Great food and service. Renovations make for pleasant atmosphere. Definitely repeat diner.

Despite ordering a 4-meal combo for three people at the Korean barbecue, we found the portion of meat to be insufficient, leaving us still hungry. While the experience was enjoyable, the limited quantity of meat impacted our overall satisfaction, warranting a three-star rating.

Food and service were amazing. What's disappointing is their ventilation system. Unlike other Korean BBQ places where the vents are part of their hotplate/BBQ systems, the fans for each table are higher. Expect to smell like smoked meat after a meal. Leave your winter coats behind. You'll thank me later.

Good food but can get very expensive depending on what you get haha. Husband and friends ordered meat platters (didn't take photo) which ended up at $50 something each. They have big rooms to accommodate large groups. Service is ok, some servers are friendlier than others.

I've been coming to Insadong for over 10 years, and it's only gotten better over time. Service is quick and friendly, you get the feeling that the staff want you to enjoy your meal. The tables are big, clean, and nicely spaced apart. The chairs are so comfy!
This time, I ordered a pork combo for 2 and Tteok-bokki. The food came out very quickly and everything was very fresh. The server will come and change the grill plate for you once there is a buildup of burnt stuff. I was very stuffed and satisfied!

Not bad. Food was pretty good. Maybe the were understaffed and/or it was really busy, but it was hard to get prompt service. Maybe too busy to get rid of broken dishes.

Large and nice looking KBBQ spot. Very comfortable seating since the restaurant is super spacious. Love the beef and chicken combo, it was the perfect amount for 6 people to share.

Ordered the beef deluxe for 4, most of the meat is fine except one of the beef they used restructured beef, soup is just basic with tofu super salty. The servers were amazing tho.

Insadong used to be really good quality, but recent two visits the quality had gone down too much

This is definitely our family's favorite Korean BBQ restaurant. All the food is extremely delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. If there are three of you, ordering a four-person serving might be too much. It would be better to order a two-person serving and add some additional items. The service staff are also excellent. Not only are they very handsome, but they also always change the grill plate without us even having to ask because they do it before we can request it. It's a restaurant that I highly recommend. We usually spend around $50 CAD per person, including the service charge, and we can eat until we're very full.

Korean barbecue restaurant, the dining environment is spacious and comfortable, the service staff is very friendly and enthusiastic, the price is also reasonable, the quality of the meal is super good, it is a good restaurant that people will come back again and again

It's been some time that I ate here but when I did. I found rocks in my soup and the surface was horrible. It felt like they didn't like us.

Great place with great taste, we have enjoyed our combo plate so much, great quality and portion, the menu says it’s for two but honestly it can feed at least three persons.

Bad service, but one of the male servers was excellent though! We had the Insadong combo, the food was mediocre considering the price, ($109 for 2 people) there are better Korean bbq places in metro Vancouver.

Delicious Korean food. Super attentive and kind waiters. Reasonable prices. Spacious and beautifully done interior. What else can you possibly ask for?

I went here with my friend. They only gave me a menu and didn’t bother to give my friend one. We waited a while to order our food and one of our dishes didn’t come. We ate the first dish and waited another 20 min for a raw meat dish! Ended up cancelling the second order and left. My friend says it’s because he's white. He had similar experiences there before. He has a theory that they only want Korean people in the restaurant so they sabotage white people. Very cold staff and didn’t care to interact with us.

Not the best kbbq. The bibimbap here gives the smallest amount of meat and the soups here are super bland. The bbq itself isn't bad but not stellar either. My main issue here is the service. We did go as a large party during their last call so I can understand that they might have been frustrated as they wanted to start closing and cleaning. However, the attitude and demeanor of one of the waitresses was so unpleasant. You can tell she wanted us to leave and was tired of us. There was also another waiter whom I was asking for more side dishes and water but before I could ask for everything he was walking away.
If you want good korean food then this place isn't it. If you want kbbq that's on the cheaper side compared to arisu or jejudo then it's a good option.

I really enjoy Insadong, this 10+ years old Korean restaurant. The meats are fresh and tasty, and the interior is spacious. In addition, the servers are attractive and offer phenomenal services.

Stopped by and tried this out. Their kim chi is good compared to other korean restaurants I've tried (more sour). We ordered the $79 dinner combo for 2. Good selection of pork, chicken and beef. Portion was fair for the price. There weren't as many short ribs with this combo so we did order extra premium beef (prime rib) with nice cuts. Would try again when I'm in the city.

Top quality meat (beef$45/serving) for BBQ, but very expensive. Staffs are very friendly, but restaurant's noise level is high, so you need loud voice for conversation. Overall that place is good enough for Korean BBQ dinner!

The beef and chicken platter was amazing. I would have expected some of the items to be filler, but every item was phenomenal, right down to the marinades, sizes of each piece of meat, and even the salad dressing. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. Thank you!

The place looks a typical bbq house, spacious and high ceiling for the vent.
The hostess who led us to the table needs human interaction and could have at least gave us an orientation about the service there.
She asked me to follow her and when she passed the table where we were supposed to be seated she looked back and told us that was the table for us and she continued to walk away.
We pressed the buttons to call the waitress many times but no one showed up until we got the attention of one of the waitresses walking fairly in and out.
All the staff were so transactional, lol
I understand it was during peak period but they had to be interactive and considerate.
We ordered the Insadong combo and unfortunately they ran out of chicken so it was substituted for beef instead.
The quantity of the meat and sides for 4 people was just sufficient.

I say it's a once to-go-to if you want to experience Korean bbq.

Very poor service, received a lot of unnecessary attitude from our waiter. It totally ruined our experience, and we will not be visiting again.

Food was delicious! Had the two people combos, so we had a mix of the meats, vegetables and soup. Restaurant building is a bit old but looks well maintained, parking was decent. QR code for the menu and a button to ring for service, but one star off because despite the light and sound no one comes because of the button. We still had to wave staff down to get service.

Amazing experience. Friendly staff and service. Loved it too that we went at a time when it was not too busy. Amazing food. Will be coming back in summer for sure to try their seasonal cold noodles!

I was craving some good Korean food but Insadong let me down. I ordered a seafood pancake and fried chicken udon. The pancake was uncooked on the inside that you could taste the flour. The udon was soaked in half a bottle of oil. For such a large restaurant with an extensive menu this is very disappointing.

My family and I have a great time here. Came here for lunch and ordered the pork combo for 2 as main. The portion was generous and the marinated pork is my favourite. We also ordered a tofu spicy soup which was awesome as well. I want to mention that the service from the young man (didn't get his name) was excellent. I wanted to bring my umbrella to my table but was dripping wet and didn't feel like leaving it at the entrance (lost too many in the past). He kindly accommodated my request by getting me some napkins to dry up the umbrella. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who likes BBQ!

The meat was very delicious here, the soup and salad were also really good. The quality of the meat is good and the service is pretty good except when they get busy it's hard to get service sometimes but overall friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place for authentic delicious Korean BBQ.

AMAZING RESTAURANT! I love their new interior look! Not only that, their food quality is the best. I don't think I've ever been to a korean restaurant with such good quality meat.

If you haven’t noticed, all the bad reviews are from years ago, and trust me this restaurant is my favourite Korean bbq ever. I drive one hour just to eat there, which shows how good it is!

Prices have increase since then - July 2021). I love going here. The service is fantastic, and the food is consistently delicious. There are plenty of side dishes too, which are my fav! One thing we appreciate is the button for service, just like in Korea.:)

When I get a craving for Korean BBQ, this is one of my main places. I have been here many times and never had a bad experience. Food is always fresh and the service is always friendly.
The banchan is unlimited and the staff is always happy to refill them upon request, without judgment of course!
If you ever in the area be sure to stop in this little gem!

The food was really amazing and the service is so great. Staffs are so friendly and very accommodating. I recommend this Bbq place.

Price is decent. Usually busy, so its good to book ahead. Normal type of service, its courteous but because of how they may be staffed/traffic are short with responses and tone. There are days where it takes a while for services to be rendered. Food is good though!

I'm literally still sitting at the restaurant while I input this. Food was amazing, atmosphere was excellent and service was exceptional. It was my wife's and I first time going and we are definitely coming back for more. Our server, Jackie was amazing. Never had to flag a server down for anything. They were on top of everything we needed before we even needed it. Great food for the price. Theve been here for 15 years and its clear why.

Good food and good service. I ordered the kimchi pancake and the beef rib soup. The pancake was great and they are not shy with the beef rib portions! Excellent place for Korean food. If you like spicy fish soup this one will turn your head and any time you crave it, this place should pop into your mind. Also what I love about this place is they have the call button so the service staff know you're looking for immediate attention. If only all restaurants had something that's so practical it almost hurts thinking about it.

Limited parking space. Food was ok. Service was really the problem. Servant without notice took the tong and changed the pan without notice and then she took my brother's glass and poured water into the grille so it would be easier to clean the bottom pan. The costumer service was very poor. Probably will be the last time we will be here.

The staff were super friendly and made us feel like we are at home. The dolsot bibimbop tasted awesome.

My second time here today with my mom and brother. The servers were great! The Korean food was amazing. I would recommend this to anybody wanting to try korean food and those who crave for it. (I've been craving for it, so this was a good treat with my family.)

Pricy but good food quality.
Cook by yourself is fun, but you need to wash your clothing after smokey BBQ!
Great for group of friends or family gathering as the envoirnment is great!

Quite a busy place and meats are decent with nice combo meals. One thing that was quite annoying was the lack of customer service. Despite having a button to ring a bell to get service, there would be many times that there would be no assistance. This was a hassle to get things such as grill changes or more water or tea; the tea was pretty good though. The order of food being brought to us was also weird, with the soup taking quite a while and rice being delivered much later than the meats. There was also a long long wait for appetizers for things like the beef noodles or seafood pancakes. Overall the food was okay but the timeliness of service and food delivered was not up to my standards.

Really enjoyed my recent dinner here. We went in a larger group on a particularly busy evening, but the staff were incredibly kind, accommodating, and made it into a very memorable experience.
The food was great, and would especially recommend the beef short-ribs.

I have been here many times. Close to transit. Affordable good food. The seafood tofu soup is filled with different ingredients.

Really like this place. Lota of food for a couple combo. Yummy. Love the cucumber pickle and spicy tofu soup is awesome too. Mear bbq for 2 is actually good for 3.
