Intown Inn and Suites

Was travelling during a holiday weekend and needed to stay in Merritt overnight. Was charged around 168.00 for the night. Keep in mind this is a motel, there is no pool, room service or anything outstanding. Due to the age of this motel the floors are creaky and if you are in a ground floor room you will hear your upstairs neighbors. The cleanliness of the rooms is not sufficient, there was excessive amounts of dust on the air conditioner, the coffee pot was dirty and the windows had obviously not been cleaned as there was melted pieces of curtain on the window, the curtains were also old stained and dirty. Every time I stepped out of my room a younger asian fellow would be looking at me as if he was waiting for me to leave. It made me nervous enough to take my valuables with me whenever I stepped out. The bed was old and uncomfortable. This is a motel that realistically should only be charging 80.00 a night at most.

We got stranded on the side of the coquihalla as our vehicle overheated and stopped working and this hotel accommodated us and all of our needs while everyone else was booked up. Super friendly staff, helped us out alot. Rooms are a bit dated, new floors in our room and it was very clean. Would come back and stay here again mostly for the amazing customer service and how accommodating they were!

Our car broke down on route to Salmon Arm and by the time we got towed to Merritt all the accommodations were booked due to a highway closure and a fatal going southbound. Our tow trunk driver drove us for a half hour trying to find a place! There was one room available and we were so grateful. Our room was tidy, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The manager and her staff were so helpful and wonderful. After waiting three nights and still our car wasn’t ready we learned how much soul is in Merritt! One of the ladies from the motel going to Kelowna offered us a lift to Peachland so we could meet up with family and have our holiday time there. Thank you so much for your kindness and help. Took this hotel room out of desperation due to highway closure. I would’ve been better sleeping on the street, it would’ve been cleaner. Dust and cobwebs throughout the room and stains on couches, bedding and walls. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and urine. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful when I requested air freshener and cleaner bedding, but that was about it. Don’t waste your money…stay away from this place.
