Inn on Long Lake

We Had some of of our crew staying there for an out of town job, they had a great stay and the staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were also great fully equipped with a small kitchen really helped, i would reccomend this hotel for conpanys sending staff out of town or even anyone can enjoy it.

Beautiful view, rooms are definitely dated and the kitchenettes are a joke. You would assume with a kitchenette you get more then a microwave.

We needed a room for one night and dropped in. Greeted by and attended to by Lenny at the desk, we were very happy that he bent over backward to give us a nice room af a reasonable price. We were blown away at the size of the room and that it had a beautiful view of the lake with a balcony to enjoy it. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfy I pulled to sheets up to see what make it was. The breakfast was much better than others we’ve had and it was open a decent amount of time. Will definitely stay again and refer our friends.

This hotel was a nice surprise. We just needed a comfortable bed after a late-evening ferry, but this hotel delivered much more. This hotel became one of our favorites out of several places we stayed during a two-week road trip around the island. Especially with the reasonable price, the hotel punches well above its weight in amenities, comfort, kindness of the staff, convenience, and value.

Our stay was amazing, but their wearer hints we wanted to mention so management could address this & make things better.
We did a girls trip to Nanaimo & stayed here. The rooms were comfortable & we had a bottom floor room facing the lake which was beautiful! We opted for the green stay but when leaving empty items (ex: Kleenex box or toilet rolls) out to let them know we needed those, they were not left & had to go to the front desk. The complementary breakfast, was all carbs basically. Cereals, toast, muffins. They had yogurt but was always out. They had apples but never saw any other fruits. On the last day they had an egg type panini which would have been nice daily. The area was messy & never wiped up even tho they had a staff there. They also had paper plates the one day (working in the industry, I would have had staff wash the dishes so there was always glass wear (along with the cutlery instead of plastic…. It’s just so tacky for a beautiful inn).
The last & most important complaint would be the hot tub & sauna…. Open from 12-8 (when everyone is gone for the day). Makes more sense to open at 7am when ppl would love to access it & stay open til 11pm when you need to use it before bed. Being in the back side, we saw many people try to access the hot tub after 8pm and everyone left upset it was closed. Staff would not allow any exceptions! (we had been here for a marathon & would not let us access it) : (
Would love if management would make these changes, otherwise we would not book this hotel again. We’d find one with better customer service. (Lenny at the front desk was the best tho, always helped us out when we needed it).

Stay was absolutely fabulous. Only complaint would be the hours of the hot tub. While I understand that opening it at 12pm allows for cleaning, so does 10am. Also, having it close at 8pm is far too early. I understand allotting for noise for those who are close to the ammentity, however 10pm is still quite early, and the spa room hold quite a bit more of the noise then expected. Could also offer a little more selection for breakfast, but it was also fantastic!

Over all though, the place is amazing! Beautiful view of the lake and wonderful staff.

I've stayed here at least 25 times in the past And have watched a decline in services for the last 5 years.
All I ever get is excuses why services cannot be provided like they used to.
It seems very typical of foreign ownership in canada how cheap things become once they take over.disappointed
At no point did I raise my voice to the staff at any time.in fact all the staff that worked here before you fired them loved us.
I gave the lady a bottle of whiskey CC for Christmas one year we stayed. They could certainly provide a more accurate framework then what you posted!

Back to the real issue of Tub tub hours and being open. Henrick took the time to explain the hotels postion TY. I still think 9 pm is more reasonable.
The Inn/Henrick did do me a huge favor yesterday, so he obviously tried had to accommodate me. TY again!
So I'm changing the review after he tried so hard!

Great stop over to spend the night on the way to Long Beach. Family friendly, dog friendly inn. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was perfect. Beds and pullout couch are comfortable. With reasonable expectations this place goes above and beyond. Makes the long trip to the West Coast far less taxing. If you are traveling at night or need to be fresh for the, somewhat challenging drive to the west coast, a rest here is a great option.

Nice place to stay while in Nanaimo.

Staff is super accommodating and friendly. Rooms are a decent size. Bright and seems to be maintained well. Has everything I needed for the trip and central to everything.

The rain didn’t dampen the nice view of the lake.

Clean and roomy rooms with great views of lake. Breakfast included is great and handy, Front desk staff were very nice.
Robes in rooms are a nice touch.
Complaints would be for the breakfast a protein like boiled eggs would be great, adding fresh ice to bowls were milk is would keep it from getting warm, they were warm by 9;30, I didnt see hot chocolate and that would be a great add.
Longer hours for hot tub, like until 10pm, 8 is too early when your out for the day.

The spa was really great, I loved the infrastructure inside. Grateful for the view of the lake and the comfy bed. The only complaint I had was that the blow dryer had very little power so I guess I should have brought my own. The complimentary breakfast was a good spread and I loved the waffle making machine where you can make your own Waffles. Overall, I had a really great stay. Thanks for your hospitality!

It was a nice place to stay. The issues we had were with the inconsistent maid service. They didn't refill the towels properly all the time. We'd be missing hand towels, bath towels and face clothes. They didn't always refill the coffee pods, stir sticks, and sugar, or replace the dirty mugs. They also left dirty dishes in the room. Also, the water pressure in the shower and temperature were terrible. The hotel ran out of hot water one morning.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. Extremely disappointing. Very poor customer service. Attendant at front desk was a nightmare to deal with. Made us feel unwelcome. Had issues that were dismissed and not resolved in any means. Ended up going to a different hotel. Horrible staff horrible manager. If I could give zero stars I would.

To start out, I would stay here again if I’m in the Nanaimo area. It’s a suburban motel, but Nanaimo is basically all suburb, so that’s reasonable.

It’s right on long lake, which is basically right on the highway. There are several chain restaurants within a 10 minute drive, and it’s a good stopping point if you come in on a late ferry.

We were charged $9 for parking, which kinda seems ridiculous given the huge lot on premises and that our booking website said it was free. But they said they would investigate, and I never heard anything.

That being said, The staff is really nice. They seem to care, and the room and grounds were in pretty good shape. It’s not a real resort, but you can swim in the lake and the spa/sauna were clean.

I’ll start this off by saying we have stayed here a few times and everytime has been wonderful. This time we came we walked in and noticed about 12 obvious ginormous stains on the floor, but it is a pet room okay fine (but they didn’t even look cleaned) after walking around after 10 minutes we noticed our feet were caked BLACK. The carpet has obviously not been cleaned in a long time, we put our shoes on and dealt with it. But then, we looked in the shower which was filled with hair. This was super disappointing and gross, on top of that the beds were caved in and we all woke up with a very sore body. When we come to a hotel we expect it to atleast be clean, I really hope the hotel starts atleast carpet cleaning between pet stays as there was obvious urine stains ALL over the carpet. If people are paying pet deposit fees for a stay, where’s the clean up?

Nice view of lake, decent room and modest breakfast options.
Would've given 5 star if bf had some options hot options like boiled/scrambled eggs. Also bathroom shouldn't be inside kitchenette which is ultra small.

This inn sits right on the small lake in central naniamo close to everything.
Beautiful balconys with lake view and large wide open rooms.tv wifi and awesome coffee and tea bars everywhere.

If you’re a staff member here you will be fired right before your 3 monthes so they don’t have to give you benefits I know at least 5 people they’ve done this too, also as a house keeper I know that the pillow cases don’t get changed often or beds don’t get changed cause at the discretion of the manager in housekeeping they can decide if someone “just put their suitcase on the bed” even if it’s covered in pet hair mud etc. Also no scrubbing agents is used for the bathtubs just spray so have fun in all the dead skin in the tubs. And last but not least has never released mine or my partners and best friends ROE.

We really appreciated the amenities in the room, including bath robes, real cups and glasses, and refrigerator. The view was wonderful. The only small negative was the lack of a hot breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Continental breakfast was nothing fancy but exceeded expectations.

One of my favorite places to stay while working in Nanaimo. Rooms are very comfortable especially the beds. The views are amazing either from the 1st floor or the 3rd floor rooms. Looking forward to my next stay. Cant forget to mention the staff were extremely friendly as well.

I did not receive any room service in my stay. I helped the employee clean by putting all the dirty sheets and towels in one area of the room so they can easily work when they clean but they later complained regarding my cleanliness. I was not informed prior to my stay that I was not allowed to do this. They also do not clean the rooms before I entered. The kitchenette had rotting fish smell and the pots and pans were dirty but they claimed that this was my fault. I am very disappointed with my stay. The cleanliness is so poor in this Inn and they blame it on their customer. So much for quality customer service.

Amazing place to stay! Truly felt like I was in Maui The team is incredibly kind. The rooms are HUGE and clean. The continental breakfast was organized and sanitary. New staycation spot!

It's a beautiful property located on Long lake. Rooms are well kept and clean. The view from the room is serene. Staff is amazing!

Was a very unclean clean room, even had a used coffee pod in the coffee maker, and a faulty soap dispenser in the shower which made it very slippery to try to shower. Just really would not recommend staying there even for one night.

A little outdated but clean hotel. Its right by the highway and the rooms weren't soundproofed so make sure you bring or ask for an earplug

What a pleasant surprise! Clean, comfy, great location on the lake. Basic serve yourself breaky is included, a hidden gem in the middle of Nanaimo.

Great value. Nice family owned spot. Renovations are nice. It's not a fancy hotel.but rating it for what it is. A fun. Getaway

Great stay. Beautiful grounds with lots of greenspace and pathways. Kayak rentals too. This hotel is right on the lake. And even though it is on the highway we heard no traffic noise.

Very dated. Management is not professional. Broken screens on both doors, one was somewhat fixed. Fridge didn't work properly. Breakfast area was very small with the number of rooms they had. Ran out of fat free yogurt. Towels were very coarse on the skin. Highway noise was loud but it did quiet down after 11pm. Nice view of the Lake but there was caution tape around the boat area. Would not recommend unless you were only staying 1 night. We stayed 3 too many. Didn't offer any compensation for our inconvenience.

Love the lake view, highway is noisy but does slow down at night time. The place looks dated. Roof needs a paint job. 2 broken screens when we checked in. One of the screens was somewhat fixed but bedroom screen was not fixed and we were unable to open to have fresh air to sleep. Fridge was not the best, first it was not cool enough and then it froze our water bottles. Breakfast is good but not enough low fat.yogurt. Breakfast area is very limited. Glad we were able to bring our breakfast to the room. Bed is comfy and the room is clean. Towels are a bit rough. Conveniently located for our travels.

Stayed in quite a few hotels across BC and US this is one of the best we've found.they advertise animal friendly and they mean it.beautiful location and wonderful staff.this is my first ever 5 star

Great boutique hotel right on the lake. Exercise room and hottub located in gazebo next to the lake. Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Come and watch the RC sailboats sailing on Fridays.

My husband and I choose this hotel because it was accessible and had a nice view. My husband is handicapped so it was nice for him to be able to have access to the view. They had 2 rooms available one on the 2nd floor and one on the third. We picked the 2nd because the view of the water was better and easier to see. We were enjoying our evening and thought everything was great until 2 am when we were rudely awoken by the people upstairs. When I complained to the front desk he told me he went up to the room and could not hear a thing. Thats funny who checks in at 2 in the morning anyways? Of course, they will be disturbing the guests below. When I complained in the morning the girl said to me, well, you should of taken the third floor then. We were shocked at the horrible service. We were finally offered a 20 dollar discount which to us was not enough. We will not be back and will make sure to tell all our friends about our trip.

Lovely hotel. Nice large room, very clean, friendly staff and obviously, right on the lake. We went and sat out on the dock after dark and it was very pretty and peaceful. Beds were comfy Would stay here again for sure.

Amazing view, clean rooms and area, good complimentary breakfast, close to everywhere. The agent at the front desk- sorry I forgot his name (who was working on April 13th around 3 pm - was very helpful, polite and great at his job. Highly recommended!

I have met monthly in the either of the two conference rooms on the top floor for a professional event over the course of the last year. The location is beautiful overlooking the lake and easy to get to being situated on the old highway. The conference room has a nice view of the lake and served the purposes of our small group well. Snacks, water, and beverages were all okay. Usually a small selection of fruit and pastries. Drinks were topped up promptly when asked for. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. I really appreciate how pet friendly this place is. The only small complaint I have is that the walls of the conference rooms are quite thin and noise is easily heard from the adjoining conference room, as well as the adjoining bathrooms.
