooked food and when we said to recook the food then they called their chef and he came up with a very long knife on the reception and cut the food and he was like it’s well cooked, he said I’ve been working here since 7 years don’t tell me how to cook. Such a bad experience, rude employees and chef.

Writing this review while sitting at the restaurant. Kept waiting for our food for 1 hour and 20 mins and still there was no one accountable.

The Flame is an amazing Indian restaurant with delicious food and excellent customer service. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from, each one more delicious than the last. I highly recommend trying the butter chicken, it's absolutely amazing! Overall, The Flame is a must-visit restaurant in Osoyoos.

Dropped in on a quiet afternoon and food was amazing and the staff were great. Ordered a meal for four combo to have left overs and to try as much as possible. The food did not disappoint. Highly recommend and will be eating there again!

I wish I could give them less stars. Our appy somosas were cold, they were out of “fried chicken” at 7pm which was fine to start off with because hey things happen. It was a 10 minute ordeal to explain what a vodka water with a lime wedge was. After a few back and forths we finally got the drink which was supposed to be a double and barely tasted like a single. When one of our party had to leave and asked for the bill, she was shocked to see she was charged 20 dollars for a glass of wine that was on the menu for 13. The waitress said that we got the old menu by accident. I ordered one appy and drank water and my friend had 2 glasses of wine and somehow my bill was 76 dollars. I can honestly say I cannot remember the last time I had a dining experience as poor as this. I wish I could give negative stars. Do better Indian flame, you fumbled hard today. Their amazing food combined with a brand new location is one of the best eateries in the south okanagan! Authentic Indian food made to order, the lamb korma is our go to dish!

Where to start.
We went as a larger group of 20+ colleagues, calling ahead of time for reservations. The place looks nice enough, but has terrible accoustics. Our group's conversations were loud enough, echoing in the hall like setting, that several potential diners turned away.

The young girl taking our orders was sweet enough, but definitely seemed overwhelmed. Long story short, my colleague ordered a straight up gin tonic, but got something else instead that had dried flowers sprinkled on top. He wasn't impressed.

I ordered spice level 4 and my friend next to me ordered level 0. The food arrived and mine ended up being level 0 and hers I'd call a 2 or 3. When I asked to have my meal fixed, the girl comes back from the kitchen with a small bowl with the dry spice blend and tells me to fix it myself!

Most of the others seemed to enjoy their food which is why I gave the place 3 stars. I will say that the owner and server were very friendly and tried hard, but for the prices it would have been 1 or 2 stars for me at most.

It was our first time in Osoyoos. First pick we had was Indian Flame and what a treat it was. Loved the food, the environment and service was top notch. I really recommend trying their Malai Kofta, it's the best. Owners were really welcoming.

Just finished dining here again and still the best! Recommend the Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. Flavours are incredible and the naan is perfection!

This place is amazing! My girlfriend and I always make sure we eat here whenever we visit Osoyoos! The ladies working here are super nice and always make sure we have everything we need! The food is fantastic! I could eat the butter chicken everyday! Recommend this place 100% if you are in Osoyoos!

My wife and I had the meal for 2, which was generous and delicious. It’s simple in decor but the food was great.

My husband and I absolutely loved the food, the butter chicken was smooth and tasty. But our favourite was the veggie pakoras, best we have ever had, and the garlic naan was excellent. Such a big serving of naan. We will 100% be going back.

I called at 7: 15 pm asking what time they are open until she said open until 9pm but no dine in after 8pm, so I said we will be there shortly… We got there at 7: 38pm and the restaurant was completely empty… the lady goes can I help you? I said yes here to dine in, she said oh sorry no dine in, only take out. I said yes you said not after 8pm it’s only 7: 39 right now. She said but did you call to tell us your coming in! I said yes I did…. You want to see call record.

And then the lady next to her says go to table #4!

I’m sorry but is this how all your customers get treated? We came there to give you business yet you guys are giving us attitude! No where it says you can’t dine in after 8pm! Your hours of operation are 12-9!

Btw the food was nothing great. Could tell it was made in a hurry, the chicken was dripping tandoori sauce when it should be dry.

I will do my best to make sure no one in my family and friends cycle gives you guys business again.

This is one of the few Indian restaurants I've had in the Okanagan that makes curry so beautifully and not super heavy. I really enjoy their authentic taste and ingredients! Every question I've asked I get (patient) answers which I super appreciate.

Stopped here twice with my wife as we were travelling through. Great food at great prices! Will definitely go back.

We didn't stay, just picked up. Really wanted Indian food, it's not like nirvana in van. So don't expect that. Probably won't go out of our way to get there again.

It didn't smell nice inside and there were flies. The food was decent but having flies around your table isn't very comforting. I hope the owners spruce up the place.

In my pursuit of the best butter chicken we decided to try this restaurant. Someone mentioned to us that this place had the best butter chicken so we decided to try it out. After eating here, my pursuit of the best butter chicken continues.
The only rainy day in Osoyoos during our vacation brought us here. The lanes were long and there were only 2 waitresses working. We waited for about 20 minutes before getting a table. The waitress thought we had a party of 3 so they gave us a table for 4. After we ordered our waitress disappeared. We did not get our drinks or food for a while. People that went in after us got served first because they were being served by the other waitress. And once our food was ready the sole remaining waitress served us. We were almost done with our food when our original waitress arrived.
My wife had a vegetarian dish that she enjoyed but was not any better than any other we have had at other Indian restaurants. My butter chicken was good but not as good as we were told it would be. Taste buds are different with everybody so what some people will consider best, to me it was just Okay.
I don't know if I recommend this restaurant but they don't seem to be lacking for customers. The last time I looked, there were still lines outside with people waiting to get in.

No air conditioning and it was plus 43 today. One hour wait for our meal. They over book themselves with one single server. Never again due to a poor experience.

Bizarre policies and not so good food. Ordered twice around their closing time and food was so messed up.

Fantastic restaurant. We go here 2-3 times per week, and they are always delicious. The owners are really nice too. Highly recommended!

I called them and ordered 1 sahi paneer and 1 paneer masala. I asked them to get 10 roti, they said they can only provide 8 with 2 dishes. They have their own policy Which is ok, i dont mind but i dont like the way she speak. She said “she didn’t have time “and said very rudely, “if you want to order it or not “. I don’t like their attitude how they treat there costumer.

We arrived just after the rush but the restaurant was full (with covid rules respected). The only tables available were little round tables outside the window. We decided to order it as take out because we didn’t think we’d fit there well. After ordering we went outside to wait. A more comfy outdoor square table became available and so we thought we’d just eat in. As we sat there a man came to wait at the little round tables for his take out he ordered during the rush an hour previous. That wait made us nervous. As we sat it was chilly since it was the closest to the road and catching a breeze from the traffic going by. The man moved and we opted sluggishly to move there at the offer of the lovely hostess. After hearing of the gentleman’s wait I went in to see how long our order would be. I was surprised when she said about 3 minutes for our starters and they actually arrived just as she said. Not long after that she came to see if we wanted to move inside as a table had become available. I’ve never played musical chairs in a restaurant before like that especially in the middle of our starter. Here’s the thing though, they were really lovely about it and the food.was completely worth it. It was wonderfully spiced and cooked. The pakoras were the best I have ever had. We had butter chicken and chicken biryani as mains and the chicken literally melted in our mouths it was so tender. Garlic naan was also really nice (often when I get this it can be overly oily). I am an Indian food lover, have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this blew my mind it was so amazing. My partner shares my love of Indian so much that I was tempted to order some on our way home the following day just to bring to him! (Was on a girls trip). We had been really let down by our accommodations on this trip so it was literally the gem of our stay! Great service under high demand and the waits are worth it should you find yourself there during the rush. Only negative.though she brought us all waters we had order one coke in our to go order that we had to remind our waitress about (seriously considering not a big deal). Will go every time I’m in Osoyoos, or surrounding areas.

Unreasonable policies. I want to order 5 breads with curry but their policy is just 4 breads you can order, main thing is food is tasteless and number of weird policies, try better to satisfy customer. Thankyou

Doesn’t deserve even one. Traveled a lot and had tried different Indian food. But this one is one of the worse food I ever had in my life. Even a person who doesn’t know about cooking can cook better then these. Very poor service. Will never recommend to anyone.

Rediculous police, we spent an hour and a half waiting for our meal, only to be told that they had not started preparing our meal at all. Feeling completely cheated, this is a 0 star restaurant.

Why did you delet my review that I posted last week. Complain for one shot of whiscky for $40.00and beer for $10! The chai took 30 min to bring? I never let you guys go. I am sure all 5 star review is family and friend. The worst resturant in Vancouver. 0 customer service. The food was too old. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME

Im from India haven’t had true authentic Indian taste until I travelled too osoyoos and found this restaurant

Curry based dishes are kind of boring and bland. Naan is good. Biriani dishes are ok. As someone whom has been exposed to many indian dishes over my lifetime, this fails to live up to my standards. Hoping food improves. Great atmosphere and great place with very friendly and welcoming people though!

Yes it is a smaller place, and yes they need more then one server. Cause that's all you hear is I'll be right back, hang on a minute, the server is overwhelmed answering the phone, taking orders, bringing out warm dishes not even hot dishes, cause she is so busy, and food is a hit and miss, sometimes its fresh rice and sometimes it hard older rice. And naan bread is the same sometimes freshly made and sometimes not so much. Consistency should be key.

Having eaten Indian food where it is arguably the best to be had (Delhi, London, Hong Kong), I was pleasantly surprised to find that Osoyoos now hosts a restaurant of the same calibre. The veggie samosas, korma, and chicken Tikka were all exceptional - perfectly cooked, flavorful, and colourful - a pleasure in every sense and for every sense. Although they offer heat to suit the western palate, be advise if you are used to eating traditional, the heat won’t even register until you get four or higher. Do not miss this gem while you’re in town. A local off-dry German varietal such as Riesling or Gewürztraminer makes an excellent pairing by the way.

Not impressed.vegetable korma was astronomically different than anywhere I have had before, not good, and I have never had any previous complaints at an Indian restaurant. My inquiry and complaint was not handled well either. Will be going to Oliver from now on for Indian food. 0 stars

Indian Flame Osoyoos is up there with the best of them, from Bombay to Bradford, Calcutta to Copenhagen.
A good varied menu.
My particular favourite is Lamb.
Indian Flame does not disappoint, tender and moist, full of flavour, with generous portions.
Curries to your taste, on a scale of 1 to asbestos lined tastebud levels.
Discrete, friendly, professional service.
We dine there often, and highly reccomend the experience to family, friends and business colleagues.
